I just put a Kenwood in my '04. Mine had the same OEM stereo as yours, and I gotta have my Bluetooth and USB. It is SO nice to have a vehicle with a stereo that *isn't* integrated into all of the other electronic systems.
Great explanation. Thank you. I have a 2002 Tacoma as well and my radio just died. Checked all the fuses. Not that. Don't want anything fancy, just my radio back. Will likely go the same route as you.
Thanks for the video. Everything works, but my radio doesn’t turn off with ignition. If I forget to manually turn off it drains my battery. Do you know the problem?
I just went to a car stereo store and even for one of the cheapest stereos they had it would be close to 500 dollars for them to put it in. I’m gonna go to Walmart and get one. I’ll put it in myself.
Update I went to O’Reillys and got everything I needed. Put the wiring together in the house and perty much just plugged the rest in the truck. It’s not hard to do. Now I rock and roll 🎸

Yeah, I'm not happy with how many are done today. Makes them more expensive
Thank u so much for this video! I just did the exact same thing to my 01Tacoma. Your video helped a bunch!
I'm glad to have helped

You didn't connect the harness adapter correctly
I Have the same truck what harness and dash kit and radio did you get specifically
I can't remember the exact kit but I linked it in the description I think.

Is there a way to play your own music with just a 120W MAX while keeping the stereo
It is a Bluetooth unit
