Thanks for providing this video. I just tried it on my 2001 Grand Caravan & it worked excellent! My speedo quit working yesterday & assuming the worst I thought that it would be much more difficult & time consuming to repair
Thank you,Thank you,Thank you. i replace a couple of burnt out pc74 dash lights. plugged back in and the speedo and tach pegged and wouldn't move. i disconnected the battery thinking that would reset the dash but no it didn't. I thought NOW WHAT, then i stumbled across your video while looking for troubleshooting the dash got my voltmeter in my hand ready to tear apart the dash, BUT then i saw your post and ran outside to see if it would work. 9:30pm with sandals on in the dark (couldn't wait) IT WORKED. Amen
So glad it worked for you man ☺️ I did the same thing when I found it out, it was late at night and I ran out to see if it would work and it sure did 😃 now I think it's my most viewed video lol
I just replaced the pc74 dash lights just yesterday and noticed that when handling the instrument cluster and turning it over, the needles spin freely and can rotate around the dial to the other side of the peg. When this happens it is not easy to see, so check the needle position before installing the cluster. If the needles are on the wrong side of the peg, turn it on it's head and rotate it in a way to let the needles rotate back where they belong.
Fixed my daily driver Caravan perfectly. Was looking to pick up a guage cluster at the local junkyard. They wanted $125 to special order one because they had none in the yard. 😀😁 who's smiling now 👍I'm subscribed!!!
Awesome man! Glad I could help! I found this trick out by accident, our van gets stuck all the time on the speedo, so now everyone in the house knows how to fix it lol
So can a obd reset your car too and when you reset it and set comes on do you leave the switch on when it going through it cycle or turn it completely off while it's going through the cycle hope can get what I'm saying lol
I got a little lost with that lol, but that’s ok I think I got the gist of what you’re saying. I’m not sure if you can do the same with the OBDII port, I’m sure you could with a high end scan tool that cost thousands lol. This is the free way, and in my experience, once you get it to start the cycle I’ve just left the key in the position that starts the cycle (it takes a few tries so I can’t remember exactly what position the key is in lol)
I have no power going to the gauges at all any ideas? They come on randomly but as soon as I use my blinker they cut off again and my blinker stops working.
Hi. I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan SE 3.3 gas. My gas guage needle stuck as full it was stuck on half tank I filled it up now just stuck all the way to the top, if I do this will that fix it?
Good evening my friend I have a problem with the gear transmission I climbed on the hill on the contrary and the sound of his beating came out under my feet and then the back tigress disappeared I step on gasoline without return if possible An answer to this case knowing that my car is a model 2007 3300
Hunter, you saved my @ss and $$$! Trying to sell my Chrysler Town and Country (virtually the same car as a Dodge Caravan) and my speedo and tach failed. Your video worked perfectly. The only difference is the accessory position on my Chrysler is all the way counter-clockwise. Cheers!
Would this work of the computer is acting up and having issues with shifting? We had our transmission rebuilt and ever since we left the mechanic it's been acting up
Aubree Carter unfortunately this would not fix the issue, however a few years ago we had a transmission problem and it went into limp mode, I replaced the shift solenoid which on mine was right on the outside of the transmission, really easy fix even if you’ve never done it, believe me it would save money if y’all do It ☺️ took me about an hour in the driveway, didn’t lose much fluid either , I work in a parts store as well and they cost about 170$ give or take. Hope this helps 😊 you guys are welcome to text me if you need anything else just send me a message for the number or email me at pcwizard321@gmail.com
I have a 2002 dodge grand caravan sport it is stuck in limp mode cant get over 25 mph, on ce it reaches 25mph the speedometer goes crazy, will this fix my problem? I changed both speed sensors, and got a shift solenoid from junkyard but it was doing the samething, so i took the junkyard part out and put my original shift solenoid back in plus mines looked alot better than the junkyard one. My codes are p0700 and p0750 everytime I clear the codes the same 2 codes come right back when i pull off a drive not far at all
No, it will not. If your ABS light is constantly on, then there's something wrong with that system. This isn't a magical "fix everything on the dash" trick. This trick only works with faults in the dash itself. You may want to check your speed sensors and anything else associated with the ABS system. Hope this helps! Take care. :)
Ngl, that’s hilarious 😂 if only it worked that way. Sadly the mileage is stored in the ECU and can only be “changed” by having a new ECU, which by law has to be programmed with the mileage. This only resets the gauge cluster itself, just tests the lights and position of each needle, plus side is when it checks the needles, any that are stuck but still operate, will move back to their default position.
Thanks for watching! I'm so glad it helped you out 😊 on our van we have to do that once every couple months lol, idk what's up with that but at least it only takes a minute or two to fix lol
Vanessa Pierce I’m not exactly sure why it does it, but I do know that it’s a common dodge problem especially with these vans. Only thing I can think of is maybe a voltage problem in the cluster that causes it to randomly spin around but who knows, but I can tell you that since I’ve changed the alternator on the van, it hasn’t done it and all the other electrical issues that it had before are also gone
@@customengravingsbyhuntersh657 you think it might fix the little Bucking it does? After it's been ran a wile when I put her in a gear she almost hesitates then give more gas and it's fine. It's fine wile I am already in drive mode
Vanessa Pierce it’s possible, when ours was bucking and such like that, it was the shift solenoid, it’s about 250$ but that’s the way mine was. Feel free to text me if You’d like, 251-295-1799
I have a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan I am having trouble with all my dash lights , the needles on all the dashboard start flickering and I took it to garage they couldn’t figure it out . I tried your video and everything went like you said but it doesn’t start now it just makes a clicking noise. My lights work , the buzzer sounds off when door is open but won’t start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can’t afford new car need help!!!
Might wanna see if you can get it to a shop to have it looked at, you might have a computer issue. Might cost more but take it to the dealership, dont just take it to some shop down the road, dealership is a bit expensive but 9 out of 10 chances the wont lie to you or take advantage of you
Gerardo Cuarez so did it go through a calibration sequence like mine? If the fuel gauge didn't move then you may need to replace to servo motor for that gauge, it's easy if you know how to solder, if you don't then you just need a new cluster, all gauges should move and go through the sequence.
@@customengravingsbyhuntersh657 My problems started first with the lights, then I find out the light switch is not a switch, the computer controls the lights. After reading about these problems on the DodgeForum.com, I am not going spend the money for the replacement of the computer.
I had another problem, the wipers and turn signals stopped working. I replaced the MF switch, that did not fix. Took the van to auto electrical repair, the problem was wires under the dash. Now everything is okay.
@@timogreenwold122 glad you got it figured out man! Only problem we have turn signal wise is on the 2002 but the issue with that is the clock spring, the signals don't click off on their own and the horn doesn't work 99% of the time
@@customengravingsbyhuntersh657 Thanks,The repair bill was about the same as the cost of the switch. Small wires , with lose connections or getting pinched can give strange problems. I had that experience with telephone and alarm systems. Stay save from COVID 19

Yes u actually don’t even need to turn on the van just turn it off and press the button for a few seconds it will reset it self without cycling the key on and off
usually it only works on the ones with the trip reset button on the dash. 2009 was a major body style change and i believe is when they moved the button to the turn signal stock.
Your Nostrilioliolees not a problem, I figured out the root cause of the issue, apparently for a few years the alternator had been bad but never actually tested bad. But once I replaced it, all the little issues went away.
This also worked for my 2003 Dodge Caravan’s instrument cluster lights (with headlights on). Now my lights work. Thanks so much.
