Something that helps motivate me is when someone else who I trust offers to work with me. I really appreciate that and it eases some of the stress that I feel when I have to do a task alone.
Being a Type 6, most of the points mentioned in the video are right, we need more transparency and honesty than anything in a workplace or in a relationship..
Money in the workplace because it feeds into my security. I don’t mean huge amounts just what I’m worth. Thank you is huge to me not the fake one but a real and short thank you for what you do or the help you gave.
This is great advice! I wish i could show this to all my classmates. As a nursing student I'm sorrounded by 1s, 2s and other 6s... It's a very duty oriented and stressful environment 😌 I think it would be good if all of them knew their types so we could get along.
Hillary!!! I lived in this condo for 5 1/2 years and I had a feeling my landlord would sell it and I’d be stuck finding a place. So I decided to get ahead of it and just find a new place to live. After I gave my notice he actually put it for sale!!! Dang I’m glad I was prepared for this!!! - Your ENFP 6w7 tritype 647 fan 😬.
One of the best motivators is when your sixness gets recognized and rewarded. In my case I receive a lot of positive feedback on my outstanding problem solving skills and for asking right questions and for challenging their way of thinking 😃 But sure, trust is #1 motivator for me at least.
You nailed it Hillary. That is a 100% me and work. We hate to be dismissed when we are speaking about issues. BTW does anything go right ever? rarely...lol. thanks for the videos!
Excellent video and very, very spot-on! I'm a 6w5 and am happy to work hard, just want a sincere thank you and acknowledgement of my contribution. When you said 'data oriented not people oriented' I almost spit out my coffee. I feel like a robot sometimes. I will add here as a tip, if I"m in a spin of doubt and fear, I find it helpful to identify my thoughts and narrow it down to the main thought that is causing that emotion. Next I allow that emotion to fully process instead of stuffing it down, pretending it isn't there, and working even harder. After that, I can look at 'what else is possible' so I can see what is going right and other perspectives like a healthy 9.
It’s hard when you’re the person who always thinks of worst case scenarios, because you do know that you overreact and think of the worst when things are just okay, so you can lose trust in your own judgment because you might dismiss something that’s actually bad. This happened to me recently, I felt like I saw a bug pass in the hallway, so I tell myself no you’re imagining it, we don’t see these bugs in our house anymore. Well I go to my room sometime later and it’s right there. My life went upside down. I had breakdown and started crying and sobbing 😂😂😂
I liked this videos it help me understand myself yes i'm 6 guilty as charged! Fear and plans for worse case can be blinding sometimes, i'm not trying to be negative it comes naturally, if my phone rings i'm always thinking what bad news would be this time... working on it thank you for the video!
I found this helpful for my job interviews! I’m a 6 who is super hard on myself to the point where my anxiety around my performance sometimes blocks any meaningful assessment of myself. I feel like I gained a deeper understand how my type manifests than at work rather than just in my normal life. Thank you!
Thanks for your video! I'm a 6. I am motivated by words of affirmation. I work a lot harder for someone who I trust and who validates me! Also the one book falling off your bookshelf was driving me crazy hahaha sorry
Y'all ever feel super called out in these videos? I'm just like : | listening to what we're like at work, I'm bad for so many of those things. The only thing I don't relate to is defying authority, I'm a super phobic six, so even if I question authority in my head, I will never imply that I have a problem with my superior. Thank you for highlighting the strengths, I tend to only focus on the bad parts of myself. : )
Yes, I tend to challenge more in my head. Very rare situations where I have publicly challenged someone ( me feeling very threatened and intelligence insulted).@Emily Night
@@hannah3250 Insults about my intelligence is also one of the few situations where I'll (try to) say something too haha. I feel bad about being insecure over that. 😅
Oooh boy. I may not like it.... but if someone is doing something wrong I most certainly wilt confront them. Try to do it in a peaceable way but almost 100% of the time it’s never received.... come to find out they were all 1’s!
Thanks. I now understand myself better. Did the test twice and came out as a 6 both times. After watching this video I understand why things went so bad with my last boss. Everything you said in regards to how not to manage me wrong she did. And it only took a short time for me to sense her ulterior motives. I ended up leaving my job and retiring because I couldn't figure out how to make it work. I think she was a psychopath and probably figured out I was a 6 before I did. Only problem is I stayed to long and suffered a trauma for my troubles.
I’m a 6 and this video is about me lol! I do wonder something... I don’t know that I always was 6? When I was in my youth and early 20’s I trusted people almost to a fault, at the same time I was very perceptive to other people’s inner conflicts and even life conflicts without them telling me. I was always concerned for others, I still am. I’ve had a lot of personal trials and some trauma starting in my late 20’s up until the past year. I really struggle to trust people ( I’ll hang out and talk with anyone but always...always guarded), even my amazing husband. I unfortunately have been right about a lot of bad things but also side lined by some really painful things. Anyway, I guess I’m working through some stuff. Praying I can be a healthy 6. Thank you for the video. Oh! Something pretty funny. I have 3 kids and I have always told them...” you can be a problem solver or a problem causer “... 😂.
A big reason I’m quitting my job is because I literally feel like I’m not worth much to my company. I’m quitting and going to school for something else.
Hey Hillary, Thanks for some great content. :) You do a great overview of the types and seem very knowledgeable. But it's not uncommon to have blind spots around our own personalities. And no disrespect intended, but I really think you've misjudged your own type. A lot of women mistype as nines, especially sixes, and especially if they've been submissive or compromised themselves for other people much of their life, or prefer others to make decisions for them. That's very common. But that alone does NOT make you a Nine. Sixes and Nines CAN be similar in their deference/loyalty to authority figures. But Nines have a certain energy about them I'm not picking up on from you...if anything, it's in your husband. I'd agree with a Nine wing for him. You really strike me as a Six, with phobic tendencies, and maybe leaning towards counter-phobic when you do argue with your husband. I can also see you connecting strongly through your arrows to both Three and Nine, and maybe also having One in your tritype. And if you do feel you have tendencies to withdraw that could indicate a five wing, or just general introversion. But I'd say you are mostly inclined to be compliant for sure. Just my opinion. Tell us what we’re doing right and offer encouragement, because we’re plagued with self-doubts and seem to forget our successes.

Definitely agree that we want people to listen to us and take us seriously. Being dismissed is a huge pet peeve of mine.

A lot of this would fit, probably, if I didn't also have crippling ADHD. I mainly just hide away and hope nobody targets me for my disability.
