Apologies I meant to continue my reply....The Kihon Ippon kumite is completely different as it's a basic one-step type of sparring, whereas the Jiyu ippon Kumite is a more advanced semi-free-one step sparring and a lot more advanced.
Why do so many people train unrealistic combat operations? What is the goal? The only benefit seems to be the next belt test! Well, at least they are busy doing something and moving! After all.
