After 15 years of collecting pocket knives (dozens of Spyderco, Kershaw and Benchmade knives) Demko is the most exciting knife designer on the market today.
I feel you. I can still remember the day I saw Cold Steel debut Demko's Tri-ad lock and it blew my mind. I have always been a fan of the rocker/back lock and when I saw it taken to the next level I had to get one. Got the AK-47 Tri-ad, have gotten multiple other Tri-ad variants since then.
@@carlsberg-gs6rl Really Demko should be given some kind of "All Time Greatest" award for knife design. We've had the Back Lock for hundreds of years and Demko is the first person to significantly improve it. I love Sal Glesser dearly but even after he spent decades refining the Back Lock, he still couldn't come up with anything remotely as good as the Tri-Ad lock. At this point the only way I can think of one-upping the Tri-Ad Lock would be a fully 3D Printed design (as soon as you move to 3D printed locks you can probably make a folder fully equivalent to a fixed blade).
Andrew Demko is a genius. Thank you to Cold Steel for bringing his knives within reach of the average consumer. The AD10 is superior to other folders that are twice the price. Trust me, I own and have owned many expensive folders.
I'm deeply in love with everything Cold Steel makes. Affordable and crazy awesome quality. The Vaquero Grande is my EDC and has been for 20 plus years. Lynn has a great vision and is executing it incredibly.
These are going to be great I can't wait to get my hands on both of these great design which I am confident ColdSteel has done a fantastic Job building
I cannot wait to get mine... I must give Cold Steel and Andrew Demko two thumbs up! Cold Steel will be putting something out, this year, that I'm really interested in. I know you'll put out some great vids on these; I've seen you AD10, AD15, and 4-Max videos. Can't wait to get my hands on these...
I've got mine on order... I decided to get all of your production customs; I ordered the Italian 4-Max, AD10, and AD15. I just had to get them. Thanks, Mr. Demko, for making some of your great knives available for us Fans of yours that cannot afford your Custom Made Folders. I've been wanting an AD10, forever. I love my American Lawmen. But, have always wanted an AD10. Mine won't be a Collector; I'll EDC to work every day... Also, when I get them, I'll post vids on them. Thanks, again, Brother!
I have been a Cold Steel fan boy for years now. Im up to 7 CS knives. Lynn but espaically Andrew have been my favorite knife guys I preach your Triad lock and trust my life to it. I am proud to say I just ordered the Demko AD-10 for my 8th CS folder. I cant wait to crown my collection with your custom design AD10! ✌
Thanks for making these available at a lower price point. I took my ad-10 down to parts and completely finished every part up to perfection by hand. Loved that I had the chance to give it a try.
I'm an mechanism nut also and it's why I love Andrew's designs, knowing his locks are the strongest in the industry and I say this with confidence. So many times I've looked at a custom knife and said wow this look s awesome but has a frame lock which is a bummer because high priced custom folders which some makers call them "overbuilt" should have an Overbuilt lock also. Frame/liner locks by nature just can't utilize the full potential of the given materials, the stress relief cutout on the lock bar is the weak point and lock face will ultimately slip under shock, stress. Lockbacks in general are essentially a hook wether be it tradition, triad, scorpion,or others all work on this principle and hooks are stronger then a piece of material wedged at the blade tang. Love cold steel/Demko designed locks, before buying the knife I always look at it's lock mechanism first just too bad most are Frame locks. More innovation on strong locks,as strong as the triad and scorpion in the knife community would bring alot more excitement! Also give Sir Demko some challenge I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind lol
Appreciate what you do, hope to own this or one of your knives one day. Thank you for making the decision to make this knife not only accessible but also made in a country that generally inclines towards better quality and freedom vs the one that doesn't ;)
Hallo to the Community, today is my Birthday and one of the finest Gifts i became is an AD-15 . THANKS to my family but also Thank You to Andrew and the whole Cold Steel Team it's Great✊🍀✊🍀✊🍀✊🍀✊🍀✊🍀🌹
These finally made it to production! Such a dream come true. I have a custom AD15 full Ti,I hope cold steel would consider making a full aluminum version with secondary safety I'd pay a little more for that version. 🤞🤞🙏
Okay but I'm sitting here sipping a beverage. I've watched hours of your vids right. THAN BAM. I REALISE YOU ARE ANDREW DEMKO. HOW DID I MISS THIS... MY MIND... BLOWN. Thankyou and goodnight, Cheers
I’ve wanted both for a long time. Thank u very much Andrew and Cold Steel for putting these two great knives within my reach. I’ll absolutely buy. I just have to have them.
Hi Andrew, you are quite right about it being addictive. I watched how you closed it and that is the way to do it. Once I did that, I was set. It is a fascinating design and a very good one. It looked overly complex initially but it is really an elegant and simple design. I love the two tone finish on the blade and the knife came hair shaving sharp which is excellent. It is nice knowing I have a knife in my pocket that I am not afraid to use on any job. It is obviously a very tough knife and it it exudes toughness from every angle and yet it is so BEAUTIFUL. A bit like my Chug Ringo, very pugly yet strangely handsome also.
If I had any doubt, Andrew Demko sold me on the AD10. It's a worthy upgrade and replacement to my classic Buck 112. I kept looking for a folder with the looks, ergonomics, and soul heartedness necessary to replace it.
I'm late to the game. I discovered Cold Steel knives around 3 years ago. And now, 20 Cold Steel (and counting) folders later, I don't leave my home without a Cold Steel tri-ad locking folder in my pocket, "ever"!!! That lock, changed "my" knife world...❤!!!
I'm like you, i discovered CS a couple of years ago, the only difference i'm North African who lives in Libya, and i can't find one ! they only sell chinese junk here .. and i really want one for work and self defense ! You can always buy a gun or an AK47 tho, but it will cost you years in prison if you are a stanger and maybe accused of beeing from ISIS lol
The triad lock has served me well for over 15 years. Got my AD15 8 months ago and I love it. Thank you Mr demco. now please collaborate with GSM or cold steel, whatever it is now, and make an AD 20 that I can afford. I'm an ironworker and a welder. Just an average southern Man but I love your robust knife designs, they can stand up to the abuse and hard work a petty frame lock or standard lock back can't handle. The only lock that can try to compete with the triad or scorpion is the axis lock. But I love Cold steel and I love the knives you've designed Mr demco. It's an American thing, thank you 🇺🇸
The Axis lock is a cool lock,it’s a fun lock but it’s far from a Tri-Ad or Scorpion lock..Spyderco’s compression lock is better than the axis lock..Hogue’s Able lock (Hogue’s version of the Axis lock) is better than the Axis lock because they use a higher quality spring than Benchmade uses in their Axis lock.Benchmade used to use higher quality springs too but in recent years the Axis lock isn’t nearly as durable as it was in older model Benchmade knives
Such a humble dude and a total class act, and why is he always smirking like that? Because he's a blue colar man who designed the BEST....BEST locking mechanism this industry has seen to date. There are a lot of great locks out there that excel in their own way but when it comes to not getting your fingers cut off everybody wether they like it or not knows you can trust a cold steel tri ad lock designed by the man himself Andrew Demko. Oh and for anyone who thinks all he did was add a beefy stop pin to a back lock to make the tri ad lock ..Demko drops the scorpion lock... just awsome.
Scorpion lock is friggin’ genius. But the AD-10…. Killer knife. For so long I looked at it and thought, « it’s just a back lock, what’s the big deal? « Then I SAW it. And bought it. Fantastic.
A couple more paychecks and the AD-15 is mine!! I have a lot of decent to good folders, but I want my edc to be great! From reviews and product info, the AD-15 should make the cut (pun most definitely intended!).
I know about the Tiger Claw and Steel Tiger. They are great karambits but they are both way to big. My only wish from Cold Steel is that they make a smaller more compact folding karambit with the Triad Locking System.
