This will forever be my favourite horror game of all time. Cry of Fear is the biggest reason I got into horror when I was young, and was, and still is, one of my favourite video games of all time. This game, and especially this soundtrack, does an incredible job of giving an idea on the darkness and terror that depression and anxiety can give on oneself. It's like this dark storm cloud that just follows you everywhere you go, sometimes even on the sunniest days. This song creates an atmosphere of sadness and loneliness, but also beauty, almost as if to say it's okay to feel like this sometimes. A bittersweet soundtrack to be sure. I listen to this sometimes when walking around the empty streets of London during the middle of the night. No one there but me and this song. It's one of my favourite things to do. Cry of Fear will forever be my favourite horror game.

Looking at houses and cars, apartment's .. so emty.. so quiet in that dark atmosfear. No one is outside, but me.. it's like everyone is gone. Just a erie feeling i like to get in the night sometimes.

Cry of Fear is really a masterpiece, it presents the mind of Simon, his pain, his despair, his nightmares perfectly, and what makes it realistic is that we all fight demons like this inside our mind when we are in depression, and if they defeat us, we die, but if we defeat them, we win and survive.I really like the good ending, where he finally defeats his demons, and most importantly, his other side that tells him to commit suicide, he decides to not commit suicide, and finally accepts himself.
I find the "Good Ending" shit, simon would live the rest of his life in a mental hospital and everyone who knew him never want to see him again for what he has done, exept Sophie, but even she is scarred of him.
Pyoxy Doge imo the good ending is there to portray how Simon has grown and matured. He states that he is bound for life but in ruth I think he can be rehabitated into society once he gets cleared. If he presses on he is able to grow as a person which is why it is the "good ending" despite the dark undertones; it all lies on the maturity and development of Simon.
Cry Of Fear really does pull out real fears in peoples minds,Isn't a boring old horror game. It has a sense that kicks in the insane adrenaline and rush.
I just started to play this game, I almost teared up by this music. I am so mad that I haven't heard from it sooner. This is the most saddest, most felt isolation, most Depression emotions I could ever experience in a song, period.. This game nails one of the classic Horror games of 2012.

Alpha Greene I never said that it's depressing. Rather, it's weird, memorable, or thought-provoking. Or sometimes scary, but never depressing. As for this... if it wasn't for the jumpscares, I would totally dub as the FPS-equivalent of Silent Hill.
Simon is one of the best characters in a game. He reminds me of myself so much. The feeling of anger and bitterness because of how alone you are. Taking pills because you can't keep living your life the same boring and horrible way and you just want to feel something different and helpful. All of this is literally me, Cry of Fear will forever be apart of my life.
you need to know where you belong in life and understand that where you are isnt worth living another day for but in the end, you go day to day to know how this pain is, the strangest curiosity that your life COULD become worse and worse, maybe even to the point that you blow it all out of the side of your head. but in the end is it worth it? NO. you MUST continue to learn why this existence is what it is and what further shit you must continue through until your final moments pass, looking back on your life and remembering, thinking...is this all worth it? NO, it wasnt...but you made it this far, see it through.

This game really gives me the feeling of nostalgia.Even when i first played it it felt like i already played it before.The map really reminds me of the place i live in and i always hear this song in my head whenever im walking throught my town at night.
Man, this song with the intro was like a Silent Hill game...it's so dark, but emotional at the same time and sets an AMAZING tone for the whole game. A PERFECT combination for a BEAUTIFUL intro! It's got me hooked so far! 🙂 Sure, there's jumpscares, but other than that, this..almost is like a Silent Hill game (that's kinda the closest thing I can compare it too. Still some of the greatest horror games in my honest opinion, even to this day.) It matches up pretty well with those games, it's got the depressing atmosphere, scary, but still realistic human looking monsters, and a great soundtrack. What else can I say? 😄👍

It's crazy how a song can bring you back into the past. And I'm not talking about nostalgia. When i was depressed i used to just lay down and stare at the ceiling, listening to some good music like this. I would cry, then enter a factory reset state - i couldn't feel anything. Just empty hopelesness, maybe a bit of dread. I haven't felt this way in a while. Nice remembering all the dark days and seeing all the growth. There's no one to tell about it though, that's unfortunate. But I'm used ro loneliness by now. It's honestly so silly to me what loneliness can do to a human. It slowly kills you. I don't know any other way to explain it, it just slowly kills you. If you don't stop it you'll die. It's... It's the reason why i want to help people so much. No one deserves this. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Especially if you've felt like this since a young age. This shit breaks your life man. People your age are having fun, making mistakes, falling in love, making families, taking risks and opportunities, while you... Fight a war within yourself that no one knows about, that will either free you or kill you. It cheats you out of your childhood, your teenage years and maybe some of your adulthood. Best years of your life taken away from you because... Life. It sucks but it is what it is. The only thing you can do is wake up tomorrow and keep pushing, untill someday you can enjoy life again. Man i wish so much to be free from this BS. It's been 2 years already. Can i please have my happiness? My girlfriend? My dream job please..? No? Wdym i have attachment issues, anger issues, self worth issues and ego issues? Aw hell nah. What sucks about this whole thing is that you're alone, like fully. There's no one to talk to about this. No one to come cry to, because nobody around you gives a shit. There's no one to see you grow, no one to tell you that you're doing great, that they're proud of you. ... Anyway, time to get back to work. One day i will be free. Maybe. Idk. Happiness has been "just around the corner" for like a year now, I can't trust this feeling that everything will end soon. I know it's kinda late, but I'm going to tell my story anyway. A couple years ago I was on depression, my mom and I were living on a house, we pay rent on time, but one day, the owner just said to us we need to leave that house, that wasn't so bad, but this happened to us again, my mom was fired of her job, I really wanted to help her, but I was only a 15 years old boy so I didn't do so much, but I really tried. On the same year, my girlfriend died by cancer and a lot of friends turned my back, my own family was laughing at my dream, I always wanted to do comics and study art, but they turn my back, it's harsh to know your family won't support you on your dream. One day, my mom came from her job, she hopefully was hired, but she didn't earn too much, she close her door and she start to cry, she was despaired, because they owner will throw us out of the leased house, it's horrible to see the person that you was thinking it's unbreakable, crying of despair, and I, well I felt so useless, so lonely, my grades went down and I made more troubles for my mom. In that moment of my life, I felt just like Simon, alone, hopeless. I made my decision, I was going to end my life, jumping from the window of a 5th floor, but hopefully, my grandma knock the door, and I don't know why, but she only hugged me and she said everything was going to be alright. My grandma saved my life and gave me hope, when she hugged me I felt that I wasn't alone, and gave me the strong to continue, even if everything was going like shit, there's always hope. Now I'm living my dream, I'm studying art, my family supports me, I have wonderful friends and I'm happy knowing my mom is happy again. I'm not a catholic person but I hope my dead gf is watching me being happy and make other persons happy, just like her last will. Sorry for my English, I'm quite rusty.

Could be you realizing that just because you're not perfect, it makes you feel better hearing others are not perfect either? I mean, it sounds bad hearing that it makes you feel better from other people's problems, but it could be your mind realizing that other's have the same problems you have. And coping with the reality that no one is perfect.

I'd say that is more of a bittersweet ending. As some people were still killed and hurt.

Man, this song with the intro was like a Silent Hill game...it's so dark, but emotional at the same time and sets an AMAZING tone for the whole game. A PERFECT combination for a BEAUTIFUL intro! It's got me hooked so far! 🙂
Sure, there's jumpscares, but other than that, this..almost is like a Silent Hill game (that's kinda the closest thing I can compare it too. Still some of the greatest horror games in my honest opinion, even to this day.) It matches up pretty well with those games, it's got the depressing atmosphere, scary, but still realistic human looking monsters, and a great soundtrack. What else can I say? 😄👍

It's crazy how a song can bring you back into the past. And I'm not talking about nostalgia. When i was depressed i used to just lay down and stare at the ceiling, listening to some good music like this. I would cry, then enter a factory reset state - i couldn't feel anything. Just empty hopelesness, maybe a bit of dread. I haven't felt this way in a while. Nice remembering all the dark days and seeing all the growth. There's no one to tell about it though, that's unfortunate. But I'm used ro loneliness by now. It's honestly so silly to me what loneliness can do to a human. It slowly kills you. I don't know any other way to explain it, it just slowly kills you. If you don't stop it you'll die. It's... It's the reason why i want to help people so much. No one deserves this. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Especially if you've felt like this since a young age. This shit breaks your life man. People your age are having fun, making mistakes, falling in love, making families, taking risks and opportunities, while you... Fight a war within yourself that no one knows about, that will either free you or kill you. It cheats you out of your childhood, your teenage years and maybe some of your adulthood. Best years of your life taken away from you because... Life. It sucks but it is what it is. The only thing you can do is wake up tomorrow and keep pushing, untill someday you can enjoy life again. Man i wish so much to be free from this BS. It's been 2 years already. Can i please have my happiness? My girlfriend? My dream job please..? No? Wdym i have attachment issues, anger issues, self worth issues and ego issues? Aw hell nah. What sucks about this whole thing is that you're alone, like fully. There's no one to talk to about this. No one to come cry to, because nobody around you gives a shit. There's no one to see you grow, no one to tell you that you're doing great, that they're proud of you.

I know it's kinda late, but I'm going to tell my story anyway. A couple years ago I was on depression, my mom and I were living on a house, we pay rent on time, but one day, the owner just said to us we need to leave that house, that wasn't so bad, but this happened to us again, my mom was fired of her job, I really wanted to help her, but I was only a 15 years old boy so I didn't do so much, but I really tried. On the same year, my girlfriend died by cancer and a lot of friends turned my back, my own family was laughing at my dream, I always wanted to do comics and study art, but they turn my back, it's harsh to know your family won't support you on your dream. One day, my mom came from her job, she hopefully was hired, but she didn't earn too much, she close her door and she start to cry, she was despaired, because they owner will throw us out of the leased house, it's horrible to see the person that you was thinking it's unbreakable, crying of despair, and I, well I felt so useless, so lonely, my grades went down and I made more troubles for my mom. In that moment of my life, I felt just like Simon, alone, hopeless. I made my decision, I was going to end my life, jumping from the window of a 5th floor, but hopefully, my grandma knock the door, and I don't know why, but she only hugged me and she said everything was going to be alright. My grandma saved my life and gave me hope, when she hugged me I felt that I wasn't alone, and gave me the strong to continue, even if everything was going like shit, there's always hope. Now I'm living my dream, I'm studying art, my family supports me, I have wonderful friends and I'm happy knowing my mom is happy again. I'm not a catholic person but I hope my dead gf is watching me being happy and make other persons happy, just like her last will. Sorry for my English, I'm quite rusty.

What I'm saying hear is this soundtrack reminds me and who ever else feels like this it reminds you how your life is worth to end.
I listen to this when it's night time and when I'm alone. This theme represents darkness, depression and suicide in such an amazing way.
