  • Should you do HBOT every day? Watch this video to find out!
    ►► Get certified in HBOT: www.hbotusa.co...
    We often see comments & questions about doing HBOT every day, or even sleeping in the chamber.
    But just because Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a great tool doesn’t mean more is always better.
    Is it possible to overdo HBOT sessions?
    In this video we’ll discuss two aspects of this conversation: The safety and the effectiveness of doing HBOT every day.
    And in this discussion, safety really isn’t a huge concern.
    If you’re doing HBOT at a clinic, and that clinic is trained and trustworthy, it’s very unlikely that they’ll allow you to do too much HBOT from a safety perspective (avoiding oxygen toxicity).
    If you have a soft chamber and do HBOT on your own, it’s also very unlikely that you’ll do too much HBOT from a safety perspective. At such low pressures, it’s almost impossible to reach oxygen toxicity levels.
    So a lot of this discussion is centered around the effectiveness of doing HBOT every day.
    Is it effective? Or is there a better strategy?
    Watch the video and find out.

    Been using my 1.5 ata chamber for 11 months now 60-80 blocks 90 to 60 minute sessions then two -4 week breaks. Along with hydrogen inhalation and water from Lourdes hydrofix. Nearly two years since the jab I’d say I’m 90% recovered what a nightmare and a wild journey. Had myocarditis along with many many other things. Hopefully another year I’ll be 100%. The TL;DR is, there are diminishing returns, and in his experience, there's no point to doing super long sessions 7 days a week instead of 5, or continuing nonstop for over 3 months... take a break.
    There is no information in the video about potential health dangers from too much HBOT, it basically seems safe when used normally.

    I have been using my low-pressure (1.3 Atmospheres (4 psi) chamber for 65 minutes, twice a day, for 3 weeks to treat concussion symptoms, with excellent results. I use an oxygen condenser (not enriched oxygen) with a cannula. However, I recently started having mild irritation in my bronchial passage (itching, mild mucosal production, mild coughing) and some mild irritation/heaviness in my lungs. Im now taking a week break to measure results and benefits and gauge symptoms. I think there is a slight variation among different people's sensitivity to higher oxygen levels.

    Im 32 years old, am on a ventilator through a trach, have a slew of neurological conditions, have a feeding tube, neurogenic bladder, neuromuscular weakness, and many other conditions. My Chiropractor has a Mild Hyperbaric Chamber, specifically an OxyAir 32 model, and I have a VOCSN ventilator which is compatible with mild hyperbaric chamber therapy. Well I have a lot of conditions and I wanted to see if I could benefit from a few sessions in the Hyperbaric chamber, but due to my medical conditions, and the seizures I had a few months ago, my chiropractor refuses to put me in the Hyperbaric Chamber. I KID YOU NOT! He won't put me in there. He's denied me access. And I think it's a load of garbage, because I have a great mental capacity, I'm not going to try to get out of the chamber when it's at full pressure. I know the pressure cannot be reduced from 40 KPA all of the sudden, and I would just lie in there, quietly for the hour and 15 minutes patients are in there, but the guy refuses to put me in. I told them I would be safe in there, but he said "NO!" So that's not happenin. Which I think it not right! You know, even my Primary Care Physician thinks and told the Chiropractor that I could benefit. And the Chiropractor told me to consult with him, but when I did, the chiropractor decided to deny me access. So I'm switching Chiropractors!

    Clearly, HBOT is not a targeted protocol as it treats the whole body. I'm looking to purchase a chamber and am still in the research stage. What determines pressure and time? How would I know what to use? I've ordered your book. Does it answer this? Is 10 l/min of oxygen enough at 2.0? So many questions. Great videos. They've helped a lot.

    • @HBOTUSA
      @HBOTUSA  Рік тому +3

      Those answers are dependent on what someone is trying to accomplish, how well they tolerate the therapy, how much available time they have and how much of a rush they are in. There is no single answer to that but when you’re ready we can make a protocol for you.

As their is in the scientific literature extensive laboratory and clinical evidence supporting the role of Ozone in blood vessel protection and Endothelial Cell function: Ozone has been shown to improve: hemodynamic stress, hazardous NOS activity, endothelial cell function, oxidative stress, is vasoprotective, anti inflammatory, lowers blood pressure and has vasodilatory properties. In a monochamber, if the power went out during a session, there is no problem. It simply means that the compressor can't pressurize the chamber much further. If the oxygen supply is from a cylinder, there is no interruption. If there is an oxygen concentrator and pressurizer machine that runs on electricity, then simply decompress the chamber and end session. No danger.
    That said, I agree, sleeping in a sealed chamber is not a good choice.

    • @HBOTUSA
      @HBOTUSA  10 місяців тому +3

      The answers may not be that clear… some run on compressed air. Other on o2 pressure alone. Some air filled chambers will maintain there pressure in that situation and others will lose pressure if the compressor stops. The point is to know your equipment understand the risks and have a plan for the different challenges that may present themselves.

    I have a SAFETY question: In this video you discussed duration and briefly you mentioned decompression sickness. I am under the care of a naturopath. I have asked my doctor questions regarding pressure, altitude and duration. I am a well trained scuba diver so dive tables are within my skillset. The HBOT chamber that we own is a hard chamber (likely the same manufacturer as your HBOT chambers, with multiple relief valves from 1.3 to 2.4 ATA). I live at 5,000 feet. Is there a risk of DCS based on my altitude, duration and treatment ATA's? A typical treatment for me is at 2.0 ATA (at our elevation of 5,000 feet). Duration: 20 minutes pressurizing to 2.0 ATA, then 1 hour at pressure, then decompressing for 15-20 minutes. We are using ambient air for the HBOT, a nasal cannula providing oxygen from a concentrator. Soon my treatment plan will put me a 2.2 ATA and later 2.4 ATA. Let's please discuss DCS, altitude, duration and possibly safety stops. Thanks.

If the ratings of your relief valves and readings on your gauges are absolute, then you should account for the local altitude and add that, if the ratings are relative to your local altitude then the local altitude wouldn't be a factor. I don't know how gauges and valves are calibrated, but they may be affected by the local altitude.

    First, thanks for these videos. I'm confused about you talking about DCS not being an issue @6:05 for soft chambers. How is DCS ever a concern at any pressure (1.,3, 1.5, or 2.0 ATA) when you're breathing close to 100% O2 and it's the N2 that causes DCS but unlike diving on air, you're not breathing N2.
    For that matter, as a diver, the whole point of nitrox is to increase O2, decrease N2, and give me more bottom time and less chance of DCS. If I could dive with 100% O2, I'd have unlimited bottom time, and no risk of DCS, wouldn't you agree?
    (of course the issue with too much O2 is O2 toxicity which is an issue for divers, and limits how deep we can go, and why we don't dive with 100% O2, since our maximum depth would be too low for the dive to be worth it)

    • @HBOTUSA
      @HBOTUSA  10 місяців тому

      Yes I agree. Not everyone is using enriched o2 some people dive on air and so in those cases the risks in the chambers are basically the same as the risks diving in water which especially at lower pressures is still very safe

    Wait... isn't oxygen bad when given too much at higher concentrates? It causes oxidative breakdown and stress within the body (oxidation). The entire reason we need powerful antioxidants, to stay healthy and alive, is to limit the stress oxygen already does (and that's at the amounts we utilize normally). Loads of studies showing damage to lungs, etc. also using high concentrates of oxygen for extended periods of time.

    • @HBOTUSA
      @HBOTUSA  Рік тому +2

      You’re partially correct but that is only a very small part of the story. Oxidation is also a necessary cell signaling molecule that stimulates repair and regeneration, hormone synthesis and reduce inflammation. We have done a bunch of videos on that topic as well.

    I've heard that to much can cause oxidative stress which can damage the kidneys and possibly other organs in the long run.

    • @HBOTUSA
      @HBOTUSA  3 місяці тому

      @@Oceanadventures777 certainly too much of anything, even a good thing, can’t have consequences. The real answer to that is it depends on what pressure we’re talking about the frequency and duration of sessions and how healthy the person is. Generally speaking, the moderately healthy person could tolerate the oxidative stress very well, and in fact becomes more resilientand more tolerant of oxidative stress by doing more sessions. But doing too many sessions are too high of a pressure for too long of a time or in someone that’s more unhealthy those consequences increased dramatically.

    Hello, I'm an airline pilot and fly 3-4 days a week. My wife just tried an HBOT session and she wants me to try it, thinks it might heal some injuries or what not (getting older). How much time after a session should I wait before I go flying? The person told my wife to wait 12 hours before flying, that seemed low to me. I'm guessing it depends on the duration and pressure. I live at 3000' as well if that matters. Thanks!

    • @HBOTUSA

      @@nigelcobalt it depends on the pressure of the chamber and % of oxygen you are getting.
      If it’s air only 12-24 hrs is appropriate depending pressure and depth.
      If you’re definitely getting 100% there would be almost no wait time.

    I have a question about the longterm effects of hyperoxia.
    I am a me/cfs (post covid) patient and use my soft chamber every day at home for 60-90 minutes or sometimes two 60 minute sessions.
    I noticed that after 1.5 months of continous sessions the problem of being short on oxygen when i‘m outside the chamber seems to increase. Both from meassuring with a pulsoxymeter and my subjective sensation.
    Is the body adjusting to the higher oxygen supply inside the chamber, so that outside i‘m picking up too little oxygen?
    I heard from a practitioner that he recommends taking off the mask inside the chamber every 15 minutes for 5 minutes to prevent problems like that. Would you recommend that?
    Thank you for the amazing videos on your channel!! Helped me tremendously!

      It is possible to get a chamber for home use and use it on your own. It just may take a little longer to depressurize because you can't turn off the compressor (which pressurizes the chamber). So you open the release valve more and eventually hit the point where more pressure is being released vs. added.
      Shoot us an email at support@hbotusa.com to discuss the right solution for you in your home!
