I'll never forget my fun challenge of doing the platinum trophy in FF13, from printing out an entire list of all the weapons and accessories, checking off the ones I grab and deciding which weapon to be the ultimate weapon. The painful struggle of figuring out the best option to farm gil to purchase said things. And of course the fear of not getting that one material to make the ultimate weapon 6 times. If the Internet and videos didn't exist, I would've struggled hard on certain Missions to get 5 star ranks, let alone look at ye best strategy for specific fights.
ah Weiss, best strategy I used was to have Carbuncle, that shields half of Immaculate End. Also use Tifa, her evasion and speed are one of the few ways to be able to not only avoid attacks, but get behind him for damage
Aerith, I had set up to auto revive. I used her to bring Tifa back, and Tifa brought back Cloud. It's the only video I uploaded on the UA-cam(it was to show my friend I did it)
@@sswishbone carbuncle sounds interesting but a bit wasted. give tifa barrier, with Feathered Gloves she is so fast she can cast barrier twice if u start in the first frames weiss calls the Immaculate end attack out. revive the one or 2 who didn't make it and go on, but this will consume ur mp over time, it gives u more but not endless time 2 counter his attacks 2 stagger him
Was able to get the FFXIV platinum last year, and can attest at the collectible trophies (and even the FATE ones) being the most exhausting trophies to get, to the point that these are very much the biggest roadblocks in attaining them. That said, if you do these slowly but surely while focusing on farming a certain area in the game for these grindfests, it will come eventually

Defeating Weiss was so satisfying! The thing I loved about it was I played through the game on Hard mode before taking him on which better prepared me for this very difficult fight. I had to study various Materia guides to get the right set up but I finally beat him! I hadn't been that pushed in a boss fight since Yozora!
I beat him too, took me 2 days and some hours invested. Cleaning up the floor with his face felt great. Now, the 2nd part of the games is going to be released, and I don't even remember the game's mechanics... and I'm pretty sure new challenges as hard as this one are going to be on the game
Funny thing is I was frustrated for days with Weiss but when I finally defeated him, I could redo it again and again after that its almost like playing with a kid

For the Weiss fight, I'd found out from a BltzZ video that Intergrade made the Synergy materia much better than it was in the PS4 version. I equipped Aerith with that linked to fire materia and made sure she had a high magic stat. She'd cast a decently powerful version of fire (at the cost of 0 mp and 0 atb) every time my controlled character used an offensive atb move, so that helped a lot. Didn't look up any tips beyond using Synergy so it still took me somewhere around 7 (maybe 10?) tries to get the hang of Weiss's moves, but I managed to eek out the win. I treated each attempt like I was just practicing and it was fun seeing myself improve as Weiss's health would get to a lower level each try. Edit: I definitely recall some Dark Souls, Sekiro, Bloodborne, and Sekiro fights giving me a much harder time. Of course I had all of my materia maxed out from previously finishing the NG+ hard mode playthrough as well.
I can say the immaculate one was the toughest boss I have had to defeat in many years. I would say I spent several hours of constantly dying just trying to learn to dodge his attacks. FF7 is my all time favourite game so I had to collect all trophies for remake and intergrade and will aim to do the same with the soon to be released rebirth 😁 great video 😊
Oh my goodness you missed a massive portion of why the crystal chronicles one is so ungodly difficult. Everything you mentioned is correct, but you forgot to mention the dungeon's RNG goal and Score requirements. Some dungeon bosses drop different artifacts depending on whether its the 1st year, 2nd year, or 3rd year coming to them. Your score ranges from 0-300+ in some cases and depending on those scores depends on which pool of artifacts the boss will drop. I've ran the desert over 30 times trying to get it to drop the final heart artifact for it to never show up. And some of those rng goals are better suited than others. If you want a different goal you need to quit the dungeon, come back, and it will reroll for 1 of like 13 options. Things like take phys damage, do phys damage, open chests, pick up items, use fusion magic, charge attacks, dont take damage, etc each goal vastly changed the difficulty in earning points or not. And if you play in multiplayer the points needed are higher. Yes you have more opportunity for 1 of you to hit the point gate but it also meant more difficulty in terms of more enemies, their stats, and points needed. And the rereleases added 13 hard mode dungeons, new artifacts that the og didnt half including life ring, gravity ring, and meteor ring. Only obtainable in said hard mode dungeons which you will need a group to clear some of them especially if you're ring hunting. This entire gimmick of goals, points, multiplayer, and rng make it a nightmare to clear.
not only that, but one of the artifacts is the Meteor ring. This requires a max points clear of Rainy Ruins, whose difficulty is legitimately kaizo tier solo (and you will play it solo, because the multiplayer fpr FFCCR was dead on arrival)
Yeah, I'll admit: ALL of these Platinum Trophies of the *Final Fantasy* games are all impossible and Super Hard to get on the PlayStation 3, 4 and 5 systems, but they're all still very rewarding after all of the completions we all have to go through throughout the years of hardships and determinations. They all still fun to play, none the less.
So thank you for doing this video, and talking about Weiss. I forgot I had tried to fight him, and barely managed anything. You reminded me that the internet exists (as in, guides and such), and I won.
I'd say that the PS4 version of FFXIV has the least numbers earned, and that trophy is "An Adventurer's Duty." To get it, you must complete 1000 levequests, and you can only get 6 leve allowances a day, so you have to spend 166 real life days to get this achievement as the leves must be used before they cap at 100 or you will lose leve allowances.
Not to mention that there's an achievement for 5,000 levequests, so five times that. Oh, wait, I meant 5,000 of each of the three types of levequests. So three times THAT. How does a 7 year grind sound?
But when you beat him you get 2 more so your whole party can start every battle with full limits. Granted this is probably the last thing most people do in remake, but it’s fun to mess around with
Getting platinum in ALL the Final Fantasy VII games has been quite the challenge but very rewarding after completion. I look forward to Rebirth, and Feb 29th can't come soon enough! Maybe after that I will try all the other FF games 😅
I can't wait until they have all 3 games out and puts it all out as a compilation that progresses like the OG final fantasy. Like balance out materia and experience progression to span all 3 games.
Weiss was probably the hardest trophy to get in Remake guaranteed and probably the only FF Superboss that took me more than 2-3 tries. Weiss took me 2-3 Weeks. Also a great nod from devs seeing just how much skill you have in Remake.
For the XIV collectables trophy you can craft/gather the weekly delivery collectables (you can only turn in 6/week but can collect them any time) which are easier, especially if you’re max lvl and getting ones from older expansions. Only downside is no turning into Rowena and needing to mass dump them from your inventory. The WORST in XIV is the 1000 levequest trophy for the PS3/PS4 trophy list, which takes 6 months+ irl because of how slowly leves regen and how they cap at 100 leve allowences.
The collectible trophy for ffxiv I got relatively quickly and doesn't take 120 hours to complete. I was able to get it done in a week and only took less than 40 hours to do it.

Weiss was an incredible fight it took me like 3-5 consecutive hours but man when i finally bested him.. what a feeling !! Can’t wait for rebirth i’m really hoping for some more cool and difficult vr fights ❤

Same here! Probably took me like 15-20 attempts but once I mastered Tifa and Deadly Dodge (I think that's the one?), the entire fight was over in less than five minutes lol
8:45 as someone who has corrupter of the immaculate trophy. Kind of shocked at the numbers low considering there are strategies to just basically cheese him. Either way, I was extremely satisfied once I unlock this trophy
After the mediocrity of 12 then 13 somehow stepping that up, farming those fucking things effectively killed what remained of my love for the franchise.

For me, its gameplay and story were so dull, my original playthrough is still the only time I beat _any game_ without realizing til the credits rolled - and I've played through all 3 original .hack games and RE6. I just let the game play itself and thennoh, ok. So that's it? I mean seriously. Not only are 90% of the mecahnics superfluous, the main character, Penelo, and Fran could've been completely removed, and little would be affected outside the also pointless bunny village. Even with the improvements of the remaster, it was a trudge, especially trying to get the platinum. Still don't have it because even though you can manipulate the garbage RNG for most of the drops and bullshit secrets/encounters, I got tired of there being no way to cheese those moronic, _also pointless_ quickening attacks.

I was one. I swear I got PTSD over it. 😂 Never again. What finally broke me was JRPGs and.... Red Dead Redemption 2. I liked exploring and wandering the map so I had collected a bunch of stuff naturally.. and then I completed a challange and it told me to gather all the things I had already gathered once...because it didn't keep track of progress in the background and I think my brain literally shattered.

As someone who just got the Weiss trophy this week.. that fight is no joke. I barely limped across the finish line with only Tifa left alive after like 8 minutes of stress but I did finally manage to do it do it. I think it took me about an hour and a half worth of attempts?
100% the same for me. I generally don't care about trophies, but I loved Remake so much, it was a joy to platinum it. It was my only platinum until I decided to plat FFXVI as well.
Yeah, I’m an insane person that platinumed every Soulsborne game, and thus did the grinds in them for covenants. Even for me, Living Off The Land is insane and horrible! It takes me half an hour to get a full bag’s worth of collectibles, and then 5 minutes at best to delete them. That’s only around 280 every hour without counting the time to delete theme. That is 28 hours & 34 minutes to gather them, and with deletion time at around 5 minutes, that’s another 310 minutes. So that’s another 5 hours 10 minutes. So all together its 33 hours and 44 minutes of grinding. Now I’m a maniac and I’m still gonna go for it, after all FFXIV is my favorite game of all time, but wow is that a lot to ask! At least I’m like half an hour to one hour away from hitting 3000.
Soulsborne games are easy to Platinum anyway. I've done it out of sheer accident just from my standard enjoyment of the game. They pale in comparison to JRPG platinums. I can think of a few where you can miss one thing and you've literally wasted 100 hours of your life because you can't go back... like one of the Tales games had a trophy where you had to have rested or interacted with every save point and many of them disappear once you complete a segment. JRPGs broke me from caring about trophies forever.
I've always considered myself as a middle of the road gamer, I love completion as I love getting the full experience but haven't got many platinum trophies due to not being super proficient at game or as committed to getting better as I was as a child. So in saying all that I'm proud to see the FFVII remake Weiss battle on here and and again proud to have claimed that trophy. Not taking full credit I did see a guide as I'm not that tactically minded (only really got into the genre recently as I wasted a lot of time on online games with friends but have fallen out of love with the anger it brings me.) it is a tough as nails fight but if I can do it anyone can
I know I had to use a very detailed guide to defeat Weiss. Defeating him in a single stagger in the first phase was so hard with the perfection it demanded but it was so satisfying to get it done.
Since I finally platinumed rebirth 3 days ago, i started going back to intergrade yesterday, and began working on top secret and weiss, i did everything else in that DLC when I finally got my hands on a PS5. After not having touched remake or intergrade for 2+ years now, getting used to that battle system after spending 250+ hours on rebirth is going to be a difficult adjustment. But i have time.
Been on a multi-year quest to get every trophy/achievement in the non-MMO mainline FF games + sequels/prequels/spin-offs/etc. After seeing this, I got motivated to go back to FF XV and get the Comrades trophies and don't really regret it. Was kind of fun figuring out how to hack things to get seemingly unattainable trophies.
XII was technically the first FF game with trophies, as you got rewards for completing various things, and they appeared as little trophies in the one book you had
I will attempt to Platinum all Final Fantasy games as much as possible. I have Final Fantasy I through X-2, XIII, XV, XVI and some spin-offs. Here’s what I’ve completed so far: Final Fantasy VII: Remake Final Fantasy IX (Yes, I got King of Jumprope) Final Fantasy XV World of Final Fantasy Still got a long way to go but it’s the journey. 👍
I remember I had to max out a few Materias I didn't even bother using during my 100% completion playthrough just to come up with a valid strategy to beat Weiss and the other 7 star challenge. The reward truly makes you feel like you have done everything in the game since having a Limit breaker ready from the get go turns every fight into a cakewalk.
I only need around 1700 more collectables to get the Platinum in FF14 I actually use spearfishing as that is still fairly quick and you can grind Earthbreak Aethersand with it so you can also make some gil it still takes ages
Weiss was one of the best fights i had in games I loved that i needed to learn when to dodge to him or away from him But i didn't think that the trophy was rare because the fight was hard, i was sure it is because some ppl only played the dlc and didn't even try the new main story bonus boss
The trophy for defeating Weiss is the only one I have from this list, but I don't think it's quite that bad. Not sure I'd consider it near impossible. Penance from Final Fantasy X is a more difficult superboss than Weiss. Penance requires hours of mindless grinding and customizing specific weapons and armor. It's the long grinding trophies that I find most difficult. There is another trophy in FFX called Perfect Sphere Master where you need to complete the sphere grid for every character. That includes filling every empty node with an attribute sphere as well. I grinded enough to defeat Penance but I could not be bothered to keep grinding to complete every character's sphere grid. Also, screw the jump rope minigame in FFIX.
I got the blessed by all trophy for FFXV comrades in 2023. I’m a completionist who likes getting platinum trophies but for me, a platinum is no good if it’s not 100%. So I did the trick where I downgraded the game using a laptop as a proxy server. Seems complicated, but the instructions are very good. As long as you follow step by step, it’s very doable. Beating Ifrit was hard, but as long as you grind the missions and level up, you should be able to beat him.
I stopped playing FF XIV 3 years ago but back then, all my classes were maximised... I could try this sidequest... Living off the land. I used to love to gather / harvest.
For FFXIV you should have used solo Palace of the Dead instead of getting 8k collectables. You have to go down 200 floors. If you die once, you have to start back at floor 1. Oh, and if you disconnect, you have to start back at floor 1. As floors progress the monsters get tougher and tougher. Near the end, there's stuff that can one shot you.
So they are rare because nobody has played these games and the FF XIV trophies mostly exist on ps5 only, ps4 trophies have not been updated in 10 years.
FF7Rs pride and joy challenge was the most painful but rewarding trophy I’ve had in all of FF. Took me a week to beat itbut damn it felt good when I finished it. Same goes for the hard mode, took me forever to beat the final boss and even got the wrong team mate towards the end but when I finished it I felt so proud of my self lol
The ironic thing for me was, I hit a wall with the Bahamut fight, and by the time I actually pulled off a win on him, PJ went down almost disappointingly easily.
@@lanfear963 My issue was that the boss run version of Bahamut was powerful enough that he could one shot my party with Megaflare, even if I had magic barrier, and a maxed out HP plus on each character. Needless to say, at that level, I couldn't do enough damage to him fast enough to take him down before Megaflare hit.
I got the Remake Platinum on PS4 back when the game came out. I just finished Crisis Core Reunion a couple weeks ago and currently re-playing Remake on the PS5 for the first time just to refresh myself with the story before Rebirth and then I plan on doing the Yuffie DLC. If I understand this right though, there are DLC trophies attached to the base game (or at least 1). I thought they were all tied to the Yuffie episode but looks like I'll have to play the game again on Hard to finish the new trophies which I did not plan on doing 😭
That FF14 Achievement is ok, but no mention of the trio of Achievements that need 5000 Levequests for each type of Leve, Battle, Crafting, and Gathering. Which, you only can accept if you have some leve allowance. Which you get 6 a day, and can only hold a max of 100 if you stop doing the quests for a while. Basically, you are hard time-gated by these achievements that will take literal years(six to seven) do to them all. Achievement Names are: All The More Region to Leve VII Think Global, Quest Local VII In the Outfield VII
On thing about the Weiss fight that the video gets wrong is his Emasculate End isn’t triggered by his phase shifting. It’s actual on a hard 4 minute timer where he will do it once every 4 minutes regardless of phase shifting. The fight is essentially a DPS race where the almost max time limit you have is 12 minutes since you can have 2 survive lethal damages on you via weapon and accessory per try. The reason I say “almost” is because it is actually possible to survive it by maxing out your defense stats, having barrier up, and having high enough HP as it will do like 6000-7000 damage instead. Also, you can’t use Aerith’s limit break to survive it as it goes through the invincible status effect.
with 125+ def, enouph hp and barrier Weiss 's Immaculate End attack ist survivable cause its classed as an physical attack. its even with rise+ enough mp hard af cause u simple havn't enough time 2 rebuf ur party before the next immaculate End, and in the fast-physic-phase he regain hp based on damage delt, so without damageing tactics u never get him down and he drain the mp for restore/regen/rise u need 2 survive. its best to counter his moves cause u prevent more damage u otherwise need 2 heal or dodge 2 survive his End-Strike. a combined regen-all+counterstance works best for the average players, all others simple need to learn every line of moves and the frametime for counter or dodge his moves, bullettime is ur best friend here. its hard but very satisfying 2 survive the 1st minute without any heavy damage and stagger him the 1st time. its doable but need endurance
8000 collectables might be the grindiest *trophy* in FFXIV, but it's far from the grindiest *achievement*. Most achievement hunters agree that the worst are the achievements for completing 5000 combat levequests, 5000 crafter levequests, and 5000 gatherer levequests. Not only are leves mind-numbingly boring and outdated content, but you only get 6 leve allowances per day, and they cap at 100. If you use all of your allowances without ever letting them go to waste, it takes MORE THAN 2 YEARS PER ACHIEVEMENT. There's also an achievement for winning a total of 1 million MGP from the Jumbo Cactpot, which you can play 3 times per week and gives around 1000 MGP per play when you don't win. This similarly takes a few years to complete con average due to the time restrictions, but if you get really really lucky you can cut down the time by a lot. There's also the Custom Delivery achievements which are similarly time-locked taking around 2 years to get all of them from scratch (and more get added every few patches). Also the Hunt trophies for 5000 S-ranks and 10,000 A-ranks, since across an entire data center only a couple dozen S-ranks and A-rank trains will happen on a good day, and if you're not playing 24/7 you'll probably miss most of them. In terms of achievements that require actual skill and aren't just time-gated, the hardest ones are probably for beating each of the Deep Dungeons solo without ever wiping. For those who don't know, Deep Dungeons are a rougelike-esque side activity that's normally balanced for parties of 4. The first DD has 200 floors and the other two have 100 floors. I think it's obvious why beating one of those solo without dying is a big deal.
For me its any trophy that requires me to do a minigame. Or specifically, do WELL in a minigame. It's like sure I'll grind for hours to create a party strong enough to sucker punch a god but I really don't wanna become a master of Red Light Green Light just for a trophy :/

Although close, Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced did come out 6 months before Crystal Chronicles did. So not quite the first on a Nintendo system after 10 years.
I feel like there is a good, wider conversation to be had about trophies in the Final Fantasy series. I don't normally hunt trophies in most games, but every now and then if I get a game I love, I'll chase a Platinum trophy as long as it doesn't require anything insanely grindy or have some trophies tied to an online PVP mode. The Final Fantasy series is the one series I want to get all the platinums for just because of how much I have loved the games since the first one dropped for the NES, but I honestly also feel like the FF series has possibly some of the worst trophies I have ever seen. In non-FF games, the first thing I look at when tempted to try for a platinum trophy is if the game has any missable trophies. I want to be able to enjoy the game as I play it, and then do that "cleanup" work later as needed. The FF games are all so far in the opposite direction that it's crazy. You basically can't get the trophies without following extremely strict guides that you need to check almost every screen, to make sure you're not missing a bestiary entry or a treasure or something else in a one-time visit location. I really wish they'd come up with some trophies that can be challenging while still allowing you to freely enjoy the game.
Every weapon in FF XIII trophy. That amount of Trapezohedrons or whatever they are called is ridiculous, 1% drop rate on Shaolong Gui or something like that.
Is the lightning bolt dodge in here? If so, I did this before it was a trophy. Was made a whole lot easier when you turned the sound off and just looked for the flash of light.
I have blessed by all. I didn't realize it was rare, but it does say only 1.3% of players have achieved it. Woah, you may have inspired some people when you put this up yesterday because it just went up to 1.4% as I was typing. I played with AI but I prefer it that way. I have it on PS4, but I got blessed by all when I grabbed it again on steam. I bought Remake when it was new on PS4 and haven't went through it again since Intergrade. I'm saving it for right before Rebirth releases on PC. I think that's the only other one of these I'll ever go for.
I'm a few chapters away from taking on Weiss again. And, I'll admit that I'm not skilled enough to do it consistently. So, I'm expecting a several hour grind in the near future. I've done it once before, but on a friend's account when Integrade first came out. It's going to be nice to have that platinum associated with my own account very soon 🙂
Yeah the weis fight was ridiculous. It was bad enough with 3 party members. I did it. The yuffie one was even worse with 2 party members. I did it though. I platinumed ff7 remake and ff7 reunion. The minerva fight was ridiculous
It's entirely expected that the older games would have lower trophy completion percentages because the average person buying it is doing so to relive their childhood when they actually had time to 100% everything.
I platinumed Monsters of the Deep, it’s the reason I bought the PSVR. I believe it is still my rarest trophy (in terms of people who actually have it globally).
This is basically "7 Trophies that are hard, sure, but are more likely so rare because no one has the game they are in, or are online trophies that no one usually get anyway" other than 7 remake
Absolutely loved the ff7 remake, several hundred hours i put into and it was enjoyable, got all trophies fairly easy, well except the tifa mini game trophy. I ranked it up there with the jump rope mini game levels of annoyance.
I beat Weiss and I got all FFXIV trophies. However, they reset on my PSN with Shadowbringers (possibly Stormblood? I've only noticed in Shadowbringers), yet my account seems to still consider that I have earned them, so I cannot farm them back. Thank you SE.
I'm trophy hunter but my primary hunt is Chaos! Jokes aside, as much i would love a FF13 trilogy remastered for Next Gen. I dread doing Treasure Hunter again.
Hot take. Final Fantasy Remake has less viable play options than its 1997 counterpart. It takes away the need to "grind" and the ability to over level your enemy. And replaces it with oddly specific gameplay mechanics. So essentially instead of being a "play your way" approach its now a "do this or lose" game. Which is very limiting, and why the game feels very unfulfilling. The combat is the best part, and it gets quite stale after a while since they only want to punish a certain gameplay rather than encourage all types of play.
Weiss isn't nearly so bad because it's a single round, it was more frustrating getting to Intergrade's Pride and Joy after having to deal with Bahamut and Ramuh.
The FFXIV collectible trophies were horrible it took me 2 weeks of farming to get it. Still can't believe I'm in the top 10 on the leaderboard for the Platinum.
I think the only games that I've played from this list were Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy VII Remake/Intergrade, and Final Fantasy XV: Comrades. I believe I got the Comrades trophy as I remember loving the expansion, though I did quite before completing some of the additional content from the various updates. I definitely got the trophy for beating Weiss in Intergrade, though he wasn't as bad as that Shinra Box Buster minigameX0

taking Weiss down was bloody hard, you see all these speed runs of him but if you have not played the game enough to know the controls and you attempt it, he will kill you in seconds if your not careful
FFXVI don't have too hard trophies, they didn't included Ultimaniac mode into the list. Somewhere I understand why, Ultimaniac is brutal as fuck but also, seeing only 200-500 names in the complete list of score is pretty sad, because even if 10x more peoples are running it, trying to achieve it it's still very few among the whole playerbase
There’s trophies and achievements that are near impossible to achieve for a variety of reasons. And then there’s not getting a key Steam achievement (for beating Final Fantasy XIII for example) because Steam just decided not to grant it for no reason.
Patching FFXV Comrades is possible as I did it a year or so ago and got all the trophies from the expansions. It was a bit of a grind but I managed to do it by myself. Still need to get some of the trophies of the stand alone version though, the boss fights that I'm missing are hard as heck and doing it by myself is not cutting it 😩
I think the Weiss trophy is so rare because everyone had forgoten how to play the game by the time it came out.
Nobody bought the dlc since it was ps5 only.
Weiss took me quite a bit of time to do but I became an absolute master at Tifa far to late haha

I'll never forget my fun challenge of doing the platinum trophy in FF13, from printing out an entire list of all the weapons and accessories, checking off the ones I grab and deciding which weapon to be the ultimate weapon. The painful struggle of figuring out the best option to farm gil to purchase said things. And of course the fear of not getting that one material to make the ultimate weapon 6 times. If the Internet and videos didn't exist, I would've struggled hard on certain Missions to get 5 star ranks, let alone look at ye best strategy for specific fights.
ah Weiss, best strategy I used was to have Carbuncle, that shields half of Immaculate End. Also use Tifa, her evasion and speed are one of the few ways to be able to not only avoid attacks, but get behind him for damage

Was able to get the FFXIV platinum last year, and can attest at the collectible trophies (and even the FATE ones) being the most exhausting trophies to get, to the point that these are very much the biggest roadblocks in attaining them. That said, if you do these slowly but surely while focusing on farming a certain area in the game for these grindfests, it will come eventually

Defeating Weiss was so satisfying! The thing I loved about it was I played through the game on Hard mode before taking him on which better prepared me for this very difficult fight. I had to study various Materia guides to get the right set up but I finally beat him! I hadn't been that pushed in a boss fight since Yozora!
I beat him too, took me 2 days and some hours invested. Cleaning up the floor with his face felt great. Now, the 2nd part of the games is going to be released, and I don't even remember the game's mechanics... and I'm pretty sure new challenges as hard as this one are going to be on the game
Funny thing is I was frustrated for days with Weiss but when I finally defeated him, I could redo it again and again after that its almost like playing with a kid

For the Weiss fight, I'd found out from a BltzZ video that Intergrade made the Synergy materia much better than it was in the PS4 version. I equipped Aerith with that linked to fire materia and made sure she had a high magic stat. She'd cast a decently powerful version of fire (at the cost of 0 mp and 0 atb) every time my controlled character used an offensive atb move, so that helped a lot. Didn't look up any tips beyond using Synergy so it still took me somewhere around 7 (maybe 10?) tries to get the hang of Weiss's moves, but I managed to eek out the win.
I treated each attempt like I was just practicing and it was fun seeing myself improve as Weiss's health would get to a lower level each try.
Edit: I definitely recall some Dark Souls, Sekiro, Bloodborne, and Sekiro fights giving me a much harder time. Of course I had all of my materia maxed out from previously finishing the NG+ hard mode playthrough as well.
As a platinum holder of ff7 remake . Weiss is ridiculous and I literally needed to watch a few UA-cam videos and read multiple guides to beat him🤣

I can say the immaculate one was the toughest boss I have had to defeat in many years. I would say I spent several hours of constantly dying just trying to learn to dodge his attacks. FF7 is my all time favourite game so I had to collect all trophies for remake and intergrade and will aim to do the same with the soon to be released rebirth 😁 great video 😊
Oh my goodness you missed a massive portion of why the crystal chronicles one is so ungodly difficult. Everything you mentioned is correct, but you forgot to mention the dungeon's RNG goal and Score requirements. Some dungeon bosses drop different artifacts depending on whether its the 1st year, 2nd year, or 3rd year coming to them. Your score ranges from 0-300+ in some cases and depending on those scores depends on which pool of artifacts the boss will drop.
I've ran the desert over 30 times trying to get it to drop the final heart artifact for it to never show up. And some of those rng goals are better suited than others. If you want a different goal you need to quit the dungeon, come back, and it will reroll for 1 of like 13 options. Things like take phys damage, do phys damage, open chests, pick up items, use fusion magic, charge attacks, dont take damage, etc each goal vastly changed the difficulty in earning points or not.
And if you play in multiplayer the points needed are higher. Yes you have more opportunity for 1 of you to hit the point gate but it also meant more difficulty in terms of more enemies, their stats, and points needed. And the rereleases added 13 hard mode dungeons, new artifacts that the og didnt half including life ring, gravity ring, and meteor ring. Only obtainable in said hard mode dungeons which you will need a group to clear some of them especially if you're ring hunting. This entire gimmick of goals, points, multiplayer, and rng make it a nightmare to clear.
not only that, but one of the artifacts is the Meteor ring. This requires a max points clear of Rainy Ruins, whose difficulty is legitimately kaizo tier solo (and you will play it solo, because the multiplayer fpr FFCCR was dead on arrival)
Yeah, I'll admit: ALL of these Platinum Trophies of the *Final Fantasy* games are all impossible and Super Hard to get on the PlayStation 3, 4 and 5 systems, but they're all still very rewarding after all of the completions we all have to go through throughout the years of hardships and determinations. They all still fun to play, none the less.
So thank you for doing this video, and talking about Weiss. I forgot I had tried to fight him, and barely managed anything. You reminded me that the internet exists (as in, guides and such), and I won.
I'd say that the PS4 version of FFXIV has the least numbers earned, and that trophy is "An Adventurer's Duty." To get it, you must complete 1000 levequests, and you can only get 6 leve allowances a day, so you have to spend 166 real life days to get this achievement as the leves must be used before they cap at 100 or you will lose leve allowances.
Not to mention that there's an achievement for 5,000 levequests, so five times that.
Oh, wait, I meant 5,000 of each of the three types of levequests. So three times THAT.

Getting platinum in ALL the Final Fantasy VII games has been quite the challenge but very rewarding after completion. I look forward to Rebirth, and Feb 29th can't come soon enough! Maybe after that I will try all the other FF games 😅
I can't wait until they have all 3 games out and puts it all out as a compilation that progresses like the OG final fantasy. Like balance out materia and experience progression to span all 3 games.

Weiss was probably the hardest trophy to get in Remake guaranteed and probably the only FF Superboss that took me more than 2-3 tries. Weiss took me 2-3 Weeks. Also a great nod from devs seeing just how much skill you have in Remake.
For the XIV collectables trophy you can craft/gather the weekly delivery collectables (you can only turn in 6/week but can collect them any time) which are easier, especially if you’re max lvl and getting ones from older expansions. Only downside is no turning into Rowena and needing to mass dump them from your inventory. The WORST in XIV is the 1000 levequest trophy for the PS3/PS4 trophy list, which takes 6 months+ irl because of how slowly leves regen and how they cap at 100 leve allowences.
The collectible trophy for ffxiv I got relatively quickly and doesn't take 120 hours to complete. I was able to get it done in a week and only took less than 40 hours to do it.

Same here! Probably took me like 15-20 attempts but once I mastered Tifa and Deadly Dodge (I think that's the one?), the entire fight was over in less than five minutes lol

When Final Fantasy makes up their trophies they should consider we don't want to farm Long Gui for longer than it takes to beat the game.
After the mediocrity of 12 then 13 somehow stepping that up, farming those fucking things effectively killed what remained of my love for the franchise.

Not only are 90% of the mecahnics superfluous, the main character, Penelo, and Fran could've been completely removed, and little would be affected outside the also pointless bunny village. Even with the improvements of the remaster, it was a trudge, especially trying to get the platinum. Still don't have it because even though you can manipulate the garbage RNG for most of the drops and bullshit secrets/encounters, I got tired of there being no way to cheese those moronic, _also pointless_ quickening attacks.

As someone who just got the Weiss trophy this week.. that fight is no joke. I barely limped across the finish line with only Tifa left alive after like 8 minutes of stress but I did finally manage to do it do it. I think it took me about an hour and a half worth of attempts?
I got Corrupter of the Immaculate, that's it from the list. I'm not a trophy hunter though, I just really liked FF7 Remake.
100% the same for me. I generally don't care about trophies, but I loved Remake so much, it was a joy to platinum it. It was my only platinum until I decided to plat FFXVI as well.
Yeah, I’m an insane person that platinumed every Soulsborne game, and thus did the grinds in them for covenants. Even for me, Living Off The Land is insane and horrible! It takes me half an hour to get a full bag’s worth of collectibles, and then 5 minutes at best to delete them. That’s only around 280 every hour without counting the time to delete theme. That is 28 hours & 34 minutes to gather them, and with deletion time at around 5 minutes, that’s another 310 minutes. So that’s another 5 hours 10 minutes. So all together its 33 hours and 44 minutes of grinding.
Now I’m a maniac and I’m still gonna go for it, after all FFXIV is my favorite game of all time, but wow is that a lot to ask! At least I’m like half an hour to one hour away from hitting 3000.
Soulsborne games are easy to Platinum anyway. I've done it out of sheer accident just from my standard enjoyment of the game. They pale in comparison to JRPG platinums. I can think of a few where you can miss one thing and you've literally wasted 100 hours of your life because you can't go back... like one of the Tales games had a trophy where you had to have rested or interacted with every save point and many of them disappear once you complete a segment.
JRPGs broke me from caring about trophies forever.
I've always considered myself as a middle of the road gamer, I love completion as I love getting the full experience but haven't got many platinum trophies due to not being super proficient at game or as committed to getting better as I was as a child. So in saying all that I'm proud to see the FFVII remake Weiss battle on here and and again proud to have claimed that trophy. Not taking full credit I did see a guide as I'm not that tactically minded (only really got into the genre recently as I wasted a lot of time on online games with friends but have fallen out of love with the anger it brings me.) it is a tough as nails fight but if I can do it anyone can

I know I had to use a very detailed guide to defeat Weiss. Defeating him in a single stagger in the first phase was so hard with the perfection it demanded but it was so satisfying to get it done.
I can beat him every time but now I am wasting gil just to practice beating him in the first stage! 😂
I did get the Weiss trophy but definitely had to copy Blitz’s strategy. Never would have put the time in to figure that out myself. He was rough!
Since I finally platinumed rebirth 3 days ago, i started going back to intergrade yesterday, and began working on top secret and weiss, i did everything else in that DLC when I finally got my hands on a PS5. After not having touched remake or intergrade for 2+ years now, getting used to that battle system after spending 250+ hours on rebirth is going to be a difficult adjustment. But i have time.
Been on a multi-year quest to get every trophy/achievement in the non-MMO mainline FF games + sequels/prequels/spin-offs/etc. After seeing this, I got motivated to go back to FF XV and get the Comrades trophies and don't really regret it. Was kind of fun figuring out how to hack things to get seemingly unattainable trophies.
Fishing in XV is hell.

I will attempt to Platinum all Final Fantasy games as much as possible. I have Final Fantasy I through X-2, XIII, XV, XVI and some spin-offs. Here’s what I’ve completed so far:

I remember I had to max out a few Materias I didn't even bother using during my 100% completion playthrough just to come up with a valid strategy to beat Weiss and the other 7 star challenge.
The reward truly makes you feel like you have done everything in the game since having a Limit breaker ready from the get go turns every fight into a cakewalk.
I only need around 1700 more collectables to get the Platinum in FF14 I actually use spearfishing as that is still fairly quick and you can grind Earthbreak Aethersand with it so you can also make some gil it still takes ages

The trophy for defeating Weiss is the only one I have from this list, but I don't think it's quite that bad. Not sure I'd consider it near impossible. Penance from Final Fantasy X is a more difficult superboss than Weiss. Penance requires hours of mindless grinding and customizing specific weapons and armor. It's the long grinding trophies that I find most difficult. There is another trophy in FFX called Perfect Sphere Master where you need to complete the sphere grid for every character. That includes filling every empty node with an attribute sphere as well. I grinded enough to defeat Penance but I could not be bothered to keep grinding to complete every character's sphere grid.
Also, screw the jump rope minigame in FFIX.
The difference is, with Penance, you can say "screw the rules, I have money" and defeat him with one blow.
I have the fishing trophy from FF XV. Best fishing in any video game I've ever played. Absolutely loved it.
I got the blessed by all trophy for FFXV comrades in 2023. I’m a completionist who likes getting platinum trophies but for me, a platinum is no good if it’s not 100%. So I did the trick where I downgraded the game using a laptop as a proxy server. Seems complicated, but the instructions are very good. As long as you follow step by step, it’s very doable. Beating Ifrit was hard, but as long as you grind the missions and level up, you should be able to beat him.
I stopped playing FF XIV 3 years ago but back then, all my classes were maximised... I could try this sidequest... Living off the land. I used to love to gather / harvest.
For FFXIV you should have used solo Palace of the Dead instead of getting 8k collectables. You have to go down 200 floors. If you die once, you have to start back at floor 1. Oh, and if you disconnect, you have to start back at floor 1. As floors progress the monsters get tougher and tougher. Near the end, there's stuff that can one shot you.
120 hours of FFXIV gathering is nothing! You can knock that out leisurely while waiting six years to earn the achievement for 5,000 levequests!

FF7Rs pride and joy challenge was the most painful but rewarding trophy I’ve had in all of FF. Took me a week to beat itbut damn it felt good when I finished it. Same goes for the hard mode, took me forever to beat the final boss and even got the wrong team mate towards the end but when I finished it I felt so proud of my self lol
The ironic thing for me was, I hit a wall with the Bahamut fight, and by the time I actually pulled off a win on him, PJ went down almost disappointingly easily.

@@lanfear963 My issue was that the boss run version of Bahamut was powerful enough that he could one shot my party with Megaflare, even if I had magic barrier, and a maxed out HP plus on each character. Needless to say, at that level, I couldn't do enough damage to him fast enough to take him down before Megaflare hit.
Bahamut was way tougher for me. I wrecked Pride and Joy first try but Bahamut took me forever.
I got the Remake Platinum on PS4 back when the game came out. I just finished Crisis Core Reunion a couple weeks ago and currently re-playing Remake on the PS5 for the first time just to refresh myself with the story before Rebirth and then I plan on doing the Yuffie DLC. If I understand this right though, there are DLC trophies attached to the base game (or at least 1). I thought they were all tied to the Yuffie episode but looks like I'll have to play the game again on Hard to finish the new trophies which I did not plan on doing 😭
That FF14 Achievement is ok, but no mention of the trio of Achievements that need 5000 Levequests for each type of Leve, Battle, Crafting, and Gathering. Which, you only can accept if you have some leve allowance. Which you get 6 a day, and can only hold a max of 100 if you stop doing the quests for a while. Basically, you are hard time-gated by these achievements that will take literal years(six to seven) do to them all.

On thing about the Weiss fight that the video gets wrong is his Emasculate End isn’t triggered by his phase shifting. It’s actual on a hard 4 minute timer where he will do it once every 4 minutes regardless of phase shifting. The fight is essentially a DPS race where the almost max time limit you have is 12 minutes since you can have 2 survive lethal damages on you via weapon and accessory per try. The reason I say “almost” is because it is actually possible to survive it by maxing out your defense stats, having barrier up, and having high enough HP as it will do like 6000-7000 damage instead. Also, you can’t use Aerith’s limit break to survive it as it goes through the invincible status effect.

Defeating Emerald was the saddest part of my ff7 career. I had done it, it was over. No more things to collect, no more bosses to fight. All was done
with 125+ def, enouph hp and barrier Weiss 's Immaculate End attack ist survivable cause its classed as an physical attack. its even with rise+ enough mp hard af cause u simple havn't enough time 2 rebuf ur party before the next immaculate End, and in the fast-physic-phase he regain hp based on damage delt, so without damageing tactics u never get him down and he drain the mp for restore/regen/rise u need 2 survive. its best to counter his moves cause u prevent more damage u otherwise need 2 heal or dodge 2 survive his End-Strike. a combined regen-all+counterstance works best for the average players, all others simple need to learn every line of moves and the frametime for counter or dodge his moves, bullettime is ur best friend here. its hard but very satisfying 2 survive the 1st minute without any heavy damage and stagger him the 1st time. its doable but need endurance
8000 collectables might be the grindiest *trophy* in FFXIV, but it's far from the grindiest *achievement*. Most achievement hunters agree that the worst are the achievements for completing 5000 combat levequests, 5000 crafter levequests, and 5000 gatherer levequests. Not only are leves mind-numbingly boring and outdated content, but you only get 6 leve allowances per day, and they cap at 100. If you use all of your allowances without ever letting them go to waste, it takes MORE THAN 2 YEARS PER ACHIEVEMENT.
There's also an achievement for winning a total of 1 million MGP from the Jumbo Cactpot, which you can play 3 times per week and gives around 1000 MGP per play when you don't win. This similarly takes a few years to complete con average due to the time restrictions, but if you get really really lucky you can cut down the time by a lot. There's also the Custom Delivery achievements which are similarly time-locked taking around 2 years to get all of them from scratch (and more get added every few patches). Also the Hunt trophies for 5000 S-ranks and 10,000 A-ranks, since across an entire data center only a couple dozen S-ranks and A-rank trains will happen on a good day, and if you're not playing 24/7 you'll probably miss most of them.
In terms of achievements that require actual skill and aren't just time-gated, the hardest ones are probably for beating each of the Deep Dungeons solo without ever wiping. For those who don't know, Deep Dungeons are a rougelike-esque side activity that's normally balanced for parties of 4. The first DD has 200 floors and the other two have 100 floors. I think it's obvious why beating one of those solo without dying is a big deal.
For me its any trophy that requires me to do a minigame. Or specifically, do WELL in a minigame. It's like sure I'll grind for hours to create a party strong enough to sucker punch a god but I really don't wanna become a master of Red Light Green Light just for a trophy :/
I will never waste my time on trophies ever again. I forget which game broke me, but that realization that hours of my life would be spent in mental anguish for just a digital medal.
Although close, Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced did come out 6 months before Crystal Chronicles did. So not quite the first on a Nintendo system after 10 years.
I like the idea of this video. People rarely go over rare or non-platinum trophies from DLC expansions that don't have their own platinum.

I only defeated Weiss because his AI crashed towards the end and he stopped moving entirely. 😅
It took me like 30 tries to beat Weiss. Once you know the pattern and how to stagger him it becomes doable, but once I beat him I never went back lol
I feel like there is a good, wider conversation to be had about trophies in the Final Fantasy series. I don't normally hunt trophies in most games, but every now and then if I get a game I love, I'll chase a Platinum trophy as long as it doesn't require anything insanely grindy or have some trophies tied to an online PVP mode. The Final Fantasy series is the one series I want to get all the platinums for just because of how much I have loved the games since the first one dropped for the NES, but I honestly also feel like the FF series has possibly some of the worst trophies I have ever seen.
In non-FF games, the first thing I look at when tempted to try for a platinum trophy is if the game has any missable trophies. I want to be able to enjoy the game as I play it, and then do that "cleanup" work later as needed. The FF games are all so far in the opposite direction that it's crazy. You basically can't get the trophies without following extremely strict guides that you need to check almost every screen, to make sure you're not missing a bestiary entry or a treasure or something else in a one-time visit location.
I really wish they'd come up with some trophies that can be challenging while still allowing you to freely enjoy the game.
I'm happy to say I'm one of the few to have taken down the Immaculate One. Barely.

That amount of Trapezohedrons or whatever they are called is ridiculous, 1% drop rate on Shaolong Gui or something like that.
Is the lightning bolt dodge in here? If so, I did this before it was a trophy. Was made a whole lot easier when you turned the sound off and just looked for the flash of light.
I have blessed by all. I didn't realize it was rare, but it does say only 1.3% of players have achieved it. Woah, you may have inspired some people when you put this up yesterday because it just went up to 1.4% as I was typing. I played with AI but I prefer it that way. I have it on PS4, but I got blessed by all when I grabbed it again on steam. I bought Remake when it was new on PS4 and haven't went through it again since Intergrade. I'm saving it for right before Rebirth releases on PC. I think that's the only other one of these I'll ever go for.
I'm a few chapters away from taking on Weiss again. And, I'll admit that I'm not skilled enough to do it consistently. So, I'm expecting a several hour grind in the near future.
I've done it once before, but on a friend's account when Integrade first came out. It's going to be nice to have that platinum associated with my own account very soon 🙂
Yeah the weis fight was ridiculous. It was bad enough with 3 party members. I did it. The yuffie one was even worse with 2 party members. I did it though. I platinumed ff7 remake and ff7 reunion. The minerva fight was ridiculous
It's entirely expected that the older games would have lower trophy completion percentages because the average person buying it is doing so to relive their childhood when they actually had time to 100% everything.
I platinumed Monsters of the Deep, it’s the reason I bought the PSVR.
I believe it is still my rarest trophy (in terms of people who actually have it globally).
I have to say after getting the platinum in rebirth, defeating Weiss was a cakewalk
The only one I've actively tried to obtain is the Immaculate trophy from FF7 Remake. I gave up on it after numerous attempts.

This is basically "7 Trophies that are hard, sure, but are more likely so rare because no one has the game they are in, or are online trophies that no one usually get anyway" other than 7 remake
Absolutely loved the ff7 remake, several hundred hours i put into and it was enjoyable, got all trophies fairly easy, well except the tifa mini game trophy. I ranked it up there with the jump rope mini game levels of annoyance.
I beat Weiss and I got all FFXIV trophies. However, they reset on my PSN with Shadowbringers (possibly Stormblood? I've only noticed in Shadowbringers), yet my account seems to still consider that I have earned them, so I cannot farm them back. Thank you SE.

Jokes aside, as much i would love a FF13 trilogy remastered for Next Gen. I dread doing Treasure Hunter again.
Hot take. Final Fantasy Remake has less viable play options than its 1997 counterpart. It takes away the need to "grind" and the ability to over level your enemy. And replaces it with oddly specific gameplay mechanics. So essentially instead of being a "play your way" approach its now a "do this or lose" game. Which is very limiting, and why the game feels very unfulfilling. The combat is the best part, and it gets quite stale after a while since they only want to punish a certain gameplay rather than encourage all types of play.
Weiss isn't nearly so bad because it's a single round, it was more frustrating getting to Intergrade's Pride and Joy after having to deal with Bahamut and Ramuh.
The FFXIV collectible trophies were horrible it took me 2 weeks of farming to get it. Still can't believe I'm in the top 10 on the leaderboard for the Platinum.
I think the only games that I've played from this list were Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy VII Remake/Intergrade, and Final Fantasy XV: Comrades. I believe I got the Comrades trophy as I remember loving the expansion, though I did quite before completing some of the additional content from the various updates. I definitely got the trophy for beating Weiss in Intergrade, though he wasn't as bad as that Shinra Box Buster minigameX0
I finally beat Weiss for the first time the other day and so decided to 100% the intergrade trophies after. The hardest was the box mini game trophy.
year it's touph, but with an dmg only setup and realy good movement it's doable. I hate it that u cannot Miss at least a few little boxes, happens twice i got finally all big ones and was 200 short

I used to be a huge trophy hunter. The passion is lost when you swap consoles and lose a decade worth of trophies. At least it was lost for me.
I'm currently pushing for the FF7 remake platinum before rebirth. Finishing up chapter 17, and Just need all the hard mode-related trophies and the Weiss trophy 👌
when trophies no longer have to do with skill but just a time sink. someone should've gotten fired for it.
taking Weiss down was bloody hard, you see all these speed runs of him but if you have not played the game enough to know the controls and you attempt it, he will kill you in seconds if your not careful

FFXVI don't have too hard trophies, they didn't included Ultimaniac mode into the list. Somewhere I understand why, Ultimaniac is brutal as fuck but also, seeing only 200-500 names in the complete list of score is pretty sad, because even if 10x more peoples are running it, trying to achieve it it's still very few among the whole playerbase
There’s trophies and achievements that are near impossible to achieve for a variety of reasons.
And then there’s not getting a key Steam achievement (for beating Final Fantasy XIII for example) because Steam just decided not to grant it for no reason.

Patching FFXV Comrades is possible as I did it a year or so ago and got all the trophies from the expansions.
It was a bit of a grind but I managed to do it by myself.
Still need to get some of the trophies of the stand alone version though, the boss fights that I'm missing are hard as heck and doing it by myself is not cutting it 😩
