Indubbiamente con una chiglia a siluro le possibilità che questa si infili in una rete abbandonata o qualche cosa di simile sono più elevate, per questo barche tipicamente da crociera non la montano, ma dal punto di vista delle performance, la chiglia a siluro offre degli indubbi vantaggi.
