There is a nice bit of genius of having something that explodes be disguised in something flamable that explodes for the ship to avoid detection or accidents when undercover. With the Bond type themes, setting up a scene on this boat of a secret agent confrontation could be good. Or maybe just one sneaking around avoiding guards or sneaking on from the water. The sound brick has some nice textures that could be built into a more mechanical part of the wheelhouse.
Absolutely brilliant Robin! What a great idea to make a disguised tanker into a ICBM carrier. You definitely got to put a few Dr. Inferno stickers on it like Specte would of had their logos on their ships. Now you have to get that 007 Aston Martin speed champions car. So you can have Bond sneaking on board with a gun in his hand and don't forget the henchmen. I can't wait to see part 2 of this. Great job my friend.
This is such a cool & innovative build! Hoping to see the wheelhouse have several interior scenes, including one in the below-deck space. I see you connected the tread plates of the walkway directly to the top of the LNG tanks. Looking at pictures of LNG ships, you see circular structures on top of the tanks, and a bit of superstructure beneath the walkways . If you have 2x2 circular plates for the top of the tanks, you could then put a 2x4 grey plate across the top of those to give a stronger connection to the walkway plates. A good opportunity to increase both realism & brick stability, imo. Cheers!
Leave it to Robin to come up with another ingenious idea like this! How creative!! Definitely kind of dark but at the same time great design, part usage, etc! I look forward to seeing the completed build next week but really diggin' it!
Oh Dr Inferno is just so diabolical, an evil genius. What a great idea to disguise a nuclear missile cruiser into a natural gas transport ship Robin 🚢 😀
A fun scene to add to this carrier would be to potentially have one of the missile silos open with a minifigure that didn't make it off in time, hanging onto the railings for dear life suspended above the water.
This is absolute brilliance, love the idea. Maybe you could add some extra detail such as lights to the railings, or even a little joke such as cracks in the tanks, if there are such stickers in your collection… Bravo, looking forward to part 2!
One of the silo domes should open in the other direction to counter-balance the ship when both are open at the same time. And it would look cooler that way. Also, you should make a third rocket, or just make a bit of a body of one of the two so it looks like one is being launched.
One being launched would be a cool scene but also bad news for Brick Nottingham. I was going to have this closed in the city. Although both hatches would open different ways, I like this as then I can see both rockets at once!
Interesting concept, I think one of the doors should open the other way though. I do hope Dr Inferno will be caught by the UN eventually. Great build. Thanks from NZ
