  • An idea for #15.1/Activity 3 from www.samiramian.uk/twelvefoldr... to help you to learn how to drawn & paint Islamic Geometric patterns. A fuller construction by drawing one twelvefold rosette pattern four times in a square arrangement If this is too difficult, then I'd suggest going through the previous activites.

Salam Alaykum! I absolutely love your channel and following your tutorials! I am struggling with the tiling/ spoon technique a tiny bit. I usually re draw the lines on the pattern so more lead is there, but many times my page either becomes a smudged mess with the lead or I sometimes rip it with the spoon! Haha not sure if it is my hulk like strength or something, do you have any tips to avoid ripping? Thank you so much for creating this content!

do try having an gentler touch...test it and see how light you can work on each process...and you'll find you can see/work really lightly!

@@samiramian I’m star struck that I got a comment from you!
Haha maybe it’s all the stellated stars but I feel like I’m speaking to a celebrity! I love your videos so much they have helped me through a tough time and helped me put my energy into something creative👍 but I will try to put less energy into the spoon haha and I’m sorry one last question! Is it the edge of the spoon you use or the bottom?

aww thank you and yes we get so much from a creative process... so many wonderful benefits! I use the edge, more pressure from that small space! keep checking how you go and you'll get to the right level of transferring tactics!

I've been struggling with this for over a week ! I get the 12fold rosette and then just can't do the tiling; not the square or the hexagon. When you explain it, it looks easy enough but then.....

It isn't easy... and if you've not drawn alot then you need to manage your your expectations, try something easier and come back to it. You also need good kit (see www.samiramian.uk/equipment) and plenty of practice and positive attitude to perservere.
