Voice over artists have taken a huge hit. Most small commercials for social media and TV are just done with AI. And by gosh stock images and video are taking huge hits as we speak. Maybe long term it will be like 3D printing. I'm sure 3D printing has changed the world in subtle ways but you really have to look to see how it has done it.

Nothing wrong with that. My cousin lives in a bubble.

Ai is good for tracking you, reading your information, storing phone calls. What world do you people live in? Ai is bad for gaming, but really good for breaking passwords. The world is not just about entertainment or money. Ai is really good at gathering info about you.

I think when AI builds DBs (including human info) the accuracy is still a big issue. The QC is often worse than building the DB manually.

What you guys are referring to as AI is simply non-linear statistics. That area has been known since the earliest days of statistics. Exploration of non-linear statistics have never been practical before because of the huge amount of data and computation power needed. This changed in recent years with the breakthroughs in modern computing, computer chips and the development of the IT economy to such a point where massive datasets are now collectable in a cost effective way. So it is not that the AI bubble has burst. AI was never even here. Real AI is something far bigger and more complicated than non-linear statistics. What is bursting now, and predictably so, is just the silly bubble around the applications of non-linear statistics.

If you understand how it works, it's regression. If you sort of understand, it's machine learning. And if you have no idea how the hell that abomination of mathematics is functioning, then it's AI.
AI is just statistics, but sometimes quantity has a quality of it's own. Simply volume of data and enough dimensions to play with can lead to solving problems that are impossible to even formally define - enough to make such useful toys as image generators and LLMs. Just go to find a use for them that isn't spam generation.

@@vylbird8014 The problem with these people is they equate non-linear statistical models with AI, which is non-sensical.
None of these non-linear statistical models are able to mimic intelligence in the slightest. The only way you get to something that looks similar in output is if you severely restrict the input space to an absurdly tiny scope.

It’s really great for programming. I’m at least 10x more productive in that regard.

especially good when you learn new language or library (new for you)... round brackets due to fact the newer technology less data to train LLMs

I went from "I don't like to code myself" to doing incredible apps. It's not easy with LLMs, but it's possible and when you once get it done, next time, you keep trying and improving. You know that the fix is prompt away, or maybe you ask Claude to help, or you start from begging with different approach.

i think you are being a little petulant here. Dismissing AI as a passing thing, a shirt you wear a couple times is foolish.
