    I later found out the Bison leather is from Seidel.. i finally got confirmation from JK themselves..
    It's Frank's that uses Bison hides from Law Tannery..

    I have JKs Superduty Bison, and they are comfy AF.
    I was hiking with my friends, and 12+ hours in those boots felt like nothing. Yes they are heavy, but i have never thought that "oh man i need to take them off to rest my feet..."
    Next i will order these OTs in Shadow Bison

      yes the feel of a high quality PNW boot is unlike any piece of footwear out there : )

    JK did send me replacement longer laces immediately after i emailed them about it. No charge. No questions.. and they were the perfect length laces.

    Did you feel the sizing was similar to White's? About a size down from tennis shoe size. Thanks for the review 👍

      @@joedart2932 it depends on which z White's last.. and which JK last..
      This is 8.5d and smaller than my White's 8.5d on 4811 last.. particularly the length.. but both still fit fine

    Whoa, I thought JK was using Seidel Tannery for their Bison leather??

    • @toneohm
      @toneohm  8 місяців тому +1

      Na I'm almost positive.. they're both in Milwaukee though I believe.. Law is the biggest though for Bison tanning.. I think Rose Anvil got it wrong about them doing Seidel

    Try running the laces through your kilties the other way, it will prevent them from bunching up, if you care about that stuff.

    I agree, the tongue leather feels like pleather on the outside. Also agree with the strong smell of glue and short laces. Great boots none the less. 👍

      @toneohm  8 місяців тому +1

      they did atleast replace the laces asap.. sent me new ones immediately when I emailed about it and the new ones fit perfectly.. the tongue however.., it just wasn't a good length.. too wide.. too much material.. but most companies use a lesser quality for the tongue... except White's

    The Seidel work leather on the Nick's is an 8 ounce leather, while the Horween leathers are 6.5 ounces.The Horween leathers are generally used in more casual boots and the Seidel used in work boots. Frank is the guy who worked in Nick's and branched off . Frank's boots have the best QC and are the epitome of custom made boots. Get yourself a pair of Frank's and you won't regret it.

      Seidel work leather 7-8 and Horween 5-6 is what i've always read.. yea i'd like to get around to Frank's one of these days

      Lol,, trading one addiction for another I suppose 😆 been taking a breather on the v@pe gear.. I mean,, if companies or ppl sent me stuff I'd do it regardless.. but there's only a few products out that I'd really want to bother with buying., idk.. feel like there's been an overall decline with it everywhere.. things seem to have changed a bit

      @ggggggggggggggggg1 did I mention them in this video..? If so , I don't remember.. lol,,
      I like them for being US made, having a long history, and offering the cheapest Horween Cordovan boots on the market.. if the Higgins Mill just had a leather insole and midsole.., I'd definitely grab a pair..
      But just like Alden.. they use leatherboard for in/Mid soles.. and it appears they always have actually.. so despite them wearing out faster,, that might actually be what contributes to their level of comfort.. bc they are extremely comfortable I must admit.. and lightweight

      @@toneohm the heel counter is the problem. it will break. maybe ok for dress shoes but not for boots.
