Hi Marina. You’ve got it. Cucamelon, like cucumbers, are fussy and whilst a bit temperamental to begin with soon grow. I’ve found that once the plants are about 10cm in height that they are more tolerant of the environment. Better to still keep them on the dry side until established. Enjoy your growing of them.
Hi Ian. I’ve got some cucamelons on the go. Can you just tell me if they need to be grown up a trellis or arch as such as I’ve never grown them before. Thanks
Hi Deb. The first couple of times I just grew them up canes, tying them up as they grew. Last year I just hung a string down from the greenhouse roof and let the plants self climb. Growing up netting works really well as it allows the plants to spread out more. Enjoy growing them and let me know what you think of the taste. If you haven’t grown before then wait until the fruits have got larger to get full flavour, otherwise they can be more bitter. Enjoy your day 🥒🌻
Thanks for watching. This video was from last year and this year I have decided not to actually grow any. Basically it turns out that I’m the only one in the family who likes them!! So this year I’m growing more of what everyone likes to eat, normally cucumbers. Glad your plants are doing so well. Happy growing 🥒🍈
Hi. Thanks for watching and your message. You could plant multiple plants in each pot. The reason that I don’t is because the plants grow so rapidly, so I want each one to establish as well as it can do. If you have a lot of plants then why not trial some as individual plants in separate pots and some as multiple plants in a pot, and then compare for yourself. All the best with your growing and enjoy the eating 🥒🍈
I understand once they start growing they are good to go, slow at first.👍🏻

I’m at the same stage as you this year! Do you leave your cucamelons outside or under cover?
Thanks for watching.

@@diyhomeandgardening Ah yes I saw it was from last year. Did you grow them inside or outside?
@@ConnectNealy Last year I grew them inside, 3 plants in a 1m trough, but previously I grew them outside in individual pots.
Can I have more than 1 per pot? Say I double the size? Then allow it the ability to vine up?

I've got 2 per 15 litre bucket, hoping that'll be big enough.
@@yamanmustafa They will be okay, 2 per pot, so long as you can maintain daily watering and feeding.
Happy growing 🌸
