The most underrated footballer of all time.
Brought a tear to my eye that speech from Martin O’Neill. Brilliant
I’ve been going to Forest for 60 odd years and I can’t think of any player who did more for Forest than Robbo did. Outstanding talent.
Me too.
Martin O’Neil has so much charisma and character. John Robertson is very humble
Brian Clough, Robbo, Martin and co. An amazing band of men. Delighted to see Forrest in the Premier League again where you belong
C'mon Forest !!! We want you in PL !!!! We miss you in PL!!! A Tottenham Fan !!!
Now we have Martin O'Neill, we're on our way!

Loved watching forest in the late 70s on sportsnight- oneill was no slouch himself - powerful penetrating runs through the middle of the park- happy days
I still remember the day that Martin and John came to train with us at the Becket school not long after Martin signed for Forest. Watching their ascent into football folklore has given me indescribable joy as a lifelong Forest fan.
What a winger, rarely failed in getting a cross in and scored plenty, Brilliant Robbo!!
he was my hero - best forest player ever
Amazing player amazing Team NFFC **
A great team and Robbo was sensational.
What a player. Loved watching him tearing up the wing and putting crosses in. Many of which ended up as goals. Well done Robbo and thanks for the lovely memories.
Probably the Greatest Winger in living memory. All he was interested in was getting to the bye line and delivering.
Better than George Best, Jimmy Johnstone , Eddie Gray, to name a few....no way !
What a player
Huge respect for Nottingham Forest FC
For those of you old enough to remember the Anglo Scottish cup back in the 70’s I’ll never forget going to watch Forest play Orient at Brisbane road . My mum picked me up after school and we drove to my uncles in Stratford and set off to watch the game . Obviously a West Ham fan and watching Orient when West Ham wasn’t playing I looked forward to my first evening game , must have been about 12yrs old ..this was the start of the great Forest team and I’ll never forget John Robertson’s first half display . Orient had a right back called Bobby Fisher and Robertson turned him inside out and back again it was embarrassing for Bobby , I felt embarrassed 🙈 and I was only watching , in fact the mauling of Fisher by Robertson was so severe that poor Bobby never appeared for the second half . Not knowing at the time not only was I witnessing a fantastic player and a wonderful team And what they were going onto achieve I’m not even sure if Clough and Taylor were the managers at that time but what I do remember is that poor Bobby Fisher spent more time on the seat of his pant than he did on his feet . You don’t have to support a team to appreciate when you have seen a great one ...you will never see another team like Forest that achieved what they did those days , times and managers have long gone but the memories never fade 👌🏻
I've read that Clough believed winning the Anglo-Scottish Cup was what kickstarted Nottingham Forest's success when he was manager. Most players don't win any medals or trophies so winning an admittedly rather obscure trophy gave the team a taste of what it's like to win the big prizes. What Clough and Taylor achieved back then is unlikely to be replicated.
The way he went around players was amazing, incredible talent. And he scored goals with both feet as well. And his heeeeed.
Superb group of people, John Robertson was the most under rated winger in the world at the time, Real Madrid dont know what they missed, great memories of great football from a great team.
Robertson was absolutely phenomenal. Loved watching him, and wasn't a Forest fan, but became one over the years.
Best winger ive ever seen and im a Man City fan
Absolutely....brilliant! Thanks for the memories lad!
I remember watching an interview with Trevor Francis years ago - I was a blues fan and had seen Trev come up from a kid. He started talking about Forest and said 'well, we all knew who the best player was' Robbo
My eyes full of tears...Nottingham forest my favourite club on earth...pls forest pls come back to PL....PL needs the history the aura the warmth of forest.....
🙏🙏🙏
We did it. Back in the top level.

Greatest winger I have ever seen. My football hero!
@ShiftCtrl85 johnstone was the best winger / footballer ive ever seen . But Robertson was a great player .
Incredible story.
Best Forest player ever and my hero as a boy. Tried to imitate him when I played with my mates but then I didn’t smoke or have a magical left foot!
There's nothing he couldn't do with a football at his feet. Reds legend.
Heroes !
Thank you for what you done for my club 💚🍀
Robbo what a player
Stan collymore should be in the hall of fame one of the best players of all time
Super player!!!
Still the hairs stand on my neck looking back at those clips from the 70s and 80s.A proper footballer in every sense of the word.

The EUROPEAN FINALS OF MY COLLEGE DAYS. I WAS A NOTT FOREST FAN SINCE 2ND DIVISION!
he knew how to skin em alive on that left wing. congratulations john, well deserved.
Fantastic player..... from a scotland fan
I’ve been a forest fan since I was 4 and I’m 40 now and I love the club and I use to walk down the Trent to the games with my uncle who has passed away now and my father and now me and my son will walk down the Trent and pass the great football club on to him! ✌🏻👍
JR..genius. Clough genius
❤
The Rocky Balboa of soccer
Great times. Are more great times ahead???? Hope so x
John s had a wee swally
John Robertson/Davie Cooper. Talent god given.
they built a dynasty around him...
I don't follow Forest but I've been looking at some matches from that Clough/Taylor era and what a great side they were! No wonder they won 2 European Cups! Etc
European club football was in the doldrums in the 70s .Teams like Bruges, Malmo Borrussia Dortmund were in European Cup finals . English club sides then were hard and well organised and if not that technically good this could win European Cups for them. Forest were a functional side with one or two decent players ,they were certainly not a 'GREAT' side by any stretch of the inagination. O'Neill claiming Robertson was the BEST player in thhe world for FIVE years at the time when Maradona, Platini, Zico , Socrates, Falcao , Kempes etc were playing is just utter nonsense.
I’m very disappointed as a forest fan with that picture that’s being done and the fact I wasn’t asked to do it. 😡
Icon card incoming
Can someone name all the players on the stage please? I recognise Birtles, Bowyer, Clarke, Mcgovern and O' Neil. Thanks.
I think you've helped me with one there as I didn't quite recognise Bowyer ( was he the one to the left of Frank Clark? ) but I think the other two you haven't mentioned are Colin Barrett ( way over on the left ) and David Needham ( way over on the right ).
@@annandune yes that's right on Birtles left.
Robbo. Penalty king. Fantastic left winger.
