So I’ve stated before Zen you taught me everything I know now. 6 years ago. Made it Hardwell’s label making bigroom, but being from Cali, I finally switched to making house music. My first release is called Vodka Redbull and Gene Farris wants to sign it to his label. I literally recorded the vocal on my iPhone lol.
Hahahahahah love your style of humour here :P Question: Could you go through your new release Can I Ask You and possibly explain the project and your workflow through each of the components in the track? Keep up the good work!
I used to think compression was volume automation too, but due to the attack and release the sound really glues in a way that is not very understandable to me. I avoided it for years unless i needed strict volume automation but nowadays i'll compress even my clean synth kicks by 1db just to add that color. I think it's a very valid reason to use a compressor. That El Rey compressor really makes these vocals shine imo!
Zen, you are my music production go to guy! Love the teaching style and the humour. One quick question, at the end where you add an extra chain for the vocals. how do you maintain the levels? Would they not double up each time you had the extra chained FX? Cheers :)
any chance you can do a video with creating beats around an Acapellas or vocals that's the starting point? thank you so much for all your wonderful videos!
compression is subtractive - only when you turn the volume up does it 'add colour' - compression is used to shape a sound [sure upwards - but it controls the down but squashing it up]
To add air you have the Oversampled plugin called "Pancz" which also does transient shaping and multiband compression, since i have it i put it on literally all my tracks, it's a banger plugin to have
I need this westend vocal rack in my life. I can't find it anywhere :(
Need to see Jon Sine vs Zen World on the next Jake Paul card lol
Not gonna lie , When i record & hear back the AUDIO.. I hear Things i shouldn't be hearing .lol

@@ZenWorld I Zen, love your work. Could you please provide us the Westend vocal chain? Can't find it anywhere. Would be very much appreciated
how does it work for the melodic house and melodic techno its similar to this or different?
Well this is for tech house but everything is the same except the sound design. All the depends if it’s melodic or atonal!

Yeah they would but you would EQ out and level like any other new source of sound. You can also apply a Compressor to control any spike
@@ZenWorld Ace, thanks mate!

What Mic have you got? Which would you recommend for someone looking to do their own vocals/acapellas
