    Great advice! I hear too many Veterans say, “I won’t qualify for disability,” when in reality many qualify for at least 10%-20%. What so many don’t understand is disabilities are not only visible wounds as you mentioned. Sleep apnea is very common among Veterans. And 10% is all you need to qualify for Vocational Rehabilitation (VocRehab); that’s additional money for college in addition to the GI Bill. Plus, a spouse can go to school on VocRehab (Chapter 31) 👍
    Note: I didn’t file for my disability while in the Reserves, because leadership stated I could not serve, receiving drill pay, and disability pay. This is FALSE!

      That is so true. I will have to look into vocrehab myself I didn’t know my spouse could use it. Thank you for the info!
      Yes I was told you can receive disability and be in the reserves. You just can not double dip.

    Yeah fortunately I was medical retired, but I should've got checked for sleep apnea. It is so crazy that dverything is digital, but they need us to hold on to our physical copies of everything. This was a good idea. I'm glad you a resource. I didn't know I still had to request my post 9/11 before I joined. Also summer isn't normally covered. The people who tell us we shouldn't file unemployment will act surprised when some of us go homeless. I don't worry bout them haters.

    Hey Dave, I’m shipping out June 29 as a RS which was previously called a SH. I was wondering if the quality of life is a bit better than a lot of rates in the navy. Like 15 hours days ? No lunches ? No breaks? I figure you would have good insight on a rate like RS because their apparently in the same division as a CS.

    • @theofficialdaveharris8794
      @theofficialdaveharris8794  3 роки тому +4

      Man your in luck RS is the easiest rate in supply division, maybe in The navy. Probably the hardest part about you job is receiving stores to restock your stores. But you still get hour lunch breaks and everything.

    • @jamalritchie7148
      @jamalritchie7148 3 роки тому +2

      You’ll be in Mississippi for A-School, make sure you hydrate b/c it’ll be hot af especially this time of year. The staff there is pretty chill, just pay attention and try to shine your boots well, as a RS youre not necessarily doing too much manual labor so there’s no reason your uniform shouldn’t be squared away, at least thats how they look at it in MS. Getting to the fleet as a RS shouldn’t be too hard, as long as your direct chain of command is somewhat chill, your job will be super calm. The RS’ on my ship are able to relax a bit and sometimes even sleep throughout the day when the store is closed and there isn’t an order coming in. Good Luck in basic.
