Oh PLEASE come back and tell me what you think, it's my happy place book, I wish it was on Audible lol, for Audible when I need that happy place it's either The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaimen or Sunshine by Robin McKinley lol
The change in Wands and Swords are the same for me, it has always made more sense to me as wooden wands were once in a tree blowing in the breeze and swords are forged in fire and are action based. Love it!
I love that wands are air and swords are fire. I have always struggled with them any other way! Swords to be are destructive like fire and wands you wave in the air and are usually waved for healing.
Dragon story recommendation. May be out of print, my copy is from the 70's , but an interesting dragon perspective is Gordon R Dickson " The Dragon and the George." It's an easy read but very enjoyable.
I bought this deck after watching your review. It arrived today and I adore it. I have two other decks by Lisa Hunt. But think this one is my favourite. The artwork is so clear. I also have the iPhone app with the guidebook. I love being able to enlarge the image for an even larger view of the card. Thanks so much for your great review. 😃
So in am teaching about dragons in my Mystery School, and I realize that Out of my full collection of cards I don't have dragons, wow 😩 so I started looking and thank you for this, I am for sure getting this, love it!!!! beautiful deck!!! you are the best!!! thank you for your time!!!
The book sounds awesome! I have a soft spot for fantasy (and creatures attributed to fantasy) as well, and the further I step on the "spiritual" path, the more I realize that there is much more to the universe than we are able to perceive with our earthly senses ;)
I just ordered this deck after watching this! You should watch the old animated movie, The Flight of Dragons if you haven't. It's a fantastic classic! Thanks for the great videos!
You must be a fan of "Game of Thrones" with your love of dragons and if you haven't watched it you must, it's absolutely spectacular. Dragons have always represented protection to me.
I love your walkthroughs because they are very detailed and in-depth. I went on a shopping spree in the late summer/early fall when I discovered your channel. I know you buy a lot of decks, and I was wondering if you could do a little video showing what were your favorite Lenormand, oracle and tarot decks of the year. I am genuinely interested in knowing why they are your favorites, too. If you have the time -- I know you are very busy.
+SputnikTripulator Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy the reviews and I love the idea of showing my favorites of the year and will definitely do that!
Kelly thank you so much for reviewing this deck and you thoughts on the cards. It was really helpful and I decide to order the deck. I love dragons and I don't think there are many really good dragon decks out there.
Hi Kelly, very pleased to see such deep and accurate reviews on the decks, you definitely spend some time to honor these decks, thank you! As far as I know, you are probably the best one that I can see so far to ask the following question: ~ Aside from the Celtic Dragon Tarot, in your opinion, which card decks would be most indicated to work with past lives?
What a gorgeous deck! Like I mentioned before, I love love Lisa Hunt's artwork. This looks like it would be a fun deck to work with. #sorrynotsorry but I love it when decks switch the Wands (flinging the wand into the air) and Swords for fire (think of the forging process). However, they are those who associate Swords with Water and Cups for Fire and I'm like no just no. But at the same time I don't mind if Wands are fire and Swords are air obviously. But if it were to switch them around, it would just be those two. I mean I just can't see earth being wands, cups being fire, Swords being water nor Pentacles being air. Haha! That would be once frustrating deck. Anyway, I love the dragon perspective of this deck. I did see another dragon tarot deck but I think I like this one more. Thanks for sharing and fantastic review.
+Norse Pagan Tarot Witch It's funny how we all have those things that work and don't work, but I have to say the little I have read with it I'm really finding it to be lovely!!!
The elemental switch is interesting. I was just thinking about it when you read out the explanation from the book. It occured to me that the elemental association is very much attached to what those tools are associated with in our respective worlds. In the world or dragons I suppose the "wands" is more of the mind and - in my biased universe - "superior" to the sword (for some reason in my universe the intellect is always superior to passion). While in a more 'mainstream' world, rulership over the material world represented by the sword has to be associated with the mind. Assuming rulership is always associated with the mind, then it is a matter what tools one feels is associated with rulership?
+Nobody Here I think the for me swords are related to air strictly because of the mental aspect, it is clear, not substantial but powerful, intellectual and not tangible. Wands, on the other hand, are about the passion, the building of fire internally that manifests itself creatively and physically... if I write a book, it becomes tangible like flame, and feeds on itself and grows, though can go out of control, as can air I suppose in storms and the like. So I don't feel particularly tied to the item itself, so, for example, I'm fine if the swords become arrows and the wands become bows (like in the Wildwood Tarot) or whatever implement a deck uses. THAT kind of swapping I have no issue with, the swapping of the actual elements, fire for the mind and air for passions and creativity and transformation is a bit more of a leap. I will have to sit with it a bit because I'm pretty sure I haven't really answered your question LOL :D
+The Truth in Story . Hehe. I guess what I meant was that in decks like this one (which I don't actually connect with very well) fire is NOT the mind, because here, the WANDS are the mind..... Do you see what I mean....? So my current theory is, which tools are associated with the mind (or passion, emotions, etc) depends on the zeitgeist of that world. In the dragon world, it looks like the mind is the wands, not the swords.... Yes? But the mind is still air. If you see what I mean....
Good review of the deck. I have this deck but haven't worked with it for a while, now I want to get it out again. I was wondering if you've heard of the Wizard Tarot by Corrine Kenner and John J. Blumen? The deck is set up like a magic school, similar to Hogwarts, and each one of the major arcana cards is a teacher in a certain category. The deck is beautiful and full of symbology and the guide book is fantastic. And each major arcana card has it's own spread. Worth looking into.
+Joyce Rondeau Thank you, it's quite lovely and I'm glad I picked it up, I have heard of the WIzard Tarot, in fact I think they had it at the same shop, is it a digital manipulation style art? I'll have to look it up when I'm more awake :D
The Truth in the Story VERY excited to see, notable Wiccan author, D.J Conway has a deck out; she is one of my favorite Wiccan authors, if not in my top 5 at least! Have you heard of her "Shapeshifter Tarot deck" also by D.J Conway? She introduced me to Wicca and I love her books!!! Check them out for sure! Would you recommend this deck for a person who is a double water sign both in the Sun and Moon astrological systems, or are dragon decks only for fire signs? IOW, Does my astrologically strong connection to the Water signs, somehow hinder me from learning and reading with this Deck? Love your videos as always! ❤
I do not have the Shapeshifter Tarot, it's on my list to look into but I think that it changes the elements of the suits, which I think is also in alignment with Wicca, not that I'm an expert!
That is a very interesting question regarding our astrological signs in correlation with a particular deck! I think we can work with any deck that calls to us but I wonder if what decks call to us might be in relation to that :D However, this deck is actually not very firey, in my opinion. I ended up trading it with a friend because it was a little too soft for how I respond to or see dragons as so I don't think it would be too firey at all!
Hi Kelly, I loved the video, I brought it and I am in Love with it and I have a question: on P179 Candle Spells, I would like to know after lighting the candles then say the special verse for the particular spell, is it after the candles are burned out completely do you speak the closing chant or is it just after the verse for the particular spell that does you speak the closing chant? I will really appreciate your advice. Thanks
I do not have this deck anymore so I can't check the page you are referencing and since I don't do those chants I can't say how they are "supposed" to be done. HOWEVER, I think with anything like this the exact order doesn't matter so long as you are doing it with intention and doing what feels authentic for you :)
+CutoDracon I have to admit that I haven't had time to do a lot of work with this so I can't say that it would be the best as a base for then reading other decks, but the guidebook is quite clear in the meanings. In the end though, I think ANY deck that really sparks your interest and speaks to you is a good one to start out with!
I want to get that book now. Thank you for the recommendation. I also love the deck and will be ordering them too!😊
great review. Many thanks🙏🧡🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Ooooo! Cannot WAIT to read that book-Song in the Silence! Thank you! I have had The Celtic Dragon deck since 2004, and I love it -very whimsical.

+Kindra 101 Ahhh, that's a great way to look at it!
I love that wands are air and swords are fire. I have always struggled with them any other way! Swords to be are destructive like fire and wands you wave in the air and are usually waved for healing.
+Diane G Plus, swords are made with fire.
They actually remade the box.. mine is a magnetic book/deck holder and it's really nice
I think this is the most beautiful dragon tarot deck.
Great review! Thanks!

Will do. I will get the other two books, as well. Thank you I! Blessings.💕
Interesting, Thxs.
we're so in sync!! I was just flipping through my Celtic dragon Tarot yesterday :-) so nice to see you doing this video tonight :-)
+Maha's Treasure box Ahhh it doesn't surprise me you have this lovely deck! :D
Love D. J. Conway's Dancing with Dragons, Thank you for this review!
+Halloweenville You are very welcome! :D

+In Your Healing Space Very well said and I agree :D
O I just love this deck!
+Angela Woods It's quite gorgeous!
Thank you for introducing me to a new book as well as the review of the deck, lol.

What a wonderful deck
+AnneLien1987 I agree, I used it in a reading today and it read very beautifully!

I completely agree about good dragon decks, I’m still waiting for that “perfect” one and haven’t found it yet!!
Very neat deck, thank you for sharing! Have a great week!
Thank you, it's definitely a gorgeous deck!

I agree with the box thing, its not nice and it feels against everything *green* xxxxxx
Lisa Hunt does really nice work. For some reason,I, personally, just didn't want a whimsical dragon tarot deck. Oracles are another stoty.
Good review of the deck. I have this deck but haven't worked with it for a while, now I want to get it out again.

Can you do a review of the Shapeshifter Tarot by Conway if you have it: I am wondering if I should buy it, and I've heard good things about it.

@@TheTruthinStory Thank you so much. Love you.
Aw, give Isobel;s toy back
You’re too cute Kelly! 😀
Do you know of any decks with dragons that are good for preteens that want to learn tarot. Beginner decks?? My daughter loves cards & dragons
Just get her regular tarot . After all, it's just artwork . Nothing to worry about
Would this deck be okay to start out with?
+CutoDracon I have to admit that I haven't had time to do a lot of work with this so I can't say that it would be the best as a base for then reading other decks, but the guidebook is quite clear in the meanings.
