Then again, it shows that I'm human, so, geniet van het scenario (enjoy the scenario).

My compliments, those lines must have been a lot of fun to perform. Hall's mental breakdown when he called a squad of Navy Seals "communists" really cracked me up.
Perhaps the most interesting part about this series isn't simply the catastrophes themselves, but the plot development as a whole. It's really impressive how jay has managed to string together this timeline. The stakes keep getting raised, and each event has rational consequences as each catastrophe is tied together to the next, and previous. This has resulted in a series that hasn't stagnated but continues to get better and better, as each event gets tied to the next one. Can't wait to see the coming conflict with China, or whatever international tragedy succeeds this.
Llewellyn isn't the President by this point, having chosen not to run for a second term on account of guilt from having to bomb her several of America's cities to save countless others from the Ira pandemic. Sean Wells is the President at this point, though his policies are basically the same as Llewellyn's. That being said, I appreciate your kind words.

@@jayfeather31 I understand. Things can be really tense down here politically at times. It's just a part of daily life. It was a very good plot point - especially with the ever-growing political divide in states like Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. Just thinking about some of those scenes painted an epic-scaled picture in my mind, a picture that is wild to even imagine. A picture that hits me wildly in many places. I understand what you are saying, a lot of people do not like Alabama as a state. It's a fact of life here; from the tornadoes to the heavy political divides, people have many reasons not to like my state - and I can see every reason why. It's a fact of life; and growing up here, it's something I have learned to deal with. And I did not take offense to any of this. I respect your highly creative mind, and your scenarios and timelines wow me every time. Especially this one - the realism, the scenes, the twists, the vivid pictures you painted, it all clicks remarkably well. It's something I could probably talk hours about after further reviewing this scenario. To say this was an epic was an understatement. This was something else. Good job, man - I am here to stay. 👍
Sort of. While there are characteristics of a Second American Civil War, it never escalates that far as only Alabama seceded in this situation (though rebellions did occur elsewhere) and the conflict doesn't last more than a week. It's why this is referred to as an insurrection rather than a full blown civil war, particularly as the Alabama secession was doomed to fail and was poorly organized.
Obviously this is a few years into the future (as of 2023) but if this really happened Governor Rhonda Santis of Florida would almost certainly secede. I suspect a few more state governors would secede as well but predictions of this are a little less certain -- maybe Sarah Huckaberry of Arkansas would be one and I would suspect Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri and Tennessee would be more that might secede if the opportunity presented itself.
I'm very much happy that you can make a political story without making a political bias, and I very much enjoyed this. (I just have to remind myself that this was made in 2020, since I have a pet peeve of misuse of the word insurrection, but it fits here.) Just a nitpick, but I promise you two things: A. Decapitation in the battlefield is extremely rare with small arms fire (save AMRs and .50CAL HMGs, but AMRs are not normally used as sniper rifles and HMGs will probably rip more limbs apart), and B. If it happens, it won't be clean (imagine the neck and jaw ruptured with the possibility of seeing teeth and tongue; I'm no ballistics expert, but I don't think the entire head would just be destroyed in one shot).
30:19 Everything in this timeline seems to "further increase suffering and delay the recovery by a few more years" Lmfao. By the way, this scenario was absolutely amazing!
@vbEAS. If a Second Civil War were to happen, it'd be amusing for it to be started by the State that started the first one: A "how many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?" moment.
I've been rewatching all of the Red Iris series (still amazing stuff to this day) and i'm wondering what lead to President Wells replacing President Llewellyn? Did Llewellyn retire after finishing her partial term or was Wells a successful primary challenger?
Llewellyn declined to run for a second term on account of being wracked by guilt over the decision to use thermobaric weapons on her own people to stem the tide of the Ira pandemic in the Etruria scenario. That's the reason why Welles is President, although he's in the same party as Llewellyn.
