So the irony is that he makes machines and fused with them is a nice homage to a classic folk story .

3:45... the moment he decided he would become Steel. This is during the Doomsday event. They literally made a character from a bystander who was caught in the destructive path of Doomsday. I always thought that was cool.
Not to mention he saved (on multiple occasions) the lives of Superman, Aquaman, Supergirl, Wondergirl, Hawkman, Cyborg, Green Arrow, Lex Luther, almost every Green Lantern and even helped Batman save a rebuild the Watchtower ijs 💪👍💪
