Sora has stated multiple times there were many instances she wanted to give up and quit. It's surprising that people are still amazed by that. Not exactly a sentiment only Sora shared. Many in gens 0 1 and 2 shared the same sentiment. When Sora first started, she was doing a Kizuna Ai thing. She was doing prerecorded streams on a weekly basis. Then Roboco happened. Then Gen 1 happened. She actually told management she would quit if they wouldn't let her do streams. Letting Sora quit would be the biggest mistake Hololive would make. And yet here we are, Sora is interacting a lot with the ID girls to the point she actually got them to help her make a guild and an elevator on minecraft. That was unthinkable just a year or two ago. Yep. A-chan is really an honored person in this company. At the moment the only active VTubers that are older than Sora are Ironmouse, by one month and Siro as she started in March of the same year. Everyone else today is younger than those 3. - And both Sora and Mousey weren't the superstars that you'd think. Mousey didn't grow until Covid became a thing but also when she started talking about her condition (same point in time - her being true to her allowed her to expand and grow and for Sora I think her mingling more with the other talents, doing collabs etc also helped her to grow as well, she became more well known among the chats as someone who's a little mischeivious and also someone who will not hesitate to roast A-chan herself but protect her no matter what under any and all conditions (Seriously her attacking Kanata's team in Minecraft was honestly brutal, no F were given)
Yagoo wanted a tech company and develop 3D technology. But how to fund such a big project. Along comes Sora and A-chan with a request. Yagoo could have said "That's not what we are in the market for. But definition of Adapt and Overcome.
Soras daisenpai aura really comes through in this clip. You really feel the sense of wanting to give her the respect she deserves, even though Sora herself doesn't like that lol.
I don't know why, but there's something particular about this clip that makes me feel at peace. Maybe it's the music, or maybe it's the fact that both Ollie and Kanata are so mesmerized by Sora's story, just like I was This is truly a special moment right here
Sora being so solid and sure of her own strength after so long doubting herself does feel really uplifting. And being able to be a reliable sempai to two girls who have had their share of struggles is really nice to see.
After working with and being roommates with the legendary dragon, I would say so. Kanata's been a lot more open, expressive, and ambitious since the beginning. It fits pretty well as growth with her lore too.
What happened with her ear btw. Last time I heard about them was probably 2 years ago, and back then she was talking about almost going deaf and it almost hindering her singing and stuff.
Yeah basically from my understanding its a degenerative condition and she's deaf in 1 ear so her coming as far as she has despite that is truly incredible.
Sora reflection talks are always nice and emotional. She is truely the embodiment to the idol spirit. Taking the Fans powers to push herself, and in turn inspire her fans to keep pushing forward as well.
I always feel my tears when i hear this story from Sora or A-chan. It just sounds so inspirational. And even if she isnt our osshi, if it weren't for her, my osshi wouldnt be doing what she is now.
I absolutely love that both Sora and Kanata are actively trying to speak English, just to connect more with the international audience. And that Ollie is quietly giving them space and let them take their time. Also, Sora's story with A-chan and the 13 Knights is so inspirational!
To add more to her struggles, she has been told multiple times online and irl that she can't do this, she can't do that, she doesn't have a cute voice etc. Many people had discouraged her from doing what she love but she is still here. Congrats and Happy Birthday Sora.
I think Sora voiced out her opinion about not wanting to be praised like a goddess (as much as we all want to and do so anyway. lol) she feels left out cause people are tiptoeing around her. She just wants to play games with all the girls.
@@num6222 This would be more praising the fans, though, and those early supporters of Hololive were important to *everyone's* success. So I can see how it would be appropriate.
being a pioneer is always hard. the first step is always the hardest. aside from those legendary 13 knights, sora really did a super job at keeping them 13 people to be eventually millions of fans supporting the biggest vtuber agency on earth.
It is wild to think that if it weren't for those 13 people who would watch Sora regularly at the start, Hololive wouldn't be where it is today and by proxy never would have known about any of them.

@@alcor4670 Or maybe “added” into HoloCure as part of Sora’s finisher. Apart from her wings, we will also see 12 knights dash by to slash at the mobs and the 13th one, the one who passed away, deals the most damage.
Kanata japanese: Kusogaki bordering on yanki Kanata english: Edo period samurai She's great. I think her recent dark souls streams have really put her out in front popularity wise.
Is something special but not miracle,it was just her debut, the miracle was Christmas when Siro had problems with her stream and sent her viewers to Sora
I do feel I've learned a bunch about leadership from school. However it is sweet to hear it from someone so beloved. Thank you Karl for this nice piece of history
13 viewers in your first livestream is respectable, but Sora had the weight of a company to hold up, and 13 people weren't gonna do it. The fact she stuck it out, the fact she grew organically, and the fact she is still around as a beacon for all other members is incredible. Even now, she is learning english and trying her best to bridge the gap between jp, id, and en. Reading these comments, I'm glad the original viewers are still around and that she keeps tabs on them.
Sora is the strongest girl i know, being able to make other girls make their idol dream come true, while fighting to keep her head up during the first tough days of hololive alone with her 13 knights🥺
Sora has been at it for so long, going through the good, bad and the ugly of the VTuber/Hololive environment. When she finally reached 1M subs her reaction felt guttural in a way, like, it wasn't a squeal of happiness, it was like she said to herself "Finally. I deserve this. All my hard work is being recognized after so long." It must've felt impossible to get to where she is now. Nowadays I love watching her play Super Mario World at her own pace, her resilience is amazing! Watching her play fangames like Holocure and Idol Showdown is also very enjoyable. Also her English has improved so much! I just feel she has come a long way and it warms my heart to hear her speak so freely about her feelings and her journey.
Sora's debute is actually 3.5 months earlier than "hololive" which is originally the name of a smart phone APP released on 21 Dec 2017.[PS] We probably can know the fact about her struggle but we probably can never relate to how hard and what kind of the environment that she had to be facing at that time. I had to say that 13 is definitely a lucky number. It's been lucky for me and some of the people I personally know. And it is definitely a big-lucky number for Sora and the people of Hololive from the beginning until far in the future.
One of the member should made something for sora and the 13 knights in minecraft, make 13 statue stand guard on sora's house, one of them has wings since the incident
Emotional. Touching. The first one will always be the most difficult. You have to do it by yourself especially with no one to guide or follow. Sora will always have my respect, the most important member of the group for sure imo. Also salute to you, the legendary 13 knights. RIP to one of them who passed from COVID. 🙏🏻
It perfectly captures Sora's story from many angles. In my opinion it's more of a tribute than a clip. Thank you very much for immortalizing this moment
13 knight , not only for hololive but its change the rabbit hole in everywhere i think, and this is why we always respect sora , without her , maybe we can't see another members
In the beginning, it was only Sora, A-chan and Yagoo. Now look at them. They practically conquered the world through their hard work and perseverance. It wasn't easy, but they got there. Fair and square. What an inspiration. Never give up on your dreams, people.
Start with 1 idol and 13 people watching (one of them was Elito and the other was a winning son). Now days: 54 females members of Hololive (JP+EN+ID) and 21 members of Holostars (JP+EN), for a total of 75 members in Holopro. A big behemoth who grows in size despite their troubles too. It became the top dog, the status of quality and production. Had recognition at international level as well.
@@louissanchez6864 she is, but some (and she) says she saw Sora on the begining. She admits she isn't one of the 13 knights, but she was on the first thousands to watch Sora
Sometimes I wonder what it's like to be one of those 13 randos at the first stream. To have passed into legend, in a way. If they still watch to this day, and if they do, what they think of how things turned out... surely they couldn't have imagined at the time. I'm sure some are VTubers themselves, now... but probably not all of them. Some, I'm sure, have been content to stay in the background, and merely watch. They might be among the most powerful people alive today, considering the enormity of what they began... even if it was only by a small amount of support, it was still thanks to them that everything continued until now. And Sora worked so hard for her dream, that their effort was not wasted. As a VTuber myself, even someone like me owes Sora a lot, that I even know what a VTuber is. Though we've never spoken, I doubt she's ever seen my rare chats in her stream, but that's fine. Her dedication and passion was the start of everything, and that means a lot.
it was just them talking about the construction.... suddenly Ollie ask permission to question something sensitive..i thought it was something else. but it turns out a very deep talk... imagining how it was in they just starting up back then thank you Tanigo, staff san, Soda chan, A-chan
Barely worth noticing I'm sure those 13 thought as they stumbled upon her first stream. Yet something piqued their curiosity enough for them to stay. If only they knew just how much an impact they made on a young Sora at the start of her career and how big a snowball they created.
If not for those 13 and Sora daisenpai's dedication... Hololive might not have existed today... Who dafaq knows what I was doing in that alternate timeline without Hololive?...
I appreciate Kanata and Ollie talking to Sora just a little bit seriously about this subject. Because she doesn't always speak contemplatively about it this way. Those 13 Knights gave someone a chance for a little while, maybe even in the new format of vtubing some of them might not have seen before. And look at the "butterfly effect" this had.
Anyone find the parallels between Sora and King Arthur so endearing? Both have 13 loyal knights Both have carried incredible burdens and persevered Both have a trusted advisor throughout their journey (Merlin and A-chan)
Sora did said it was so hard she was losing sleeps and even sometimes broke down crying randomly out of nowhere. Thank god her kouhais managed to lessen the burden for her as time went by. But, the first year or two of hololive was heavily depended on her. She carry that weight all alone...
😭😭😭😭😭😭 Other than grip strength and gorilla and other widespread clip stuff, my only impression of Kanata was from the sports festival, and I was really surprised by how hilarious she is. This clip strengthened that impression again😌
there is a minor mistranslation there. she said 何度もある(nandomoaru) which means "many times" so she thought about giving up on her dream many times before, not once or twice but many times. so, we all can be here today watching and supporting our oshi because Sora chose not to give up on her dream MANY TIMES. there is probably in another universe that hololive doesn't even exist at all lol sorry for my bad English cause it is not my first language and also sorry if my correction is also wrong because I'm still learning in college.
There are not too many vtubers anymore that have gone longer than Sora. That being stated, Sora did not want to walk the path of reverence. She wanted people to treat her as an ordinary woman. While we look up to Sora as one of the pillars of hololive, Sora could not have done this alone. Everyone in Hololive contributed and worked really hard to create what we see today and the fans are a pillar as well. Sora stating she would have quit without the fan's support is not something only Sora has stated. I have heard this stated multiple times from numerous vtubers in Hololive. AZkI exists in Hololive as we know her through route B because of her fans. Many Hololive members owe their careers now despite how desperate their situations may have been due to their fans support. Alot of members from gens one, two and zero have stated they would have quit without their fans support, some were literally living on the donations of food, money and fan letters from their fans. It may have started with 13, but its now well in the millions. I don't even think in Sora's wildest dream her dream of becoming an idol would lead to being one of the biggest vtuber agencies on on the planet. In just a few years.
the perseverance of sora to keep going even when in doubt if she would want to continue with what little was given in return. Only respect is what i can give to Sora o7
Legit i was confused ollie didn't know but its nice because she gives a great reaction to finding out from the source herself. Hopefully gave ollie abit of grounding in her own life to see the goddess of hololive as just a normal girl like herself (aside being a zombie)
@@Karls_Clips I know Ollie herself struggles with feeling inadequate compared to other members. She doesn't get as many viewers and her sub count isn't anywhere near monumental, and its disheartened her a lot. I hope that her doubts are cleared after this chat with Sora enough to give her piece of mind
@@Karls_Clips I'm not surprised if Ollie has heard about it (come on, what are the chances), but simply pretended otherwise to make the conversation more engaging for both Sora and the audience. I mean, it's way more respectful than outright saying "oh yeah senpai, I've heard about that story before".
Come on, of course she knows about that. She is hololive shimper even before she is debuted you know?! She just pretend doesn't know about that to give respect to Sora.
Honestly those 13 should all be found and like praised rewarded in a sense because basically..its thanks to those 13 original Viewers Those 13 original Hololive viewers That there is even a Hololive at all Sure. Maybe Yagoo would of continued if Sora had left A chan may have followed But think about how many of the cast exist because of Sora and A Chan How many stayed from their own struggles because of Sora Its sad to hear that one of the original 13 passed away But it just makes it even more of a necessary to truly honor those 13. Its thanks to them That we have what we have today.

Yes the legendary 13 Knights there is an underrated channel where they animated hololive fights (with story) and they do them justice I mentioned this coz one of sora's power are the 13 Knights. Anyway that aside glad that sora is also trying hard for us overseas bros and man janata sounds so cute as well.
Kugeki animations if anyone wants to know. The animation looks raw from the storyboards and short but the worldbuilding is deep. Lore is usually place in the descriptions of the vids. Edit: He put up a teaser vid just as I finished typing this.
I would not be watching NIJISANJI personally. I would not even know about VTubers in general. The first VTuber I came across by accident back in November 2020 which was when Phasmophobia was trending at the time, was none other than Gawr Gura. Being the moron I was, I thought nothing of them at the time. And being an even bigger moron which was beyond my control, I officially entered the Hololive Rabbit Hole in July 2021… when Coco graduated.
You know I don't think Tazumi would have started Anycolor had it not been for Cover starting Hololive Project first. He might have but it would totally be different and it probably wouldn't be as half as successful. Most talent companies are ridiculously small with perhaps 20 talents total and none over a million subs or with a high number of viewers (this seems to be common)
We all talk about how 13 is a unlucky number, but for Sora and perhaps all of us who fell down this rabbit hole... the number 13 has turned out to be a very very lucky number instead. May those 13 knights be blessed for being there for sora and helping her and hololive overcome those early challenges to bring the joy of hololive to the world.
Full respect to all of them. But the KH knowledge in my brain demands for them to have black hooded cloaks to cosplay Org XIII. Probably impossible but hey maybe one day XD

Mousey didn't grow until Covid became a thing but also when she started talking about her condition (same point in time - her being true to her allowed her to expand and grow and for Sora I think her mingling more with the other talents, doing collabs etc also helped her to grow as well, she became more well known among the chats as someone who's a little mischeivious and also someone who will not hesitate to roast A-chan herself but protect her no matter what under any and all conditions (Seriously her attacking Kanata's team in Minecraft was honestly brutal, no F were given)
It's really humbling to think that even one of the biggest agencies started with a girl that was happy to have 13 people watch her first stream.
Well the only thing _we_ can offer is deep-seated respect. And some ribbing now and then. Sofa-chan can't get TOO comfortable.
I don't know why, but there's something particular about this clip that makes me feel at peace.
Maybe it's the music, or maybe it's the fact that both Ollie and Kanata are so mesmerized by Sora's story, just like I was This is truly a special moment right here
It's sora-chan english along with the okami bgm, i must admit when i added it i didn't realise how well it suited the situation.
@@Karls_Clips Oh good pick, the music really is the cherry on top on this clip
@@Karls_Clips the bgm you added makes it more emotional.. My kokoro was very touched..
Sora being so solid and sure of her own strength after so long doubting herself does feel really uplifting. And being able to be a reliable sempai to two girls who have had their share of struggles is really nice to see.
To be fair, when Sora tells a story, you pull a chair (or floor mat), sit down and _listen._
To that 1st 13 people, thank you for supporting her
13 legendary knights sounds like an overkill super move in a fighting game, where she summons them, and each does a power move one by one
It's a summon in FF7, they did exactly that
Idol Showdown
Imagine the spartan guy showing up there, holy shift, that would be epic too haha
Sora is the very foundation of Hololive. She stood firm and courageous so others can be lifted to success.
0:36 Sora: "I want to be an idol"
A-chan: "Sh*t Sora, that's all you have to say"
Kanata has also gone through tons of difficulties...hope she is happier now
I hope so too, i love this gorilla angel
After working with and being roommates with the legendary dragon, I would say so. Kanata's been a lot more open, expressive, and ambitious since the beginning.
It fits pretty well as growth with her lore too.
What happened with her ear btw. Last time I heard about them was probably 2 years ago, and back then she was talking about almost going deaf and it almost hindering her singing and stuff.
Yeah basically from my understanding its a degenerative condition and she's deaf in 1 ear so her coming as far as she has despite that is truly incredible.
@@Karls_Clips man reading again about the deaf condition of kanata make me remember of the same problem Ayumi Hamasaki have D:
She has kicked discouragement in the nuts to get to where she is. Fortunately she has shins of tungsten.
The legendary 13 knights of the triangular table
man listening to this story while they are playing MC makes me wish they designed a monument with Sora and the 13 knights lol
a fine idea. maybe Kaela or Ollie would like to surprise Sora with such a thing.
Ah Sora and A-chan...where would the legions be without you two making that fateful trip to certain man's office to borrow studio equipment...
being a pioneer is always hard. the first step is always the hardest. aside from those legendary 13 knights, sora really did a super job at keeping them 13 people to be eventually millions of fans supporting the biggest vtuber agency on earth.
I put my knees down and my hat off for you, Tokino Sora-san. 本当にありがとうございます。
It is wild to think that if it weren't for those 13 people who would watch Sora regularly at the start, Hololive wouldn't be where it is today and by proxy never would have known about any of them.
Shout out to DeepL for providing us with this moment.
They really are the best translator for Japanese/English.
(It works better if you translate back and forth a couple of times and change your wording to ensure your meaning is conveyed.)
That is pretty much what I have been doing before I send my tweets out. To make sure I don’t make a fool out of myself.

Or maybe “added” into HoloCure as part of Sora’s finisher.
Apart from her wings, we will also see 12 knights dash by to slash at the mobs and the 13th one, the one who passed away, deals the most damage.
Kanata japanese: Kusogaki bordering on yanki
Kanata english: Edo period samurai
She's great. I think her recent dark souls streams have really put her out in front popularity wise.
I hope so, kanata is severely underated, and i adore her.
there are many miracles about Sora's tale.
the 13 knights are one of them, if I'm not mistaken.
Yes. There's also the xmas miracle

To the OG 13 Knights, thank you.

To think she’s been going for over 5 years onward, she’s been through a lot of things
The 13 Knights, forever unnamed, but never forgotten
You can always count on the number 13
she crawled through the mud and thorns so her juniors can fly
She even came first in the Yagoo course definitely impressed with her perseverance
@@DanielGonzalez-vo5ni The only one to finish within the time limit.

And it is definitely a big-lucky number for Sora and the people of Hololive from the beginning until far in the future.
thank you to the 13 viewers at that time, you guys are MVP
The 13 knights, true legends.
In a sense, if it weren't for the 13, hololive wouldn't be here, so mad respect.
One of the member should made something for sora and the 13 knights in minecraft, make 13 statue stand guard on sora's house, one of them has wings since the incident
Sora took that leap, so the others can take a big jump. Sora walked so the others can run
I hope Sora knows how admired she is all over the world.
These clips always move me a bit. So much greatness from such a humble start. All thanks to Sora and the 13.
Emotional. Touching.
The first one will always be the most difficult. You have to do it by yourself especially with no one to guide or follow. Sora will always have my respect, the most important member of the group for sure imo.
Also salute to you, the legendary 13 knights. RIP to one of them who passed from COVID. 🙏🏻
This clip i wanted to do but sundays are busy days for me, i did my best to make it decent. Hope you guys liked it.
It perfectly captures Sora's story from many angles. In my opinion it's more of a tribute than a clip. Thank you very much for immortalizing this moment
Decent? It's a bless 👏
13 knight , not only for hololive but its change the rabbit hole in everywhere i think, and this is why we always respect sora , without her , maybe we can't see another members
Enough to make a grown man cry. She deserves all the praise for her commitment even after wanting to quit at times.
Sora Grandma reading a story from her storybook to curious kids below...
Ollie: Those 13 people were amazing
Iroha: thank you-gozaru
Isn't iroha suisei fan?
@@louissanchez6864 she is, but some (and she) says she saw Sora on the begining. She admits she isn't one of the 13 knights, but she was on the first thousands to watch Sora
@@akrom2010 how about miko? Wasn't miko rumored to be one of the 13? As well as the first member to ever be known to be sora's fan?
@@lolcall5295 I'm not exactly sure but I seem to remember hearing that Miko herself has denied being one of the knights.
@@fajarputras3300 Miko was asked about this on air and my interpretation is that she rather carefully did not comment on it either way.
Her dedication and passion was the start of everything, and that means a lot.
it was just them talking about the construction.... suddenly Ollie ask permission to question something sensitive..i thought it was something else. but it turns out a very deep talk... imagining how it was in they just starting up back then
thank you Tanigo, staff san, Soda chan, A-chan
It's also amazing that UA-cam's incompetence helped with Sora blowing up. What an amazing journey.
Barely worth noticing I'm sure those 13 thought as they stumbled upon her first stream. Yet something piqued their curiosity enough for them to stay.
If only they knew just how much an impact they made on a young Sora at the start of her career and how big a snowball they created.
So many stories in Hololive of Talents swimming through tough times: Sora, Miko-chan, Suisei, Coco. A collection of inspiration.
I knew this story, and how hard Sora worked and her struggles. But its nice to see how respectful Ollie and Kanata are to her in this clip.
If not for those 13 and Sora daisenpai's dedication... Hololive might not have existed today... Who dafaq knows what I was doing in that alternate timeline without Hololive?...
The One who kept , who keeps , and will continue keeping Yagoo's dream alive in a small coffer close to Her chest
I appreciate her speaking in English. She's done so much for the culture
It's such a blessing to hear them speak English. Thank you so much Sora daisenpai. 🙏
It's very inspiring story for anyone out there, trying to reach their dream.
well i've been to many indie vtuber stream, 13 people stay watching is already amazing!
Anyone find the parallels between Sora and King Arthur so endearing?
Both have 13 loyal knights
Both have carried incredible burdens and persevered
Both have a trusted advisor throughout their journey (Merlin and A-chan)
Sora did said it was so hard she was losing sleeps and even sometimes broke down crying randomly out of nowhere. Thank god her kouhais managed to lessen the burden for her as time went by. But, the first year or two of hololive was heavily depended on her. She carry that weight all alone...
😭😭😭😭😭😭
Other than grip strength and gorilla and other widespread clip stuff, my only impression of Kanata was from the sports festival, and I was really surprised by how hilarious she is. This clip strengthened that impression again😌
Oh man you're missing out with kanata dude, she's awesome singer, she's hilarious, her fashion is lame as heck and she's stronger than an ox.
Those 13 Knights need to be either the most broken power ups in HoloCure. Or the final bosses we have to beat to save them.
there is a minor mistranslation there. she said 何度もある(nandomoaru) which means "many times" so she thought about giving up on her dream many times before, not once or twice but many times. so, we all can be here today watching and supporting our oshi because Sora chose not to give up on her dream MANY TIMES. there is probably in another universe that hololive doesn't even exist at all lol
sorry for my bad English cause it is not my first language
and also sorry if my correction is also wrong because I'm still learning in college.
Yeah thats probably me trying to reword the sentence to make sense, my bad.
my respect is soo big for those 13 knights.
if not for them i wont even be here today knowing all Holo Member
For those legends. Respect 💯
the perseverance of sora to keep going even when in doubt if she would want to continue with what little was given in return.
Only respect is what i can give to Sora o7
I am surprised that Ollie didn't know about Sora's original 13 viewers, but now she knkws 😊
You kinda need to dig deep to know this trivia
Every clip of her is so touching

13 Knights of Sora what a legendary number. Now thats a lore worthy of anime.
we need a fanart of sora and her 13 knights...
What a moving story, nice to know things went well
Yes the legendary 13 Knights there is an underrated channel where they animated hololive fights (with story) and they do them justice I mentioned this coz one of sora's power are the 13 Knights.
Anyway that aside glad that sora is also trying hard for us overseas bros and man janata sounds so cute as well.

The animation looks raw from the storyboards and short but the worldbuilding is deep. Lore is usually place in the descriptions of the vids.

very touching, i believe in you alien
if not for sora
da entire world is probably mostly watching nijisanji
sora truely a god
