It’s been a while since I ran a mazak, and you have refresh my memory!! Thanks for the videos and the knowledge you provide. This should be very helpful for young men and woman who are starting in this industry. Keep up the good work!! From Houston Tx
Thanks again for the great training. You talked about it does a rapid in that mode. If i remember long ago when running t2 control it ignored the keyboard manual rapid override and it goes full machine rapid ( 400 ipm) while running program. All other rapid moves like facing, etc ran with keyboard proper over ride. Yup, makes you tense up quick. Keep the video's coming. I'm enjoying
Your explanations are really well thought out and to the point. At the end you asked for suggestions. I suppose the top of my wish list would be: How to use the VFC function, but more importantly how to reset it. (We call it the Very F***ing Clever button!) How to alter the tool change position.
Got it. I love the VFC button! I will show you how to adjust the tool change position on a T-2 and T-3 control no problem. Newer controllers have different parameters so I can't show how to alter the tool change point on those machines. Thank you for the suggestions.
Gday Phil please will you do a video on how to machine say 6 off the same part without having to set z zero each time manually ? The part I am machining is 17.5 mm wide so after I part off I am thinking I should be able to type 17.6 in X so .1 to clean up face on next part further down the bar. I’m thinking I could have the bar 150 mm out there for being able to make say six or so parts in one set up and the machine moved down the width of the job +.1 as the new zero each time is this possible please ? I have mazak qt15n 1994 with Mazatrol t-plus and thanks love your videos 👍from Skip living in the UK
Just curious why not turn down OD to a rough diameter Then, Use a wide grooving tool to rough out the groove then come in with short grooving tool to finish them finish OD with turning tool? I know on some machines like Okuma you can set 2 different tool offsets for front side and back side of grooving tool so when you program the part the machines knows which edge of tool you are using. I’m not too sure about the Mazak if it has that feature as well. But just in my opinion it would be faster to rough out groove with wide grooving tool then finish with smaller grooving tool without having to machine out that angle/taper that you have in your program. Maybe I didn’t see something or you can help me see it from your point of view why you did it that way Thanks 🙏🏼
Hi nice vid, I tried using cpy out to help clear swarf but it wont cut my radiuses do you have any advice on how to reverse the cut on a normal bar out unit?
@@mazatroltipsandtricks6816 , that's awesome you do that at home. Fortunately mazak programming is similar in all machines. I'll get as much info as I can from your videos. Thank you
Sure. To help you right now the process is the same as forward turning except the starting Z point is to the left and the Z points get smaller towards Z zero.
I'm totally fresh in a Mazak quick turn and got stuck with a minor problem. I got a alarm saying tool lengt over(1109). Two toolholders on my 12 tool turret is slightly longer (around 20 mm) and the machine refuses to measure in X. The guy that installed the machine fixed it on one of them, but I can't recall how he dit it. Maybe it must be defined somewhere 🤔 Anyways I find it easy to handle compare to my old Harrison teach in lathe that also has a turret, but only 8 tools. As I went from 6 m/min to 30 m/min in rapid traverse it took a couple of days to set it on 100% I got scared🤣
Hello Sir , could you explain how to progrom the parts catcher in a mazatrol program on a QT 20 lathe with T plus mazatrol ? I have already learned a lot from your videos Thanks ! Eddy
You would need to know the M-codes for part catcher and put M code in to extend the parts catcher before the cut off sequence and then another M-code to retract it after cut off.
Left hand thread are programmed exactly the same. The only difference is you install a left hand threading holder. Making a LH thread with a RH holder does not work well on this machine.
Love your tutorials been very helpful I just started mazatrol in was trying to take some classes but I'm in sacramento california thanks slot for the video
What do you need G-code programming for on this old control? It will not do macro programming so it's very limited. The G-code side of this machine is comparable to a Fanuc 6T control.
Be careful doing mazatrol and g code in same program. Crashes may happen. I've done it. Always get the turret to home after g code or it rotates the turret at last z location in g code.

Thank you for the compliment.
I got stuck doing a job on mazak today, After seeing your video I am sure I figured out where my mistake was, Thanks once again cheers
Cool. Glad it helped.
this is why i love mazatrol it has just made programming so easy so stupid even i can do it !!

Interesting way of doing it. I'm used to groove parts like that using a 5 mm wide tool. I think your way make better surface.

Awesome !! That helped a lot.
Thanks.
Hi Sir,
Could you answer any question about Mazak integrex e -670h if need
nice & thanks
Hi nice vid, I tried using cpy out to help clear swarf but it wont cut my radiuses do you have any advice on how to reverse the cut on a normal bar out unit?
Check your tool description.
Finishing like that it is possible to get chatter on back side of flange. You should finish from top of the flange down to o.d diameter.
Nice helpfull video
But why don’t you just use that first corner toolpath? But program a tapered line there?
You can't. It only does a line and a face.
