Minimal D&B: Mid Bass Growls in Serum [5 Steps]
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 бер 2020
- I show you simple steps on how to make mid bass growls found on many minimal neuro drum & bass tracks by artists such as Skeptical, Alix Perez, Enei and Break. The V-Shaped Mid Bass Growl was one of the first mid bass sounds I learned how to make. Back then I did it on the Virus B hardware synth. I show you how to make it in Serum as well as adding FX to make the growl come alive.

Your videos are exactly what I've been looking for. Love these old bass lines and then you add a modern twist to some. Sick channel mate.
Very nice, the use of the envelope was an eye opener for me, pure DNB, science right here, thank you🇬🇧Be safe🌻
Cheers Keety, yes you can get more wild results using the LFO as an envelope!
These tutorials are fucking sick m8, no bs straight to the BASS
Thanks bro, I'm trying my best, there's a lot of competition out there, so I'm glad you like!

You are a great teacher dude. And that's coming from a highschool physics teacher. Well done.
You know when someone makes a music production tutorial uploads it. You get a small taster of what its about and the sounds being made. Now you wanna hit your studio again. Well for me. This is one of them - Nice one !
This is the most concise, easy to follow video on how to achieve this type of sound I have seen yet................. and I have been watching the making of "Growl basses" videos for like 20 years now LOL.......................................... Well done STRANJAH, this is exactly what I have been looking for .. You are a Champ !
Bro i love your videos! Helps me a lot! THNX!
Sweet, I liked your crafty reuse of the patch using the LFO and octave shift at the end.

So sick!
Thank you!
@@STRANJAH keep it up man! More dnb plz!
Here is a tip, instead of unison use the same wave table in both osc a & b and just pan left & right. Then turn the rand to 0. Now you have much more control of the phase instead of using rand.
Amazing, simple and directly. Thanks man!
cheers Miguel!
Soooo thankful. Bless.
Nailed!
Excellent and simple! Bug ups Stranjah!
Respects and love to the crew at Skalator hope you guys are doing okay during this time.
this one is def one of the most eye openers for me! Thanks!
If people are telling you " It needs more Mids " This is what they are talkin bout. Ha!
Pretty cool and neat sound Bob. Thanks for sharing!
Your welcome Harry!
@STRANJAH Great work dude! This is by far one of the most clear cut and eye-openingly widely applicable/translatable bass sound design videos I’ve ever seen, because basically changing the wavetable and playing with the rest of the same processing can basically lead you most of the way to almost any other/countless other pro sounding bass sounds, in terms of what makes up the bulk of the sound, generally speaking of course. Like this is format of bass design is incredibly flexible & I really appreciate it haha.
If you take requests I would be curious what you would do on a video on making saw-growls with live’s vocoder and the triple OTT trick///or making basses out of plain sine waves and making it come to life all with post-synth wave shaping distortion + that vocoder & triple OTT and a few other stock effects inside a parallel process rack w/a empty chain so that the sine stays perfectly in tact with everything & it eliminates the headeach of trying to match up the sub’s pitch with any LFOs/pitch bending. Basically if you put the vocoder & other stuff before the triple OTT all sorts of magic can happen haha.
Very interested to see if/how you digest this and approach this format of bass design!
Mate, thank you so much, greatly explained, I literaly just understood how this bass design works,, BIG UP, GREAT CHANEL

Bro I just found you from an article that was chastising you for sharing these secrets. Whoever wrote it was deeply resentful, like the worst gatekeeping byatch ever. This is prime content & you're the goat for sharing thank you. However I don't have serum is there any chance you could explain how to recreate with lpx stock plugins please?
