      Brett, good morning. I have a question about the value about Murray vs. Rosen. Since Murray has the option to take off with his legs wouldn't that make him more versatile and dangerous to NFL defenses. And say the Cards were to run some option plays and make the run game have two runners instead of one (Murray and Johnson) instead of just Johnson, that would make defenses come up more and the play action would open up and so would the deep ball. Wouldn't this make Murray more valuable than Rosen. I would like to know your take on this. Great vid, keep it up

    At 13:50. In the air raid its key to find grass in that system. That's what the receiver did. If he would've stayed with his route #2, the corner from Texas would've stopped him. If #2, the corner would've stayed with his receiver #14, the receiver would've kept running his crossing route. It beats zone and man coverage and receivers in this offense is taught to find grass. Nothing more nothing less. Great video btw

    I always thought the Air Raid was a gimmicky system that only could work in college football. I stand corrected.

    • @tripleoo0
      @tripleoo0 5 років тому +4

      The Air Raid isn't gimmicky, it just requires a lot of coordination within your offense. To run it right, you need every cog in the machine to work. All the players on the field have to be in sync, the coaches and QB have to make the right reads and calls, and the front office has to find players who are as adaptable as they are talented. You're not going to run it successfully by drafting D.K. Metcalf and giving him 20 designed targets a game. It's not even about maximizing talent; it's about shifting the focus of the game from pure talent to IQ across the board. The Air Raid takes the comparisons between football and chess and makes them as apparent as possible; everyone has a role, and everyone needs to be able to adjust that role depending on what your opponent is doing.

    • @williejohnson5172
      @williejohnson5172 5 років тому +3

      What I have learned over the years is that the NFL intentionally puts out false narratives to support their brand and certain favored players. You notice how everybody not in the know call it "gimmicky"? That word and perception has been put out there on purpose. This is also way the perception of certain players are so far removed from reality.

    Top shelf quality video.
    You absolutely take Kyler Murray if you went all in on Kliff. You don't go all in, then go half in. Not only is his arm just as good as Rosen's, his pocket presence, poise and locker room leadership is the tipping point.
    Not to mention Kyler's athleticism can get you out of poor line play allowing more immediate success as you are rebuilding structure around the QB. Oh, and you can adapt the playbook with quarterback option. 3rd down becomes scary with Kyler vs one dimensional with Josh.
    The point difference advantage from day one with Kyler is more than any other move in this draft, and when it comes to bottom line stats, this is the most impactful number that determines your success. You are also getting value for Rosen, they won't give him up for free.
    You take Kyler since you gambled on Kliff. The entire philosophy behind the decision was to dominate on the offensive side of the ball, create franchise momentum and build from that success, otherwise you don't hire a fired 500 coach from an average FBS team.
    My money is Kyler is picked #1 otherwise it signifies a lack of agreement on franchise vision which means Arizona fans can forget about playoffs the next 5 years.

      @@torbenelbers7075 I would like the Cardinals to trade out of the number one overall pick. But I think it is unlikely because most teams know that they can get a good quarterback without the #1 pick. I would be fine with either Quinnen Williams or Kyler Murray. Not Bosa because he wouldn't fit Vance Joseph's scheme as a 4-3 defensive end. I think that we should just keep both quarterbacks if we draft Murray and give him a year to develop. Hopefullly Rosen will have a productive season and will have more trade value next offseason.

The only reason I'm worried about Bosa is his lack of production against better lineman, and I really don't want him going into flats or hook zones on 1st and 2nd down. I feel like the Cardinals don't always make the best use of the talent we have. An example of this is Haasan Reddik. Reddik was a OLB or a DE coming out of temple and we tried to make him an inside linebacker. I guess they thought he could be a Dion Jones clone, I'm not really sure. Just to be clear, I think Bosa will be amazing, I just don't think we will use him to our greatest potential.

    Another excellent video, Brett. Love everything you produce.
    A couple of questions about Kingsbury and his offense.
    1. How do you think his offense works with the different rules in the pros, specifically the way the hash mark positions prevent the same amount of space you get in college football.
    2. How do you think Kingsbury is different from other college-only-experience offensive coaches who came into the NFL and ultimately failed (thinking of the likes of Spurrier, Chip Kelly, Erickson, etc.). People keep comparing him to Sean McVay but I don't see paralells as McVay has come up basically living in the NFL, whereas Kingsbury hasn't.
    3. How long do you think it will take NFL teams to adjust to this offense, since, to date we're yet to see a specific offense (or defense for that matter) be unbeatable and that it still comes down to quality players?
