I like how nascar throws debris cautions and doesn't show the debris, but a trash bag on the track is just one of those things a driver has to deal with
Ask Jeff Gordon about beer cans. At least they came flying at him after the race was over.
They said the engine temp went to 350F. I'm surprised the engine didn't melt down. Amazing to finish 10th!
I agree. Hendricks Racing builds some stout engines. It must have hurt it's horsepower some.

Still doesn't explain it. WHERE exactly was the can? If it's inside the bag, how does it get past the nose openings and up into any filter?
KENNY: The 48 car was RIGHT THERE in front of the 24 when this happened. Why didn't they have Bowman back off the gas for a second and let the 24 tuck right in behind? We've seen it work many times where the airflow disrupts and the debris lets go.

If that bad was on the track Nascar would have thrown a caution. I believe they should have done the same, what if it came loose and covered the windshield.
That bag was seen on tv a few times rolling up against the fence before Byron found it.

Byron looked like the 2nd best car before the bag struck, wouldve been interesting to see how the race played out, especially if Bubba still ended up lapped and behind Reddick.

@@genemaverick5705 you spelled Reddick wrong. Kyle won every stage and by far the most laps and at one point led by almost 4seconds. I like Byron being from Michigan, but he wasn’t going to win with or without the baggage 😂

Man Herman when that tweet said "There was a silver bullet in our air filter" I seriously LMAO 🤣 But now I'm thinking about how awesome that car was to still finished in the top 10 WITH a beer can in the intake like what in the hell?!?!?! That had to be one helluva piece only if it wasn't for a trash bag concealing a beer can 😂
I feel like a lot of people are going to make jokes about it and im looking forward for it. Also imagine if he gets sponsored by them after all this i think it would be cool and funny

Can't NASCAR go out there before the race and make sure that the track is clear?!! I mean come on, I know it was windy but there was trash all over the place on the track. You could see it on TV.

I seen the trash bag, briefly, in a frame from one of the front stretch cameras .. told my girlfriend "that's going to end up on the nose of someone's car". There was a caution for the 1st stage break, and then a caution after the restart for the 17 car of Chris Buescher, who lost a wheel and did damage to the SAFER barrier when he hit the wall, which led to a red flag for repairs. In all that time, with the AMR safety crews and jet blowers on the track .. how the hell do you miss a big black 55 gal. trash bag out there somewhere ??? NASCAR officials all around the track, someone had to have seen it, it didn't just go away. At first glance, after they went green again, when they showed Byron's car, I thought it was Bear Bond, but I immediately realized it was that BIG BLACK TRASH BAG!
I mean, I get missing a hotdog wrapper or such, but a 55 gal. BLACK TRASH BAG ??? ... C'mon NASCAR, really ??? You didn't miss that little 2"x 2" piece of webbing on Lagano's left glove though, did ya.
No way did the beer can get in airfilter unless placed in there before race .
Screw nascar for not throwing a caution also it shows how good Byron is
That happened at Talladega even before Gordon's win with beer cans thrown on the racetrack and what im talking about is when Geoff Bodine's in the 1994 Winston 500 at Talladega when some fans throwing beer cans from the grandstands at turn one and Geoff Bodine hit the can and when he got to turn three popped his tire send him to the wall and just ruin his day at the time. Plus the same day at the 94 Winston 500 is the same day that Ayrton Senna died at the Italian Grand Prix maybe a stupid fan caused his death by a beer can and I now a beer didn't cause Ayrton Senna death besides him lost control and hitting the wall head on. We all as a whole racing fans we need to stop throwing thing onto the race tracks around the world.

Byron did a masterful job getting back into the top 10 at Vegas but he was slower than Larsen. Come on Dude. Larson won both stages and the race. Owned everyone.

hmm ah ahhhehhe what was the old silver bullet themed car in the mid or late 90's I belive it was for a special race or for the 4th of july or the winston select or something special, driven by sterling marlin or what was that special edition car the dale earnheart drove, eh anyway, we ought to nickname him william silverbullet byron now if he hasn't a nickname already.

First how does it happen
Must have broke the bag, rolled up the hood and came in through the cowl is my guess. There is no route to the air filter through the front air dam/spoiler/splitter that I know of.
