I have been living in different countries for 30 years. I lived in Malmo for eight years, and I have never encountered such unhappy people in my entire lifetime.
Thank you for sharing. I might have come across similar statements or research, but why would you say is that? What seems to be the cause of that unhappiness in your opinion?
I call that BS ! I live and grew up in Malmö. It’s just that swedish people can come a cross as introverts and closed up. But as soon as you engage…We are Very friendly and helpful. So I call this statement BS !
The crime and demographic situation of the city is very sad. Native Scandinavians are the minority in Malmo. Crime is rampant in certain districts of the city.

Where you can find cheap or free accommodation ?
I found an accommodation in Malmö using Airbnb, that was the most affordable option at the time. You can try also couchsurfing which often offers free accommodation as well. Besides these two, you can find options using Booking.con or Trivago. :)

@@mat-qt4fq I am talking from my personal experience as I have been invited many times to stay for free. People want to hang around and meet other travelers from all around the globe, not everyone is in it for the money.
