SwedishGrammarPolice Judgement is the only block to embodying true wisdom in martial arts, as it keeps us focused on others instead of ourselves. Jake's videos are fantastic. He has his own style, his own teaching method, and does things his own way - and most importantly, he is grateful for what he has learned! THIS is what the world needs. And THAT is what martial arts is all about~

      Maxwell Honey
This is the type of people who think that you learn a few martial arts postures then go out and beat the crap out of someone who looks at them sideways. Sad.

My reply was to SwedishGrammarPolice for their ignorant remark not to Maxwell Honey. I apologize for the misplacement of my reply. You are very correct saying that Jake has fun with his practice and everyone can progress at their own level. No matter what level you are, it is good for your health and well being.

I'm reaching my middle years and caring for aging parents, and after much time sitting in hospital rooms and nursing homes, I have reflected a lot on how I can age more gracefully. I appreciate your videos. Your life work is exactly what will help me make the difference in my own health and longevity. It's mind and body. Thank you for sharing what you have.

Wow jake, I hope you make money from google ad's because you should not earn a penny teaching fake tai chi or fake-fu. People buy this stuff? Now that's AMAZING!

I love drinking some Coffee. And just sitting back. And watching this guy. Hes cool. Relaxing. Im still working on this Yang Style. Just taken it in. Lol. Bare in mind folks. Ive dug through several Yang Tai Chi vids. From various resorces. Jakes not unique when it comes to this subject. Each Teacher has their own way of doing it within reason. But this is obviously the most basic set of patterns you could find on here. Hes just simplifying it. Thats it. Its common Geometry. I can see the likeness of his patters better with actual combat defense Tai Chi. Then with a few others. Wich seem to. "Fancy it up." Sorry. I want these basics first. Abc. Not Xyz. If that makes sence... Thanks Mr. Mace. For what you do.

The best way to learn would be to learn each form correctly and practice it until you feel competent en lough to learn more, not learning this guys' sloppy way just because it's easier.

There is no fault. It's just what it is. I don't subscribe to learn myself, I'm hear cos' I actually enjoy receiving these. I'm a Wing Chun man, and I've seen some of this WC, and it ain't great if I'm honest, but you have to admire him, no? Hey, we take what we need to take, and spit out the pieces we don't like.

Looks good for dancing, but none of it has any practical movements. Don't see how to get a defense application out of the movements.

Go ahead and take on a Tai Chi Master and when you drag your body off the ground, then you will know more than you did 2 heartbeats before about Tai Chi.

    Dear Sifu,
I have seen quite a few of the videos and they are some of the best kung fu I have ever seen in a long time. I have practiced some tai chi before, but I could be rusty though I would like to see more if it's possible, sir. And I love the animals and that 7 star sword stuff ya did. Ya done a good job, sir.

    Some musings...........
    1. And why exactly is this Amazing?
    2. Nothing about this form is relaxed because posture is wrong full of hollows and protuberences/ No Peng/ and footwork is incorrect. With all these defects how can you have real relaxation? Answer: You can't!
    3. You talk utter nonsense - How do you possibly "draw in that Longevity to yourself"? and How can you make "the most healthy breath yet"?
    4. How come NONE of the genuine Tai Chi masters I've worked with ever talk in this way?

    • @clearviewmind

      Breeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaath.....relax, and chill :-)

    • @pksracing

Agreed! Nothing about this is amazing; his footwork is terrible and he rarely completes the proper sequence with his hands.

Noticing you REALLY have an issue with humility, man. Every video you post has "Amazing" "Incredible" or something like that. You called yourself the king of kung fitness. Come on, man. You're not the greatest thing ever. None of us are. Just my take on one aspect. Outside of that, you make nice videos.

    • @clearviewmind
      @clearviewmind 10 років тому

I know exactly what you mean, as I used to think just the same as you, and it actually used to wind me up! lol...then I realized that it's actually ALL about "catching the eye" of people who wouldn't of clicked to watch otherwise. So try and see "the title" as for the new people who don't yet know who he is. It's part of his business model ;-)
