This was the second occasion the DM highlighted the problems at Horseguards. The first time, I got called a liar on their comments page for singling out the hasidic community. So I informed my accuser that it's all on camera courtesy of the HG UA-camrs. I'm glad this the 2nd feature has pictures showing this group's bad behaviour. And super happy your diligent work has been useful.
Those people are horrible and teach their children the same disrespectful behaviors. All shown on many utube channels plain and clear. Good job
Hope you all saw my comment on that article, it was the top rated comment and I'm so happy that so many other people agreed with my thoughts on this topic. Disrespectful people need to go home, learn some manners and don't venture out in public again until they've done so.😡

So the eldest member and myself were invited to dine with them aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia, before she was retired, back in 1982. I had just completed my 2 years of Pre-Med at the age of 18. And was just starting to get my hours on the Ambulance to become an Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced. Basically, it's the equivalent to a Paramedic now. It was also the same year that Pope John Paul II came to Ottawa. It was a busy year for sure!! Jenn 💖

Silly thought: Here you are a working horse, and you get the hand lick and the tourist forgot they ate a spicy lunch and have not washed or just sun screened the little ones and horse is suddenly trying to get rid of that 'icky taste"

I had some fun once getting a picture of a ceremonial guard at one of London palaces. The young soldier was with the air assault unit. I told my kids to go stand for a picture because the guards all got one pound as a bonus for each tourist photo. It puta smile on the guards face.

Orion has not been on duty for some time. I hope he is OK. I noticed he is very tolerant/gentle with children.
The horses get rotated thru duties here at HorseGuards, and they’re careful to not have them on for too long so they don’t stale. They can be away for several months, not because there’s anything wrong, but just because that’s how their rostered duties/decompression times have worked out.
Disrespectful tourists have repeatedly sparked anger by ridiculing the King's Guard, and now a reel of videos has emerged showing the numerous times armed police have been forced to step in and stop them.
In clips posted by UA-camr London City Walks, groups of visitors to Horse Guards Parade are seen mocking and laughing at guards and appearing to try to get them to engage.
One 'idiot' even tried to grab the reins of a horse, prompting a furious rebuke from the mounted soldier, while in another case a woman was bitten by a mount for getting too close.
Best story The Daily Mail has printed since VE Day in May 1945. 😂

If admission was charged, tourist may be more inclined to think this is a tourist attraction, therefore can act like idiots. Yes, it attracts them, but NOT a 'tourist attraction' but a working military facility. Unfortunately, public shaming just emboldens some members of the herd, their 15 minutes of fame let's say. Could be wrong🤔

John, the Great Smokey Mountains are in western North Carolina on th eastern range of the Appalacian Mountain system. Th sports team Raptors are a pro basketbll team out of Toronto, on trio.
The Great Smokies are called that because they are almost always misty and look as if they're smoking.
The tourist are going to make the horse not a good horsey by putting their hands down at its mouth and feeding him. It’s gonna turn it into a nipper.
The Smokies Mountains or the Blue Ridge are the National Park. It runs through many states on the Eastern Region of the US. Beautiful, you drive through it.

Are people in the UK allowed to carry guns? In Texas we are allowed to carry firearms on our hips if we want. Being a woman though I carry mine in the car in a case that is easy to reach

I don't believe they're grabbing the reigns because the guards are not shouting. They wanted a reaction and to have it filmed. Pulling the reigns away and moving the horse (which they sometimes do) doesn't have the desired effect.😊

I have always from my earliest days been taught not to run towards ANY animal. It’s very bad animal etiquette……actually it’s pretty bad people etiquette, come to that🙄😳
Yes...always approach a horse in a calm and cautious manner. And all that screeching and flapping of arms by some tourists, will just make a horse nervous. Their first nature is to run from what they see as danger, and when they can't run, they will often display behaviours that look like aggression.
Maybe an addition to the signs......

@@LondonCityWalks Your friend Buska has a video with a group of I think Chinese students , the first ran up to the horse for a photo , Trooper looked at their teacher/guide and said clearly " Slowly slowly " the message was passed on and each one walked quietly and calmly up for their photo . Result , a calm horse and great photos . Running towards any animal is ill advised , whether they are prey or predator , the reaction could be fatal !
Spitfire certainly isn't a spitfire is he 😀. Curious and interested in what's going on . I thought for a moment we were going to have a repeat of a horse pinching the fluffy toy luckily the lady kept it away from him 😊. Tempest I think was bothered by flies/ bugs the camera caught them flying past , that would be why he was stamping irritating him .Towards the end he was just ready to go ! Well done to the media on their report , it's not often I would say that , but in this case they got it spot on 😊. If that couple the MDP were talking to were pickpockets , using a child and buggy ( stroller ) is as low as anyone can get . Still I don't suppose they care ! A long banned list , that's interesting , but after all it's a military barracks ! Thanks John , hope you had a good day off today , see/hear you tomorrow .xxx
It looks like Tempest is wearing a martingale, are they being used on horses that are 'nippers' ? Love those horses, nippers or not; and the Guards are MAGNIFICENT. Seeing how restless Tempest is I wonder if it is the new martingale that's bothering him, he is not used to the confinement of not being able to stretch his neck to nip !!??

Great Smoky Mountains straddles the borders of the States of Tennessee and North Carolina, USA. I once owned a Triumph Spitfire Car. I had to laugh at the horses name. It was a low to the ground sports car, the colour of the Guards cape. Another thoroughly enjoyable watch John: Kiwi

There were a number of high school & college bands in your St Pat's day parade. My guess is they are spending a week to site see, good world history trip. Some of the parents and younger siblings may have accompanied the HS groups

I can't post it on here but there has recently appeared in the news archive web site a new magazine called "The Regiment" from 1896. one of the first things I saw was a cartoon . It was of a guard by a sentry box similar to the ones on here. There are two little girls with a small dog and one of the girls is saying "Please mister soldier may we play hide and seek round your kennel" This article was 128 years ago.
