I totally get what you mean about camera perspectives; I've stayed away from whole genres of game simply because I couldn't get past how the camera was positioned, and often I've only gotten into said new genres of games specifically because one really really good game convinced me to get over it and play it and got me hooked (which I suppose is what Helldivers 2 has done for you!)
I’m the same way. I’ve had the Witcher 3 recommended to me a trillion times but the camera position kills me. I like two third person perspectives in games. Either over the shoulder Resident Evil style, or zoomed out far enough to see me whole character. If it’s somewhere in the middle of those two it kills me. I realize the Witcher’s camera zooms out in combat but when you’re exploring around and Geralt is right in the middle of the screen it bugs me. Helldivers perspective looks fine. Zoomed out until you aim then it goes over the shoulder.
"If you aren't careful, you can grow yourself out of business." Hooh boy , story time. Nobody's going to notice this comment on a month-old habie video, but this reminded me of something in my childhood. If you lived in Southern/Midwestern Idaho about 20 years ago, there was a small department store called Kings. They sold various items locally as a chain in a few areas in the state, but for me my favorite part was that their stores always had a basement that was a combination hobby and toy aisle, where they sold various models, toy vehicles, trains, collectible items, you name it they probably had something like it there. It was one of my favorite places to go as a little kid whenever my folks were looking to get some tools or something for around the farm. They were also very successful - successful enough that they decided to branch out and spread their business. Which they did. Which bankrupted them. Apparently they were doing well enough that they needed to expand to match customer demand, but hit that sweet spot where they expanded and suddenly overextended their ability to cater to their customers (or at least something along those lines). Long and the short, within a few years after attempting that expand they went out of business. The last King's building got torn down about a decade or so ago and the lot is still barren and empty down the highway in a small town called Payette, and it has left a void in my childhood soul that will never be filled again. Yeah, so, that was storytime with Kerian, hope you liked it.
Love the fact that one of this games best mechanics/features is so similar to the old community wide challenges games used to do (more frequently at least). For example, if people remember the challenger for BO3 where however many million kills or whatever had to be reached by the community in total, giving free weapon crates.
It really is one of the best games ive ever played. The fact I can jump into a game and TALK to people and just shoot stuff and everything just works is amazing lol
Honestly? At least the first movie just doesn't quite commit to the bit. I genuinely thing Helldivers does what SST (movies and related) were trying to do but better. Both are pretty different from the book, but that's just media in general.
I mean to be fair, as someone who was there, the discord was WILD. Aside from the F’s, someone mentioned a possible pride flag cape! Needless to say many bans followed as some of the audience expressed their “distaste” with the idea.
Spoke with one of the mods. A lot of the people demanding pride flags were getting banned for racial slurs and grooming. Those people then went on to Steam to complain...and I notice those players got the (banned) tag next to their name. This community has gotten real weird.
Banning people because they have fun and meme around on a discord server is perfect to alienate your community to leave so i'll leave a F to fallen discord members
It's so crazy how much fun a game can be. I always thought that the glory days were behind and we'd be left with mediocre games for a few years. I can't believe how much fun this game is, it's so simple yet so elegant, and I can't stop playing, and I can't wait to see what's in store for the future. Single Handley reviving video games for cheap too is the best thing that's ever happened, thank you!
The server issue seems to be mostly solved now since they increased their server capacity to 700k and implemented idle kick. Hopefully this weekend doesn't screw their servers and Arrowhead keeps on improving it.
Helldivers 2 was built using a discontinued game engine called Autodesk Stingray. The same engine used for the original Helldivers launched on the PS3 in 2015.
It’s Saturday, I’m in the UK and only started playing Helldivers today. Not had any problems finding a game (On PS5) and only experienced one toxic player so far, who was happily killing me also happily wasting lives to respawn me again just to kill me, then when I shot him back I got kicked. So apart from that one idiot the game has been amazing fun and very enjoyable.
i saw a youtube channel created about the lore of helldivers 2 and a short talking about a battle called "the masacre of malevelon creek" talking about how people were outnumbered, if you didnt have armour piercing you were doomed, etc. i find it crazy that theres already stuff documenting it as if its star wars lore or something
ive never thoughts of a hub-like openworld and extraction element would blend well in a co-op horde shooter, which brought a whole new levels of gameplay replayability on top of the AI Director. i mean the genre has been linear all along, until HD2 came that lets you tackle task in your own volition so its finite authentic experience each gameplay loop. the game also being a liveservice game doesn't felt like it with how generous and accessible the SC is, and the character progression felt like im casually grinding WWZ and DRG
It's funny because I've rarely had the server capacity issue since, as an australian, my peak play time (5pm-12am) is like 1am-8am US time, so I, and other aussies rarely ever play when servers are at capacity.

Just like what Baldur's Gate 3 did. It's proving to the world what a game with actual drive, and talent, and passion behind it can achieve
I’m so addicted to this game
I have 99.6 hours, Page 10 unlocked and I'm level 50
Yeah, This game is addicting.

I haven't been stuck in a que since the cap was out to 700k last patch, had some crazy firefights on Draupnir tonight. The way you can join randoms and then learn to work together is a very unique experience.
Good news, severs (should) be fixed now from yesterday’s update
The update actually included an idle kick timer. Which I believe is the main reason why majority of the server problem is fixed.
that is one of the big contributors, they also raised the server cap to 700,000 which helps a ton@@rynodragon2316
It really is one of the best games ive ever played. The fact I can jump into a game and TALK to people and just shoot stuff and everything just works is amazing lol
Seeing this game explode showed me how little people know what starship troopers is
Honestly? At least the first movie just doesn't quite commit to the bit. I genuinely thing Helldivers does what SST (movies and related) were trying to do but better. Both are pretty different from the book, but that's just media in general.
@@kennator64yeah im ngl the movie feels like it takes itself a bit too seriously for what it is

im so glad habie covered the discord insanity, i was there during it and saw the entire server locking down, it was INSANE
@@Lightscribe225Well yeah, they're groomers. That's what they do.
Getting hated while the game just maxes out on players has the same energy of being called hacker for being good in a game
This is literally starship troopers reskinned and I’m so glad people are loving it. Starship troopers was such a good read and movie.
The planets in Helldivers is everything we wanted from Starfield
Damn only 3k views? Habie fell off
"It IS beautiful... Can't wait to Liberate it"
Banning people because they have fun and meme around on a discord server is perfect to alienate your community to leave so i'll leave a F to fallen discord members
The fact that you are also fighting this war with us makes me so happy
The bots took Malevelon and then removed Habie from the algorithm before he could convince us to join the fight.
0:24 thats actually a real economic process called "Diseconomies of scale" i would like to thank my Microecon class of this information
Fly high Habie, we will miss you, I wish to thank you for making this video before the event. 😔

"Thats all I did this week. Play Helldivers and wait to play Helldivers" - I never felt so connected to a comment
The server issue seems to be mostly solved now since they increased their server capacity to 700k and implemented idle kick. Hopefully this weekend doesn't screw their servers and Arrowhead keeps on improving it.
I was passively listening to the end sequence with all of the -- let's say "sound effects" and it summoned one from deep within myself.
“This is beauuuuuutiful… Wooooow 😊”
“Time to liberate it 🗿”
Servers are back up, they upped the max cap to 700k so its like 75% more stable
Just played this last night with the boys
Everyone loves this game for how nostalgia that it brings to the old, good days of gaming.
Love the content and the humor, brother. Subbed. God bless.
What a wholesome ending message. Need more of this.
I love that this game makes the "wars" real it adds a whole new level to the immersion.
This idea of everyone playing the game all working together for a common goal is actually a REALLY cool game mechanic.
UA-cam hasn't given me vids from you in 9 months. I'm glad to start a habie marathon on a late thanksgiving evening. Hope you're well!!!
just a head up the server issue was fixed 2 days ago the bumped After the size up to 700000 and you can log on when ever
Helldivers 2 was built using a discontinued game engine called Autodesk Stingray. The same engine used for the original Helldivers launched on the PS3 in 2015.
“Dying on a distant planet killing godless aliens is the American dream”
_YES_
It’s Saturday, I’m in the UK and only started playing Helldivers today.
Not had any problems finding a game (On PS5) and only experienced one toxic player so far, who was happily killing me also happily wasting lives to respawn me again just to kill me, then when I shot him back I got kicked. So apart from that one idiot the game has been amazing fun and very enjoyable.
Have a blast while it lasts.
"it's beautiful. Can't wait to liberate it."
In their defense, Helldiver 1 peak player count was 6,744. We are their endless hoard.
Forgot it was Saturday, thanks for reminding me habie
The pitch meeting for this game was just, "All right every one. We need a great game."
“Why do we let bots run our lives?”

There is nothing more horrifying as a discord mod than seeing '...Several people are typing...' glued to the bottom of your screen permanently.
I’m glad they added an afk kick detector
i saw a youtube channel created about the lore of helldivers 2 and a short talking about a battle called "the masacre of malevelon creek" talking about how people were outnumbered, if you didnt have armour piercing you were doomed, etc. i find it crazy that theres already stuff documenting it as if its star wars lore or something

what is the song called at 6:58, i know its from a rely good flach game but dont rememder it
Not only does it causes server fires, it also causes my computer to crash! DEMOCRACY!!
ive never thoughts of a hub-like openworld and extraction element would blend well in a co-op horde shooter, which brought a whole new levels of gameplay replayability on top of the AI Director. i mean the genre has been linear all along, until HD2 came that lets you tackle task in your own volition so its finite authentic experience each gameplay loop.
the game also being a liveservice game doesn't felt like it with how generous and accessible the SC is, and the character progression felt like im casually grinding WWZ and DRG
Ombudsman of Family Values is objectively the best ship name
Helldivers 2 is about to be the most effective military recruitment campaign the US has ever seen.
It's funny because I've rarely had the server capacity issue since, as an australian, my peak play time (5pm-12am) is like 1am-8am US time, so I, and other aussies rarely ever play when servers are at capacity.

Super Earth recommends spending at least 2.4 seconds per mission enjoying the scenery. A happy Helldiver is a deadly Helldiver.

A shock wave explosion from a facility blew me between 2 mines. Thankfully I got out unscathed…then got blown up when I walked into another mine…I love this game. FOR DEMOCRACY!!!!!
They've been swinging in the low 400ks for about two days now. Server stability, entry, and responsiveness has all been really good. Some minor issues with ping but it's stabilized a lot. I wish matchmaking was cleaned up a bit (it can be difficult to join a missions at times or to start a mission solo/with one or two friends and still end up with a random)
