Call it A triple F, it's a lot easier. Also, look up foam refraction testing for the trucks. Basically, you would stand in the foam spray and catch the water/foam mixture on a refractometer and get a reading of the percentage of foam in the water. It was a yearly requirement and when they found out AFFF was bad they went to a no foam measurement system.
It’s not just firefighters who had direct exposure to AFFF. I was in the Air Force for 26 years, and they foamed runways for inflight emergencies, and major fuel spills. Safety, Law Enforcement, fuels guys, medics, maintenance, supervisor of flying, and others had to respond to incidents while wading through a sea of AFFF. To make matters worse, only the firefighters had PPE and air packs. The rest of us ended up wearing that stuff and having it blown in our faces.
Was an ABH and firefighter on an Amphib Carrier for 3.5 years and afterwards worked as NAS fire school trainer and firefighter for 2 years. We scrubbed the flight and hangar decks with A triple F and used it for firefighting drills and training. Developed Bronchitis back in early 2000s and now I have a constant frog in my throat that I have to clear now and then, congestion that seems to randomly come and go, and my ability to taste and smell has been compromised ever since. it's not as severe as some others' conditions, but it has been with me now for about 20 years.
I retired as a HTCM and we used to swim in that stuff. It was common to be asked to spray the engines and buildges to help degrease them. Once the word got around, we has a had time keeping AFFF in stock. in 2023 I was granted a zero % claim for "fire fighting foam" causing prostate cancer. I apealed it and got 60% but the words AFFF was not in that decision letter. ???
Is there any information about RAIDON ? I lived on a base that gave us a tester that sat in the living room and a few months later they picked up , no answers
Was in the navy as a damage control firefighter for 4 years. We used 3m. Had leukemia and asthma after the navy. Denied by va twice so far but to my understanding it is not recognized yet. I have been a part of a lawsuit but it hasnt gotten anywhere for the past 6 years or so.
This is a developing area of law in general, but also specifically in Veterans Law. Stay tuned for the latest on PFAS exposure among veterans.

If anyone was stationed at Fort Carson, CO you can google a US Army Corp of Engineers report on PFAS in a pdf format of the exposure there.
Are any of the bases located in other countries?
What is the payout if you have more than one disease associate with the water contaminated? (Testicular cancer and kidney disease)....
Has Ft Dix been listed as contaminated ⁉️...How about Ft Lee..aka Ft Gregg Adams?? I did Basic at Ft Dix & A.I.T. at Ft Lee...
We call it "A triple F".
A triple F
So in 25+ years when most of the veterns are no longer around. The gov. is going to give a presumptive condition of A triple F.
Now they are finding PFAS in the firefighting gear itself.
how would i know if i was exposed to afff/pfas?i did my boot camp in orlando fl and i was stationed onboard the uss saratoga cv/60 mar8 92-june24 99
