Alex is 100% the reason I started following sailing, sad to see him stepping back.
Fun start with Alex!, thx, Andrew
Excellent reporting. Thank you! Hope to see you next Saturday.
Thank you!
Great to have you back! How else can we go around the globe, in pandemic times, without Seawolves?
:)
Very artistic first two minutes before the show.
:D Thank you
There we go! That’s more like it. Much appreciated 😀👍
Thank you :)
4 am is the time for me. A bit early on the US east coast. But if I’m awake I’ll be there. Thanks Florian.
Aaaahh, coffee and trimarans, wonderfull combination!
:)
what a way to close this year- so good to share this cup of coffee with you at a time of day it is needed most!! skol from south west montana, where the sea wolf has returned with our fist powder. skol Seawolves, and may the new year bring you fair winds to the back sides! ; ),
(Y)
it would mean a lot to a few of us if you could keep us up to date now and then with the rowing challenges currently bobbing on the high seas!! thank you for this brief shout out today to these intrepid rowing souls... thank you!
it was the mast walking stunt that Alex did that grabbed my attention to this class of boat and the global races. thank you Alex, for the world you opened up for me. game changer.
Good looking vessel and crew
👍 see you next week
Looking fw to it!
Brilliant! All the best for Xmas and the New Year!
Oh yeah, I'm so ready. :)
Nice treat to see another SeaWolves video, which I saved until borreltijd this Saturday. You see, I prefer other drinks over coffee😉
lekker! :)
Thanks for taking the time to put together this informative video brilliant 👏....some amazing large picture you have in the room with you are you also an artist? ...Thanks once again
I was so stoked to see Alex again on his boat. Not sure about his chances as it seems there’s a lot of luck involved but for me the boat is the rock star. So brutally on the edge of everything, if not overpowered, Hugo Boss’s journey will be one hell of a ride . Alex’s family however can sleep at night again 😂
Perhaps I was not paying enough attention after Alex's withdrawal from the race, but I never learned if it was determined that the problem resulting in the failure was related to a design problem or a manufacturing/construction defect? Can you illuminate me? Thank you.
was a design flaw
Oh my, great to see you again! Can't wait until the next VG! We had planned to be in France for the last one but for Covid... Merry Christmas :)
Yes me 2! years should be enough time to get to workable :)
The VR regatta is this in MarineVerse Cup on oculus quest2?
Fantastic.. your depth details and analysis, which can not be found anywhere,is so appreciated .
On a completely different subject, Is that primate painting in the background done by the American artist Sue Buck? Stunning Work....
Thanks Again
The one to my right, is of one of the primates from Jane Goodall's research group, painted by Gerd Bannuscher: kroongallery.com/product/gerd-bannuscher-eine-ahnung-von-der-art-zu-sein/
@@SeawolvesTV thank you ...keep up the great work, I know it's a tremendous amount of work to provide the high end content, graphics and editing.
Merry Christmas from the Chesapeake Bay
In the IDEC clip there was a nice carbon bike seen. Was it around the world too? If so it's the fast round the world bike too
I’d love to hear more about Armel Tripon and if he’s doing it again. I think I saw that L’occitane was sold. Is he getting a new boat? I hope so I like that guy.
Building a new one! very cool one
I still felt bad for Alex seeing him again showing around the damage in the Boss hull and so early in the race.
Vendee Globe without Alex is not Vendee Globe
Loved last year and looking forward to this season - Please get a real camera 1080p and your audio is awful - Only saying because your well worth watching !
in 4K my imperfections will show too much :P
I believe Alex's last very costly project failed at all due to structural problems of the boat, so needs to restart with a new background, sponsors and boat which takes time so needs to be out for a while...🥲
I was thinking similarly. With all that damage suffered from the last attempt would he (or anyone) be confident enough with this boat's seaworthiness to race another VG? Even with the best repair job, I know it would always be in the back of my mind.
I miss Alex and his boat so much in any ocean race
I spotted HB for sale on yachtworld recently, POA. I'm probably going to get shot down for this but to be honest what galled me about the whole thing was a. the arrogant assumption from the word go that the race win was theirs by right, and b. the total radio silence when problems emerged and eventual retirement resulted. Their fans, sponsors and race fans in general deserved more. Just imv.
@@sheadford agree, there was great optimism for a win from the outset. I would love to know why there were fundamental structural failures when so much technology exists to protect against such happenings.
In all particularity, Alix’s very close relationship to the design and build of this latest boat has damaged his creditability for securing a new sponsored project. This last boat was a structural disaster. The seriously under designed major longitudinal with multiple failures was a red flag, not to mention losing the keel a year earlier.
So absurdly high-tech. Where is the challenge, where is the poetry?
