People don’t understand what boxers do for each other. Just because it’s not the fight YOU want to watch. These fighters have family to feed and a payday from Canelo for Yildrim to take back to Turkey is a lot of money.
He is set for life, just three rounds and he could retire if he wanted.
Poor & disappointing translation from the guy translating...and NO Canelo’s success is NOT the ONLY good news coming out of Mexico! That is the narrowest view possible as if all that exists is boxing in Mexico! I can understand how we can feel this way given the extremely difficult time we are living but it is NOT true that Canelo is the ONLY good news happening in Mexico. Everywhere in Mexico there are good things happening but people CHOOSE to focus on the negative as does happen in many other places. ive said it many times, the 2nd GGG fight changed Canelo. Abel sanchez taunted Canelo to fight "mexican style" and to do it against GGG, the most feared fighter people thought it was crazy. Canelo fought toe to toe mexican style the 2nd fight and it proved to himself that if he can walk down GGG he can walk down anybody. that fight changed Canelos whole fighting style period.. now he walks you down and whips ur ass

Why are Fights like that Happening
Well, the No. 1 classified is Benavidez, WBC's top contender at this point, but Benavidez was already committed to fighting Ellis (No. 8) in March. Dirrell (No. 4) defeated Yildrim but was then KOed by Benavidez and didn't fight at all during 2020. There were negotiations for a Canelo-Lemieux (No. 3) fight last year, but team Lemieux didn't want his fighter to risk his own title for little money (pandemic, no live audience, etc.). Since Alvarez already defeated Jacobs (No. 5) and Smith (No. 6), Yildrim (No. 2) was the next best thing.

Benavidez only held the title for 11 months, most of them of pandemic, and right after Benavidez won the title the "coward" and "cherry picker" you mention was fighting and defeating the WBO world light heavyweight champion. Then in December 2020 this "coward" was facing the unbeaten Callum Smith for the title stupid Benavidez lost on the scale.
Benavidez should take better care of himself instead of accusing Canelo and Saunders and Plant and everyone else of avoiding him. If Benavidez earns and keeps a 168lbs world title during the following 18 months, chances are he will fight Canelo.
