The Chigg
Since you and Rob discovered this cave, where you able to name it? It’s so beautiful, just loaded with formations and, I hope, other than the land owner and the state, it is kept secret and protected. Thank you for such a special adventure.
Lots of water and basic material for the formations to grow. IMO, we got to see it at its greatest. As water erodes it, might be tomorrow, might be in a thousand years, but it will eventually collapse. It's difficult to say from the camera alone, but it's kinda shaped like this /U\ and that belly will eventually collapse. A part of it already did, Beau was sitting on it. It's a gorgeous little cave, indeed.
So for those wondering, the total average growth rate for speleotherms is 0.13 mm per year. But, that can vary drastically based on the amount of water and the surrounding rock types. This can vary by year. More water = more growth. Edit: thanks for treasuring and being so conscientious about the delecate cave treasures, as always!
Thank you Chigg, who knows this might be the first time someone got to see this and thanks to you, you made it possible! Love those blacklight's, a beautiful whole knew world exist under there! God Bless, (Glen) WV.
I'm claustrophobic, so watching you go caving is hard. But I do it, and I think it's helping me. I can always pause the video and come back to it when I'm ready, and that's the key, I think. Confronting my fear in a methodical way that's totally safe for me. Just make sure you stay safe too!
I sure hope you tell someone where you're going when you crawl into these holes in the ground alone! OK, that being said, thanks for sharing this experience with us. It was awesome down there!
Yes Chigg I like your cave videos! Keep them coming, also I hope you are keeping these cave locations a closely guarded secret because there are to many jackasses that will go in and destroy these places!
Chiggs, that is breathtaking. Like another world beneath the earth hiding its beauty. You are nuts for going down there alone, but we would never know that existed had you not gone down. Loved the flashlight on your face. And the UV light. You are so fun and so knowledgeable. Keep having fun.
I am not a geologist, but have a minor in it. I seem to recall depending on conditions radiometric dating indicated about 3-4" every 1000 years for stalactites on average.
Wow! I can see how you get down but how do you get back out?!! I love how beautiful and mysterious it is! But no way could I do that too tight spaces make me panick. Thnx for sharing this I learned a lot
I was JUST telling someone about when you found this cave! The drilling, the explosives, the excitement! So cool you're taking us back with you on this one.
Such a BEAUTIFUL little cavern! Those are some of the most exquisite formations I have seen in a cave of it's size. Thanks for taking us along, AND, for going to the trouble of opening this cave up so that we all can share in it's beauty.
Glad you revisited this cave I obviously missed the first time around but that is very very cool I could stare and examine those formations for weeks and never get bored thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻
I've really missed your caving videos, that's actually what introduced me to your channel. I came for the caves but stayed for the personality of the Chig haha. Absolutely love all of the content!
Chigg, you're the best! Thanks so much for taking us back down there. I love your love for such beauty and adventure. Plus you are such a goofball. P.S. Don't ever get too old.
Awesome little cave adventure chigg. An the pics were amazing as well. What an awesome adventure chigg. Catch ya on your next outing. Have a great week my friend. 😁👍👍
Thank you for rescuing the toad, I love how you care about animals. Bless you. Thank you too for another fascinating look under ground, I'd never be able to go caving as I hate small spaces but I love seeing what it's like under our feet. Look forward to more. From Sharon on Sam's device x
UV light shots !!! lol lol. But the colors! purple!!! as if the tites were made of amethyst! and all the pastels! Mother Earth may have no sympathy, but she never ceases to amaze. THESE were some secrets ! Thank you
I really wish you did more cave explorations, you are so thorough in explaining how the caves are formed, what the decorations are called and the whole story regarding the caves and how you had to dig your way in. Keep up the great work!
So interesting to see all the formations and special effects using coloured light. I do love seeing caves and so interesting to see whats in them etc. this one especially. Thanks for sharing!
It is hard to say, as the growth rates of cave formations vary by how "wet" the caves are. This can also vary year to year. In addition, why some caves have solid doors at the enterance is to prevent them from "drying out".
This cave is beautiful. The colors and formations are incredible.I watched this at midnight. After you filmed your scary face you made me laugh but now I go to bed and hope no nightmares. Lol. Thankyou for sharing this . I loved it.
Wow! what an awesome little cave! Yes cave and bridge stalactites are similar but the formation chemistry is different. In cave formations Co2 is released in the process but in the type you see under bridges, called calthemite, exposure to Co2 in the air facilitates the reaction. Cave formations do take a long time to form, but some calthemite formations can grow as much as 2 mm per day!
Awesome cave chigg!!!!no doubt one of the best cave vids you have posted and very enjoyable 💯💯💯happy adventures old buddy and thanks again for the years of content....
Amazing video; how you get the nerve to squeeze into a gap you may not get out is beyond me; don’t blame Rob for not repeating…thks for the footage though; so beautiful 👍🏻😀
Wow! Thanks Beau!👍 The UV light was just amazing! it's hard to see the same visual compared to being there. but if you've been in limestone caves they pretty stark when it comes to color. The UV took caving to another videography level.
Who can forget the Slit Cave and Chiggers Little Helpers ! ! Slit Cave is beautiful 😍 Thanks for for revisiting . Made my day . But omg Roadkill Cave was epic in it's own way too . Soo much water . You never find quite get round that watery corner in Roadkill ! ?
I seem to remember the first time I saw your channel, you going down a mystery hole (most likely this very one!) Yeah I still don't see the attraction myself but I do appreciate your wonderful and undying sense of adventure, showing this amazing place and making me want a bacon sandwich slathered with brown sauce and dripping with butter...this is probably why I don't go down holes because I know I wouldn't fit!🤣🤣
How about a little caving today? I hope you like the video.

Happy memorial Day 🙂
You are the Bob Ross of exploring ❤️
And I love it
Since you and Rob discovered this cave, where you able to name it? It’s so beautiful, just loaded with formations and, I hope, other than the land owner and the state, it is kept secret and protected. Thank you for such a special adventure.
It may be a small cave, but it packs a big punch! So gorgeous!
Lots of water and basic material for the formations to grow. IMO, we got to see it at its greatest. Loved the formations. A beautiful little cave. Thanks Chigg, PS. The light was crazy , I've never seen you with green teeth 😂
I'm claustrophobic, so watching you go caving is hard. But I do it, and I think it's helping me. I can always pause the video and come back to it when I'm ready, and that's the key, I think. Confronting my fear in a methodical way that's totally safe for me. Just make sure you stay safe too!
I feel for you I'm acrophobia and I freak out just watching a video 😣
My sister is claustrophobic but it's getting better now that she joined MMA.
Same here!
God bless Beau for loving to do this, because I could NEVER go in those tight spaces like that!
Incredible! It's absolutely mind-blowing to me that there's places this beautiful out there still waiting to be discovered!
I sure hope you tell someone where you're going when you crawl into these holes in the ground alone!
OK, that being said, thanks for sharing this experience with us. It was awesome down there!
That sounds like good advice for anyone spellunking down in the ground....like being in an MRI machine thats too small.......😉
I think he tells his wife and she knows how long before she needs to be worried.
Duuude, what an awesome Cave. Absolutely beautiful, thanks for sharing this adventure with us. 👍 Take care.
Poor old mr toad did a little headstand when he landed. Haha!
Yes Chigg I like your cave videos! Keep them coming, also I hope you are keeping these cave locations a closely guarded secret because there are to many jackasses that will go in and destroy these places!
i love your cave videos, they actually inspired me to get into caving. i actually just did today!
Chiggs, that is breathtaking. Like another world beneath the earth hiding its beauty. You are nuts for going down there alone, but we would never know that existed had you not gone down. Loved the flashlight on your face. And the UV light. You are so fun and so knowledgeable. Keep having fun.
Would love to hear some geologist chime in on age estimates for some of these structures.
Thanks for sharing Chigg!
I am not a geologist, but have a minor in it. I seem to recall depending on conditions radiometric dating indicated about 3-4" every 1000 years for stalactites on average.
@@jagzilla1398 cool, thanx mate.
Wow! I can see how you get down but how do you get back out?!! I love how beautiful and mysterious it is! But no way could I do that too tight spaces make me panick. Thnx for sharing this I learned a lot
Well he hasn't uploaded in 4 days so maybe he's stuck down there 🤣
I was JUST telling someone about when you found this cave! The drilling, the explosives, the excitement! So cool you're taking us back with you on this one.
Seems like yesterday...wow time flies!!
I wanna watch that! What's the video?
These are the non-anxiety inducing caving videos I love! Thanks for the adventure!
I've learned about stalactite's and stalagmite's from the carlsbad caverns. one hangs tight to the ceiling and the other might make it to the ceiling.
Well said! There is no such thing as a stalagtite ☺
Such a BEAUTIFUL little cavern!
Those are some of the most exquisite formations I have seen in a cave of it's size.
Thanks for taking us along, AND, for going to the trouble of opening this cave up so that we all can share in it's beauty.
Oh yaaa, I love spelunking...I must be a special type too..LOL
I learnt it this way. Stalactites hang on tight to the ceiling. Stalagmites use all their might to reach the ceiling.
Very, very interesting.
I like that cave that has like a lady looking sculpture in in it you and your wife went in when in. This is a cool 1 awesome thanks for showing us
At 14:58 there is a crazy formation over your right shoulder. Looks like a fossil...
Glad you revisited this cave I obviously missed the first time around but that is very very cool I could stare and examine those formations for weeks and never get bored thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻
You should come check out some of the caves in Australia some time, the endless tunnels within black mountain are certainly wild.
I've really missed your caving videos, that's actually what introduced me to your channel. I came for the caves but stayed for the personality of the Chig haha. Absolutely love all of the content!
So neat to see the nature below us! Seeing a small cave like this is fascinating. Thanks so much.
Chigg, you're the best! Thanks so much for taking us back down there. I love your love for such beauty and adventure. Plus you are such a goofball. P.S. Don't ever get too old.

I've been watching all kinds of videos about caving disasters lately! You'd never see me down one of them.
UV light shots !!! lol lol. But the colors! purple!!! as if the tites were made of amethyst! and all the pastels! Mother Earth may have no sympathy, but she never ceases to amaze. THESE were some secrets ! Thank you
Remember when you opened this cave up. Thanks for the repeat visit. Beautiful indeed
I really wish you did more cave explorations, you are so thorough in explaining how the caves are formed, what the decorations are called and the whole story regarding the caves and how you had to dig your way in. Keep up the great work!

Check my channel for a cave that I found in the Ozarks. The land here is beautiful and full of surprises!
I lived in the Ozarks in my youth. My Grandma's farm was 167 acres and she claimed there were caves on the land, but couldn't find one.

Wow! Thanks Beau!👍 The UV light was just amazing! it's hard to see the same visual compared to being there.

I believe this is the cave digout that I discovered your channel from a few years back, Chigg! Awesome to see it once again! Stay awesome!
Eerily transcendental beautiful!
I agree about the age of the stelagtites. Also I think rocks can form in just a few hundred years depending on the soil.
Wowh chigg what a cave 👍👍
