- This weeks new Gran Turismo 7 update adds in the Audi RS 5 Turbo DTM, Mazda3 X, Porsche 959, Porsche Carrera GTS and best of all... the Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge. One of the funniest cars they've added in a while. Which I fully customized and gave all the possible power/performance upgrades!

In HK here, rich guys take their family out on the Alphard. It’s an iconic executive MPV/van that overtakes you on a highway like no other.
Were they driven as if the roads are theirs too there in HK?
Yes. We know you love them. Always asked myself why they didn't being it as a Lexus rebadge in the eu.

To give more context on the Alphard, in Southeast Asian countries (where i'm from) it's a hallmark of the rich. It goes for about 85k USD and can go past 100k for the highest trim level.
It might not look like much but those leather pilot seats speak more languages than I could ever manage.
Here in my country there are tons of olds ones on the roads still
There’s a bigger and more luxurious version of this, the Vellfire
This, alongside with land cruiser and fortuner are considered as a high-end car in souteast asia. And then you realized that they were Toyota and supposed to be cheap... lol
Same thing in Indonesia, Alphard is the definition on Luxury/VIP cars for elites. Those who owned this car were greeted warmly by Valets in Hotels and Malls, this car is about 100k USD in Standard version while Top level were about 140k+ USD and it has literally everything you need like Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar.
BTW, there are more variants like Voxy, Vellfire and Lexus LM (elite variant), but Vellfire is Alphard because they marketed on different names on other countries. The difference between Alphard and Vellfire is Alphard can be owned by majority people and tend to drive by ownselves while Vellfire is more tend to drive by owner's driver while the owner just relaxed in the back due strong identity of individualism.
@@z4k1_zaki65 Vellfire is the cheaper trim for the Alphard. The one that you mean is the Lexus LM which is the more luxury option for the Alphard.
Here in Malaysia, the Alphard costs as much as a house, and is regularly seen on the road driven by rich aunties, businessmen, celebrities, and some rich kids that customise it more than you expect. Once awhile you can see one tailgating you in the mirror, flashing its high beams at you to move the hell out of the way
Same goes for Indonesia, but mostly driven by *LOTS of government officials 😅*
Me in Perodua Axia on the right lane when all of a sudden a big Flashing white light approch n i know its an Alphard telling me to please remove ur vehicle from the fast lane 🤣
common alphard/vellfire driver in malaysia 😭😭
So they're malaysian's equivalent of snotty guy with pajero sport and a "strobo" lamps
Fun fact, the Alphard basically has the same engine as a Lotus Avora and Exige being a 3.5L V6 2GR engine. Lotus supercharge theirs though. It's a common engine to swap into a 1.2Tonne MR2 but the exhaust note gets even better
I hardly wonder that Toyota engine could be mated to a Nissan automatic/CVT transmission...
I know there are other carmakers that uses used Nissan automatic/CVT transmissions, like Suzuki, Isuzu and Mazda, but in reality Nissan CVTs - when already shoehorned into Nissan products like the Murano (all generations) - are deeply known for having reliability problems and if all front-wheel drive (FWD) Toyotas (like the "Alphard") were using Nissan-developd automatic/CVT gearboxes then scientifically speaking they could be better than when they are already shoehorned in FWD Nissans...
The Alphard has the 2GR V6 engine in it, which is one of the best engines toyota ever made.

Toyota has a knack on putting crazy good engines on their luxury cars.
Camry has the same 2GR v6 engine, and Century used to have V12

@olavofernandes7286 hence, in their advertisements
The Toyota Alphard is actually a high end luxury MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle), it is very popular with the rich people here in Indonesia and probably other parts of South East Asia. Fun fact, it actually has an even more expensive and luxurious Lexus counterpart called the LM300/350 which isn't as popular considering it is significantly more expensive (Alphard is like 80k usd, Lexus LM is starts at 160k usd)
what about the elgrand?

The Toyota V6 is a good proven engine so it’s nice to see it in the minivan. It appears Toyota is phasing out the 2GR V6 in favor of turbocharged I4 or hybrid powertrains.
Most companies are doing that actually. Those new Turbo I4 engines are far better on gas, and deliver potentially more power than most 6cyl engines. I mean even jeep, jeep wrangler and patriots after 2020 all have the turbo 4 cylinder engines unless you seek out the other ones. Same with Mazda. Most of their cars now have a turbo 4 cylinder option. It’s a solid base design for an engine
To be fair, it's all due to emission restrictions that's getting unbelievably hard to achieve unless you're downsizing with a turbo or hybrid.
The Alphard is a status symbol here in Indonesia, if you have one then youre rich
Even in Japan
SEA guy here. Alphards are mostly common sight in the traffic
Technically, this isn’t the first minivan in GT7. The Volkswagen Samba Bus Type 2 is already in the game.

In Malaysia, people who drives the Toyota Alphard probably they Ministers, Prime Minister, Entrepreneur, or someone who is occupation which pays him or her with big Salary.
quick fun fact : This car is so popular. There is one Ultraman's villain drive this and it can fly.

As a fellow indonesian myself i say it’s kinda weird that PD decided to tint the front windshield only and not the side windows
Unironically this car looks even better than I expected
most japanese modified their alphard's, they be using normal FWD trims, or the Executive Lounge's, or maybe the new AWD trims and its a common thing for asian modify their mpv's or pick up's like Thailand with their Isuzu DMAX's, Toyota Hilux and more, Malaysia with their modified Myvi's, Indonesian with their SUV rolling coals like Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero, and more

Rather than the Alphard, I'd imagine having something like a Fortuner or Innova would be better. Because at least those cars have been a part of racing culture in some countries unlike the Alphard
In Hong Kong they are used by business executives and celebrities to be ferried around the city by their chauffeurs to their next business meeting or photo shoots. There are also many of them being deployed on cross-border limousines to China, which the driver drives very aggressively.
I also happened to rode in one back in Hong Kong, and it’s easily a business jet on four wheels.
What are the odds for this video , i just customized this car because i thought it’d be fun and got surprised how good it is. And sounds pretty good too with the racing parts, only downside is the lack of a big wang
My parents said when they were on a trip to Singapore, the Alphards are taxis. TAXIS

The Alphard was always my favorite taxi in Japan!
I was just as confused with the windscreen tint. I have a feeling it’s a glitch and may be fixed
The tint not being at the back of the window might be because of the mirror from the interior to see behind clearer
