As a Pastor with 43 years ministry experience, I firmly believe we are accountable to God first and foremost, but also to the people we pastor as well as to the community.
Sin is sin in God sight. If the pastor is not right how do you expect the people to be right He is not giving the word of God to help the people see the light. He is walking in darkness and not light . He is a man of flesh not a man of the spirit of God.
I am just an assistant to a pastor in Sacramento California and my feeling is that these pastors all getting caught with their business and their zipper is a good Learning lesson for people to realize there is no hiding from God's judgement
Here is what Jesus showed me when I asked what was going on and I heard in my spirit go to Ezekiel 34:10 and was led to use the NLT Translation. You absolutely have a right to know the actions of the people who are leading you spiritually! These kinds of actions would not be acceptable from executives of corporate organizations. Why would it be acceptable for leaders of the Faith to engage in sexual and moral corruption? When I see Pastors and Leaders being called out, I don't join in with gossip but I take a moment to ask God for forgiveness of my own sin and pray for those impacted by the Leader's actions. I just humble myself and trust God to handle His house!

I believe in everybody's right to worship who they want and I don't even want a statue of Jesus because it breaks a commandment but the devil is shoving it in our faces right now and it amazes me how many people are not waking up. Yes, false churches. Take time to hear what some of these people preach, and follow along with a Bible. Chances are you will just hold it, since they rarely refer to it.

It seems that people like TD Jakes, Joel Osteen, Jesse Duplantis and Kenneth Copeland love their money more than anything. The blowup of the prosperity gospel has given them a free pass. I think these people hurt people more directly like sexually assaulted them versus just assaulting them subtly in their pocketbook. I can't say for sure but just knowing things like Joe Osteen says there's more than one way to heaven. That kills my heart because that story of Jesus praying on the mountain begging the father to take that cup from him if there was any other way and we know that there was no other way. He's leading people to believe that their works can get them to heaven, likely specifically giving him money. Clearly their fruits stink and I would question if they are even saved based on their actions but only God knows. I think these people leaving these churches sexually assaulted and violated women. I'm not saying one is worse than the other. They are both awful but even though the love of money and putting it above God will keep you out of heaven, doesn't seem to be a problem on this earth.
I live in TX and my Pastor was not a good leader. I'm not going into detail but I quit paying my tithes and left the Church. I'm not going to support a Pastor that does wrong and continues to do wrong because I'm not going to be punished by GOD along with him. GOD Bless the members that are still there.
I haven't been to church in a while. I know that's terrible but not so much here in the Houston area but when I was in Austin, I went to a couple churches that made me feel a little icky about some of their teachings. I also won't mention the names but I did find a really good one and I got baptized there but then I moved back to the Houston area. It's a terrible attitude to have and reading your comment made me remember, keep trying till I find the right one 😉
I pray for the predators through clinch teeth and definitely pray for the victims with all my heart. I understand that's bad but that's all I've got right now. These women had to watch them preach week after week because a lot of their families stayed in those churches not knowing what was going on so I feel like this is justice for them. I know it's not the type of justice they probably need but it's the justice that they can get right now!
That's right and as growing up in a weird church, I would have expected them to ask for forgiveness and then continue on in their call of God, but after seeing it pointed out in the Word, a leader is to be without reproach. Our churches aren't even patterned after the new testament churches which never had leaders but met house to house where everyone was involved as they broke bread and learned the Word together as brothers and sisters.
I spoke to Jehova’s witnesses 3 months ago and explained to them the reason why SA is so rampant in ALL religions including theirs. As I see it, the hierarchical structure of religious organizations with top-down management causes too much authority and power to be in the top of the organisation. The people at the top of the organisation are considered “higher”, “wiser” and “spiritually mature” of course none of this is true. Also damaging information is kept between them as none of them want to loose their “high” position and status. Furthermore instead of reporting SA cases to the police they choose to be silent to keep a positive ‘clean’ image to ensure donors and other financial partners won’t back out. It’s nasty it’s horrific and disgusting to see how religious “leaders” fail again and again because they don’t practice what they preach and what’s worse is the people assigned to protecting the flock are in collusion allowing the abuse and destruction of vulnerable young lives. I was in a church (cult) where the pastor was abusing boys for 50 years, probably hundreds of victims. It was an egregious crime! Many congregants knew & protected him & many didn’t know, bcz they kept secrets. I didn’t find out until after I left! My 8 years as a member was Hell on earth, constant problems & confusion! Outsiders criticized the members for allowing it to happen for decades, but how many Black Christians vote for politicians or belong to a political party that promotes teaching G@y/L3sbian ideology in our public schools? Same thing!
When your weakness / be it disguised or dormant - is women (example ) -- your congregation is a variety of all those different ( Beautiful Women to the 10th power ) and unless your fasting and staying on your knees/ seeking the Holy Ghost and totally committed to Christ -- the more wealth and church fame you gain - it will often bring those same congregational Beautiful Women to the 10th power -- to appear as if your in high school playing sports and your that jock athlete that all the ladies adore 🥰-- then you go from preaching to bragging about life and what you can do financially! I grew up in an older COGIC church- ⛪️ but one thing I know is that as much as church was continuous and revivals were common ! We constantly fast and stay at the alter-- but today I see a lot of old men in Baptist churches that have lived their lives see w/o concern or conflict but are just too old to do what they used to do! I’ve seen deacons pray in church and outside smoking cigarettes later that day . Instead, I think they are starting to leave, because their sins, that they thought were so well hidden, have come to light by wives, victims, or church officials, but especially by the orchestrating of God's will

Weren't Earl Paulk, Eddie Long, Jim Jones , and probably those listed in this video and in Dawson and Denise videos showing ordain pastors pleading guilty of molesting children male and female. Therefore what were supposed to gain by hearing that you are licensed and ordained by some school or group when the tenor of this post is about ordained and licensed ministers.. Please help me. For if you are asking for help or reprimand to repent, we should try to assist you. I don't believe Tony Evans stepped down voluntarily. Most men won't do that, especially being in leadership for over 45 years. He had someone dangling something over his head and he was trying to get ahead of it. In other words, he was being blackmailed.
I found Tony Evans to be a shocking one. I've listened to a lot of his messages as I live in Texas and he's on the Christian talk radio station a lot. They will play sermons from various pastors. I never got that vibe from him. He always goes back to the Bible. We all stumble sometimes. Pastors are held to a higher standard but they are still human. I like your comment!!

It happened to my wife and I. After years of time spent with this other couple, one night we were over at they're house for dinner. A sub-paster. I went to use the rest room, and when I came out, his wife was dressed half naked in the master bedroom. I immediately grabbed my wife and we left. They blamed it all on me and got me kicked out of the church. Well, it messed me up for years.

These pastors didn’t volunteer to step down, their leadership told them to do it. Not one of these pastors made the decision on their own. That was one of the few details given by Tony Evans. They are trying to play damage control. Look at the Hillsong and other documentaries that have been released. Judgment does start in the house of the Lord.
The Most High is found Within Us, and not necessarily in the church building. This is precisely what's causing so many people to trip and Fall. They've been led to believe that God is only found between those four walls. I found him inside a community college. I'm now at the University at 64. God can be found everywhere. I'm no longer dependent on the church building when it comes to finding God. I always go within myself, before l ever think about going outside of myself.

A true Christian don't walk away from God because of sin. They repent and receive Jesus's forgiveness ( you know,The God who died for the forgiveness of our sins ) However it's right a for pastor to step down from pastoral ministry if for these types of sins, but they will receive God's forgiveness if they truly repent.

I'm 68 now, but growing up, my Dad ALWAYS told me that if I ever KNOW I'm doing something wrong, that I'm just SO CERTAIN I can get away with, to always remember this: *_People have big MOUTHS, but more importantly, GOD has even bigger EYES._* Also, I was once told by a former Pentecostal church pastor, that when these "united" type churches have conventions, and they are way out of town, then by word of mouth, all of the pastor buddies are told to leave their wives at home.

I don't know what's going on, I'm States away. I hope these pastors are setting an example for those members in the pews. And I don't mean for the sake of setting an example but genuine, and sincere, repentance. That's part of the process of the disciple's walk with God. Let's pray for these pastors and the congregations as they go through this time that they come out more pleasing to God.
Sometimes when they continue to do what they do, they eventually begin to feel a sense of unease. They’re either being convicted after numerous times of doing what they’re doing. Or, they have finally been found out about. They probably have been given an alternative choice. Leave, or be exposed, because they are way in over their heads. Many who are guilty, refuse to leave, because they are truly addicted to what they continually do, and they don’t want to let that money and control go. So now, they have to be exposed.

We are in a season of exposure. Removal from the pedestals many pastors have been placed upon is more news worthy than the pew warmers. To continue in unholy behavior in this season no matter who we are is speaking loud and clear to The One who already knows all. He, in His compassion and mercy is offering the opportunity for repentance. I didn't protect him. He was my husband an Apostle. I fasted and prayed and TMH moved supernaturally for me and unalived him with a heart failure and not only him the lady who was his main Assistant Yah took her also. TMH cleaned house. I can't tell it all here but 2018 big church scandal around Godwin NC. I don't care TMH told me to leave after 30 years; told me a way would be made for me. After almost a million dollar in donations I packed up my van and left everything else. These people need to trust TMH AND HE WILL MAKE A WAY FOR THEM AS HE DID ME. SHALOM

For those men who (allegedly) committed crimes, than they must pay the human sentences. The Lord will deal with each man in His way. His ways are not ours.

What ever the head of congregation is doing flows down to the rest of the church. If the pastor is seeking righteousness, righteousness will flow down. If he is seeking out secret sins, then fully expect those sins to manifest throughout the congregation.
No. I've seen things like that here in Virginia. Pastor's having relationships and even children with other members behind the wives back. Some people stayed, and alot of people left. One pastor said that he was not stepping down after his sin. I could never sit under leadership like that.

Religion must accept criticism. Without criticism, you can't heal yourself and get better. Personally, I gave up religion after fifty years of faith. My life has improved. Perhaps GOD is EXPOSING that the congregations will identify their errors which they may have not known they are sinning versus slipping up. I had discussions at church yesterday about rather Christians should still read books by men like Tony Evans after they step down bc sin. I got rid Morris books because of sexual assaults and his prosperity gospel. I’m not ok with pastors hidden sin and deception for years 😢 Tony Evans vague on his secret sin. A church peer thinks it was related to his marriage. Does it disqualify the messages in their books? Not sure I want to spend money on their books anymore.

As a Christian you represent GOD and the church you attend, my pastor use to say, don't go out there embarrassing me and this church, also his members will learn the bible! You are representing GOD and this church and he will not have his members saying they belong to our church and don't know the bible or refuse to live accordingly.

As a Pastor with 43 years ministry experience, I firmly believe we are accountable to God first and foremost, but also to the people we pastor as well as to the community.

When I see Pastors and Leaders being called out, I don't join in with gossip but I take a moment to ask God for forgiveness of my own sin and pray for those impacted by the Leader's actions. It seems that people like TD Jakes, Joel Osteen, Jesse Duplantis and Kenneth Copeland love their money more than anything. The blowup of the prosperity gospel has given them a free pass. I think these people hurt people more directly like sexually assaulted them versus just assaulting them subtly in their pocketbook. I can't say for sure but just knowing things like Joe Osteen says there's more than one way to heaven. That kills my heart because that story of Jesus praying on the mountain begging the father to take that cup from him if there was any other way and we know that there was no other way. He's leading people to believe that their works can get them to heaven, likely specifically giving him money. Clearly their fruits stink and I would question if they are even saved based on their actions but only God knows. I think these people leaving these churches sexually assaulted and violated women. I'm not saying one is worse than the other. They are both awful but even though the love of money and putting it above God will keep you out of heaven, doesn't seem to be a problem on this earth.

I live in TX and my Pastor was not a good leader. I'm not going into detail but I quit paying my tithes and left the Church. I'm not going to support a Pastor that does wrong and continues to do wrong because I'm not going to be punished by GOD along with him. GOD Bless the members that are still there.
I haven't been to church in a while. I know that's terrible but not so much here in the Houston area but when I was in Austin, I went to a couple churches that made me feel a little icky about some of their teachings. I also won't mention the names but I did find a really good one and I got baptized there but then I moved back to the Houston area. It's a terrible attitude to have and reading your comment made me remember, keep trying till I find the right one 😉

I pray for the predators through clinch teeth and definitely pray for the victims with all my heart. I understand that's bad but that's all I've got right now. These women had to watch them preach week after week because a lot of their families stayed in those churches not knowing what was going on so I feel like this is justice for them. I know it's not the type of justice they probably need but it's the justice that they can get right now!

That's right and as growing up in a weird church, I would have expected them to ask for forgiveness and then continue on in their call of God, but after seeing it pointed out in the Word, a leader is to be without reproach. Our churches aren't even patterned after the new testament churches which never had leaders but met house to house where everyone was involved as they broke bread and learned the Word together as brothers and sisters.

I spoke to Jehova’s witnesses 3 months ago and explained to them the reason why SA is so rampant in ALL religions including theirs. As I see it, the hierarchical structure of religious organizations with top-down management causes too much authority and power to be in the top of the organisation. The people at the top of the organisation are considered “higher”, “wiser” and “spiritually mature” of course none of this is true. Also damaging information is kept between them as none of them want to loose their “high” position and status. Furthermore instead of reporting SA cases to the police they choose to be silent to keep a positive ‘clean’ image to ensure donors and other financial partners won’t back out. It’s nasty it’s horrific and disgusting to see how religious “leaders” fail again and again because they don’t practice what they preach and what’s worse is the people assigned to protecting the flock are in collusion allowing the abuse and destruction of vulnerable young lives.

Those who are alive in Christ Jesus are living it out in life, not just talk. When they fall, they confess, repent and take what goes with it until healed, then restored.

I was in a church (cult) where the pastor was abusing boys for 50 years, probably hundreds of victims. It was an egregious crime! Many congregants knew & protected him & many didn’t know, bcz they kept secrets. I didn’t find out until after I left! My 8 years as a member was Hell on earth, constant problems & confusion! Outsiders criticized the members for allowing it to happen for decades, but how many Black Christians vote for politicians or belong to a political party that promotes teaching G@y/L3sbian ideology in our public schools? I grew up in an older COGIC church- ⛪️ but one thing I know is that as much as church was continuous and revivals were common ! We constantly fast and stay at the alter-- but today I see a lot of old men in Baptist churches that have lived their lives see w/o concern or conflict but are just too old to do what they used to do! I’ve seen deacons pray in church and outside smoking cigarettes later that day . I don't believe Tony Evans stepped down voluntarily. Most men won't do that, especially being in leadership for over 45 years. He had someone dangling something over his head and he was trying to get ahead of it. In other words, he was being blackmailed.
I found Tony Evans to be a shocking one. I've listened to a lot of his messages as I live in Texas and he's on the Christian talk radio station a lot. They will play sermons from various pastors. I never got that vibe from him. He always goes back to the Bible. We all stumble sometimes. Pastors are held to a higher standard but they are still human. I like your comment!!

I went to use the rest room, and when I came out, his wife was dressed half naked in the master bedroom. I immediately grabbed my wife and we left. They blamed it all on me and got me kicked out of the church. Well, it messed me up for years.
They lied on you- and God will openly vindicate you.

I don't know what's going on, I'm States away. I hope these pastors are setting an example for those members in the pews. And I don't mean for the sake of setting an example but genuine, and sincere, repentance. That's part of the process of the disciple's walk with God. Let's pray for these pastors and the congregations as they go through this time that they come out more pleasing to God.
Sometimes when they continue to do what they do, they eventually begin to feel a sense of unease. They’re either being convicted after numerous times of doing what they’re doing. Or, they have finally been found out about. They probably have been given an alternative choice. Leave, or be exposed, because they are way in over their heads. Many who are guilty, refuse to leave, because they are truly addicted to what they continually do, and they don’t want to let that money and control go. So now, they have to be exposed.

I can't tell it all here but 2018 big church scandal around Godwin NC. I don't care TMH told me to leave after 30 years; told me a way would be made for me. What ever the head of congregation is doing flows down to the rest of the church. If the pastor is seeking righteousness, righteousness will flow down. If he is seeking out secret sins, then fully expect those sins to manifest throughout the congregation.
No. I've seen things like that here in Virginia. Pastor's having relationships and even children with other members behind the wives back. Some people stayed, and alot of people left. One pastor said that he was not stepping down after his sin. I could never sit under leadership like that.

Perhaps GOD is EXPOSING that the congregations will identify their errors which they may have not known they are sinning versus slipping up. I had discussions at church yesterday about rather Christians should still read books by men like Tony Evans after they step down bc sin. I got rid Morris books because of sexual assaults and his prosperity gospel. I’m not ok with pastors hidden sin and deception for years 😢 Tony Evans vague on his secret sin. A church peer thinks it was related to his marriage. Does it disqualify the messages in their books? Not sure I want to spend money on their books anymore.

If they knew these things about people in their congregation and the pastor doesn't call it out, then GOD will hold the pastor accountable for that! If the congregation is like that then most likely the pastor is too!
