Well done on pointing out that digital pianos don’t need to emulate acoustic pianos: they should instead be improving upon them. It’s a common myth that digital pianos must emulate acoustics, warts and all!
Nice review. Nice looking and sounding piano. I was in the market for something like this, of this size, a few months ago. Roland didn't have a size fitting option at the time. Ended up going with the Yamaha CVP 809, which is great and I don't think can be beat. But this by far looks like a great and more affordable option.
Looks like a very nice instrument, aesthetically. I'd probably prefer to keep the lid down though. Price-wise is going straight against the Fantom 8, which has more features, but as all something-for-everyone type of things, the Fantom 8 is not that great aesthetically. The GP-3 is an everything-for-someone type of thing, which could be the ticket for those who don't want the hip-hip pads or EDM knobs staring at them at all times. The best option, would obviously to get both of the instruments, the GP-3 and Fantom 8, which still comes down to less money combined, than say a certain offering from Moog Music, which is not even fit for much keyboard oriented music in the first place. Roland really offers great things at reasonable cost. I have to check out this GP-3 at a store once they come in, and then see what the experience is. Fantom 8 experience has been good so far.
You are missing the point. People buy this for the looks. In certain settings you need the looks, not the portability (middle of a living room, or a bar)
This is a Life Style (piece of furniture) instrument. FP-30X is probably better than this thing (for a fraction of the price). How could anyone say that 'This is as good action as any other Roland digital piano"? This is laughable.
Looks and sounds awful. The classical pianist was nowhere near professional-sounding. Really didn't do well to showcase the sound or the dynamic range. Chopin's minute waltz should not be played that loud, he was missing notes, seemed unable to properly play some parts at all, let alone worry about the dynamics. I don't know if that was due to his incompetence or because of the piano, but either way, it was just a sloppy mess of a review; this makes me want to stay as far away as possible from this. At this price, you're far better off going for a Yamaha CLP785 or a Kawai CA901. Hell, even the CA99 or one of the lower end Yamaha digital piano series seems better than this pile of crap. I had a Yamaha YDP-164 and the dynamic range was fantastic, felt great and sounded lovely, for less of the quarter of the price. No thanks.

Sounds pretty good. Best digital I have heard.

DOES THAT SHIRT COME IN MEN'S SIZES?

How about some staccato? If it thumps, I imagine it would then show.
Buenas

"Let me charge you 3.000 dollars for a RD-88 with speakers and make it not portable".
Literally 😂
Also the rd 88 has speakers anyway
I thought this one has new (3x faster) key sensors? I.e. the RD-88 is sh1te.

Sounds horribly crunchy and distorted. Yuk! The piano sound.
Bla bla bla ⌚️
The whole lifted lid shtick looks cheesy to me.
😂 yes.

PHA4 action.
@@Cowdog1 Exactly - that why FP-30X is better since it has better connectivity options.
Mejor 😂😂
