Jimmy, this video is a gem. I watched it once, went down to the range to practise, watched it again and then tried out the 'low and slow' technique in a game. Magic. I scored lots of pars and bogeys (with the occasional double bogey but nothing worse) which is good for a 21-handicapper country club hacker like me. Plenty of shots coming sweetly out of the middle of the clubface, just as you say in the film. Been playing golf since 1963 and have never come across such simple and effective advice. Many thanks from Paul Mason in Pembury, near Tunbridge Wells in South East England.
Out of everyone on UA-cam, you're the only one whose advice I've understood and been able to use. Thanks to that, I finally broke 100, with my new personal best being 95!

Hello Jimmy, this is the first time I've watched your video and I love it! I’m 50+ and one of those people who can't swing far, and the more power I put into it, the worse it gets. Recently, I tried swinging low and slow, and strangely enough, I can control my distance and direction much better. Then I saw your video! I’m so happy to know I’m not the only one, haha! From now on, I’ll be a loyal viewer. Here’s to Jimmy, my new idol!
Jimmy this is my first time to watch your video. I can testify that slow back swing works. I'm 70 never broke high 90 now I'm regular hitting mid 80 went from 26 hc to 18. I been using g this technique and it work. Finally could never hit my rescue woods until I slowed down to low and slow. Folks it works.
Thanks Jimmy for everything. Every time I go a little "off "on the course - - I remind myself of JIMMY TROPICANA swing - - easy and smooth. I am 72, a subscriber, and having WAY more fun with golf watching your lessons. They really work!! Thanks much - - and yes, sorry for the loss of your equipment during a quick breakfast from your car. Hard to understand why someone would do that. Glad you are back on your feet and helping ALL of us to play better - - and more golf!! Rick Polkinghorn
Jimmy. You are the best instructor. I've watched thousands of videos from others and never help me... but the way you do your videos are very simple and easy to follow... 👍👍👍👍
Used your "Low and Slow" method this weekend. Results: 1. Slice turned into fade 2. Consistent ball striking and hitting the sweet spot more. 3. Gained 5 yrds on each club. Thanks tropicana
Jimmy, I’m 73 and watch only your videos. Slow and low is my new battle cry! Helped me out tremendously! Thank you! Now off to order your 69 degree wedge! I’m all in!
Great way to end a video! This is honestly the best golf video I seen. I honestly rush my swings and always try to "Kill" the ball lol. Sometimes it works but most times it doesn't. Im going to work on slowing things down for the rest of year.
Jimmy thank you for making this game make sense. Just started playing 2 years ago and have been down with Tropicana Golf since day 1 !! I LOVE THIS GAME !!!
Fantastic Video! I wish I could start off a round with this approach - it always seems to take 4-5 holes of my brain trying to swing for the fences until I'm able to slow it down and relax. Your instruction is awesome, and your hair is perfect! Next video throw in some tips on hair products LOL Thanks Jimmy, you da man!
haha. hair tips are next. thank you for watching and for the support. I have I have your support with the new TROPICANA golf balls I just launched. I hadn't played for a couple of months so asked the Pro for a tip, he said, 'swing slow and watch the ball go.' l enjoyed a good game of golf. Thanks Jimmy fora great lesson.
Jimmy, you have helped my game significantly. The simple movements that I have learned from your videos have not only helped me be more accurate, but I’m flushing the ball now. I’ve been able to know my club distances and trust them. I feel like I can actually play golf vs just hitting a ball. Thx for all the help.
Great video great instructor am 72 been playing on and off my whole life usually hit low to mid 90s, played yesterday focusing on Low and Slow, Swing the V, follow putter head to the hole and the countdown. I shot 82 and this is my new golf swing and I love it. Thank you so much Jimmy!!!! Oh you were right my buddies said hey what the heck happened to him he is way improved. I promote you to them and they say who? but now they know.
I have been striking golf balls, since 1969. Low and slow is ideal. Pause at the top, totaly unweigt your left side, keep on your right side at transition and slam the unweighted left side down at P5, not P4, in order to stop yourself, from falling over !!!! What an easy little game 😅
Will definitely take this advice on...love the need to sometimes reflect and especially for an older golfer, who has only been playing for just one a year and now a 24 handicapper, the desire to simplify my game and understand how to manage the course, your advice is great!!
“low and slow” also promotes torso rotation rather than arm rotation, which is so important when learning to hit the ball squarely and straight rather than a slice. That rotation really sets up a nice inside out club path.
Hi Jimmy, thanks for this. This is what I need i'm sure. Just watching your videos has calmed me down, especially with the countdown on each shot. I'm extremely tall and struggle as a new golfer in my late 50's but i'm sure this is going to help me, thank you 👍🇬🇧
Like @dmerkin said below. I too was sent here by the algorithm, never heard of Jimmy either but am I glad you appeared. So relaxing watching you and listening to you. Can not wait till I get out again in a couple of days. Thank's Jimmy.
Very good presentation. I enjoyed it very much. Your golfing style fits me (I’m 69 years old) much better than the way I’ve attempted to play in the past. Thanks for the video!

I come from a baseball background and have only recently picked up golf. I was constantly trying to hit a home run with poor results, but slowing it down and smoothing it out was the best advice I've ever received for my golf game. silky smooth is always better when it comes to golf.

I am a scientist and I think you are excellent. You explain on point, the essentials. I admire that you live what you teach. Your kind of relaxation shows your level of professionalism. it is a matter of mindset and attitude. Low and slow seems to me one the great secrets of Golf. Thank you very much. High-level. Gerd😊
love it, thanks for great video, love the no nonsense no BS or scientific jargon, you make golf like it should be , to be enjoyed greetings from South West Ireland
Just got back from vacation…getting to be a long time fan (like 9 months) using ping zing 2 irons from 1984 (2 iron thru lob wedge) and like you say I’ve slowed everything down and having a lot more enjoyable rounds. Just a driver and irons and hitting to the front of greens seems a lot more simpler and less stressful. I’m in San Francisco and next time I’m in SoCal I’ll pop in and do some camera work, since Manolo ain’t helping…LoL You’ve helped a lot of golfers and we appreciate you. Thanks KC
Hi Jimmy, I've been playing golf for a long time now and needless to say, I haven't been able to put my swing together. I just am not able to hit the ball straight - until now, after I watched your clip ( clips). I'm playing much much better golf in the last week or so. Enthusiasm has increased many fold. Thank you and stay blessed 🙏
I constantly get too quick and my swing falls apart. I start trying to muscle it to get my distance back up to compensate for poor contact, you can imagine how that goes. In an effort to get over the yips, I started trying to slow it down. I came across this video and seeing the tempo of the low and slow just clicked. Went out back and hit 20 shots, all were within 6y from center (Garmin R10). My "normal" distance wasn't there right away, but losing 15y is worth being able to flush the ball in the middle. Keep up the great work, this was amazing.
Some of the best advice iv seen , as a 8hcp my worst shots are over swinging. low and slow works but you have to do it the whole round that’s the hard part. Cheers
New to golf, I adopted your ball at the back of my stance approach a few months back and it changed my game. Compressing the ball, pretty accurate, controllable fade/draw etc. Question is, WHY does this work so well? Why does everyone else say middle of your stance for short irons and forward a little for long irons if this way works so well?
@@TropicanaEntertainment well it definitely works for me. A lot of times someone will say hey your ball is to far back, I’m like nahhhh I’m good watch this. Thank you for the gr8 content!
I just came across this golf video. I helped teach my daughter to play golf, and this is one of the swing thoughts I used with her. I do think it was helpful, as she now regularly beats any man she dates. The issue is that initially she kept her left arm straight (another phrase I used with her) w/o breaking her left wrist enough. The result was not enough power, and she often pulled the ball left. To remedy this, I worked with her grip (she gripped it very tight), and gave her the Sam Snead suggestion of holding the club like it was a little bird. Voila!
you're spot on. tell her to keep playing well! im rooting for her. Thanks for watching . Please visit www.tropicanagolfshop.com for more goodies. - Jimmy
At 62 & over the pond played a doubles friendly yesterday Muddy cold day off rock hard tee mats Tried out your technique……….never left !!! Fantastic straight iron shots but still struggled with the driver & fairway woods Something I’ll practice over winter
Agree with another commenter sensible straightforward. Now to just implement it. I have had many of the same thoughts he mentioned, especially about the smooth swing. When he talks about 1 or 2 out of 10 good shots or having 2 or 3 good shots in a row then trying to hit harder and farther which usually means farther of course, it's like he has watched me play. Thank you sir for organizing thoughts I have had about my play into a concise narrative and offering a simple common sense solution.
Just found your channel. Immediate subscribe! You are the kind of instructor I have been looking for. Low, slow, loose, quiet, play whatcha got and stay quiet. I am pretty new to the game so I am still working on my “techniques”. You help me see what I have been able to figure out so thank you sir. I like your style.
Made it look so simple, will give this a go. Recently started golf again but had a few wrist and arm breaks over the years, this looks like its for me. I'm always trying to hit too hard and making bad contact. Will update on whether this improves me or not
Another great video Jim, I just had a search on your channel to see if you have addressed low point control but can't find any vids. I love the other concepts though and how simple they are, e.g low and slow, turn back, wave to the camera, turn forward
I’ve been doing pretty well on the course this year, but the driving range mats have been my kryptonite. I’m pretty sure I’ve been too steep and not keeping it low and slow. Timely video as I have an important round tomorrow. Thanks JT!
Sorry to hear about the equipment loss, it will most like show up somewhere. It's hard to work without your tools! I very much enjoy your videos and the "low and slow" is a great way to play, especially when you are feeling rushed or have other things on your mind.
Jimmy LOW and SLOW.....Just watched your video. I can verify what your teaching. I have played it for about 20 years. Found it on my own. I'm a 72 year old 8 handicap and hit it straight and in the fairway 80 percent of time. That's because this swing will consistently promote an impact on the sweet spot. My pals give me hell cause it is different than most swings but I still take their money...Ha Ha Keep up your teaching, if applied along with alignment and grip , I believe most will find improvement. Love your tempo in teaching too. LOW and SLOW
Hi Jimmy, first video I’ve seen from you and you’ve made a new fan! Subscribing now my friend! I’ve been golfing now for a year and I’ve heard that the ball should be more forward with longer irons and all types of other iterations of ball positioning. What does placing the ball back in your stance do? Why do you suggest moving the ball slightly back in stance? Thanks for the great content man!
Another great video. Jimmy can you advise what tripod you are using? I’m starting my own golf vlog soon and need some pointers. Thanks for your input and advice.
Jimmy, great tips as usual. You were “low & slow” in a very casual atmosphere. How do you maintain that tempo in a more competitive environment when the pressure ramps up? Good looking beard!
I’ve looked at a lot of golf videos in my day and you are so right on with how to play this crazy game. Thanks and “sorry” 🇨🇦😅I didn’t find you sooner.
Thanks Jimmy when are you going to be in Florida? This is the 1st time I've seen your video.... I'm glad I came across it. My game has changed through that video. Please let me know if you're in that area. Thanks for the tutorials 🇩🇲⛳️#BouyonGolf
Agree with this and a lovely relaxing video. Just enjoy but don't expect to turn into Jimmy overnight - or ever! Apart from this there are a huge number of other fundamentals he has in place which we probably don't have 😊
Loved seeing you play two holes instead of most people talking forever at the range or even worse, a simulator. Thanks Jimmy, I need to go low and slow
Jimmy I just saw on your video where you took your three iron and you were talking about ball position being towards your back foot with hands in front of the ball. I don't know how many times I have heard instructors talk about it, especially with woods and long irons to place the ball more towards the inside of the left foot, which is correct?
Your “old” swing describes me to a T. Sitting on the couch frustrated as hell at my game yesterday. The funny part is I hit driver OK and use the low and slow take back. I have to force myself to do this with irons from now on.
I’ve had great improvement since placing the ball towards the back of my stance, but other players chastise me for a wrong ball position at setup. There’s even a bunch of other UA-cam coaches who say ‘don’t do it’. What am I or they missing? Thanks for your help!!!
The best thing about this action, is that it helps you maintain your poster (and balance) through to the top the swing. Maintained posture is the easiest, least taught most effective lesson in the golf swing. Low and slow creates good posture automatically.
I just started golfing in the past few months and it sounds just like me. I try to hit way too hard and fast. Shanking left and right while getting a few good ones in here and there. I’m going to try this next time I’m at the range. May be tomorrow so I’ll find another video to comment and let ya know how it goes 😄

I get the Slow bit. But what does Low relate to? Your back swing looks normal height.
@@AndreiBgatovthink it relates to his take away swing path being low and not a higher and sharper lift.

Jimmy you are great. Keep inspiring
im glad you like it. thanks for watching. -jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
I am a scientist and I think you are excellent. You explain on point, the essentials. I admire that you live what you teach. Your kind of relaxation shows your level of professionalism. it is a matter of mindset and attitude. Low and slow seems to me one the great secrets of Golf. Thank you very much. High-level. Gerd😊
Wow, thank you! thanks for watching Doc.
For a one man crew this is an exceptional video. tx.
thanks for watching!
love it, thanks for great video, love the no nonsense no BS or scientific jargon, you make golf like it should be , to be enjoyed greetings from South West Ireland
thanks for watching Jon. be smooth.
I’m in San Francisco and next time I’m in SoCal I’ll pop in and do some camera work, since Manolo ain’t helping…LoL
You’ve helped a lot of golfers and we appreciate you. Thanks KC
Love to hear it KC! Glad you’re enjoying the game! Thanks for watching. -Jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
Thanks!
Thank you so much!!!
Gotta smooth it out. Always. Thanks for watching.
Some of the best advice iv seen
, as a 8hcp my worst shots are over swinging. low and slow works but you have to do it the whole round that’s the hard part. Cheers
Keep it smooth, it gets easier with time. Thanks for watching.
@@NcGolfGuy the club head stays square and the ball compresses into the ground. Thats why it works so well
@@TropicanaEntertainment well it definitely works for me. A lot of times someone will say hey your ball is to far back, I’m like nahhhh I’m good watch this. Thank you for the gr8 content!
Just found your video! Always struggled hitting my irons. I love how effortlessly you make it look! Can’t wait to try it on the golf course! ❤️
New subbie here. "Low & Slow", I liked that! Thanks Jimmy. I'm glad I've come across your channel. 👍😍
- Jimmy
Really enjoying your videos. You're simplifying things so well that they're graspable and easy to apply. Thanks!
You're welcome. Be smooth!
First time watching, and subscribed. Even if I wasn't trying to learn golf I'd watch this. Great style, very honest, Zen and the art of golf 😊
At 62 & over the pond played a doubles friendly yesterday
Muddy cold day off rock hard tee mats
Tried out your technique……….never left !!!
Fantastic straight iron shots but still struggled with the driver & fairway woods
Something I’ll practice over winter
Love to hear it! Thanks for watching. -Jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
THANKS FOE KEEPING THE GAME REAL!!!!!😊
Subbed, loving your teaching style and vibes.
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching. -Jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
Made it look so simple, will give this a go. Recently started golf again but had a few wrist and arm breaks over the years, this looks like its for me. I'm always trying to hit too hard and making bad contact. Will update on whether this improves me or not
Really enjoy playing golf with ya buddy. You making my game better & i greatly appreciate your tips!
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching.
Nice ! -that wedge is crazy but it works !!
Sorry to hear about the theft - nice to see you are back in action !
thanks for watching
Sorry to hear about your equipment loss, I always look forward to your videos, your the best.
Thank you for this lesson. It made me a much more consistent golfer. I wish Learned his years ago.
Recovering from a stroke and lost my 150 and in game, I can't wait to try this...
Thanks for making things so simple!
Another great video Jim, I just had a search on your channel to see if you have addressed low point control but can't find any vids.
I love the other concepts though and how simple they are, e.g low and slow, turn back, wave to the camera, turn forward
I absolutely adore your vintage look !
When I play I’m usually high💨 and fast 😂🎉 can’t wait to try the low and slow technique, it looks great, stay smooth 😎
Getting some Saguto Golf vibes from this guy. Good explanation of the back swing!
I’ve been doing pretty well on the course this year, but the driving range mats have been my kryptonite. I’m pretty sure I’ve been too steep and not keeping it low and slow. Timely video as I have an important round tomorrow. Thanks JT!
Good luck tomorrow. Be smooth!
I need to put this on repeat in my swing thoughts!
Best golf lesson I have ever had!!!!
I’m happy it’s working for you. Thanks for watching.
Thx Jimmy. Another great video with solid insights.. I like No gloves or range finders 2 things less to think about. gonna try that
When you say back in your stance is that playing of your right foot?
Thanks Jimmy. Great video. I will try and hope I can do it like you did. "Low and slow"
Sorry to hear about the equipment loss, it will most like show up somewhere. It's hard to work without your tools! I very much enjoy your videos and the "low and slow" is a great way to play, especially when you are feeling rushed or have other things on your mind.
Hey steve. Glad you like the videos. Thanks for watching. Be smooth!
You sold me by “That’s why you’re looking for tips”. Great video 👍🏽
Jimmy
LOW and SLOW.....Just watched your video. I can verify what your teaching. I have played it for about 20 years. Found it on my own. I'm a 72 year old 8 handicap and hit it straight and in the fairway 80 percent of time. That's because this swing will consistently promote an impact on the sweet spot. My pals give me hell cause it is different than most swings but I still take their money...Ha Ha
Keep up your teaching, if applied along with alignment and grip , I believe most will find improvement.
Love your tempo in teaching too. LOW and SLOW
Jimmy.1st time watching your vids.My question is do you always position the ball back of stance?Newbie learning the ropes.
Everything except driver goes back of the stance. Driver goes front/middle.
Better contact more consistency when you move it back.Try it out and see how it feels. Please let me know how it works for you!
Another great video. Jimmy can you advise what tripod you are using? I’m starting my own golf vlog soon and need some pointers. Thanks for your input and advice.
Very cool all about rhythm, I am looking forward to trying this.
This is it right here! New subscriber that is getting into golf.
What are your thoughts on having custom grips put on my clubs? New set of clubs, and I`m just getting back into golf after a 25 year hiatus.
Jimmy I like your approach have not seen you before I live in Australia I am 78 off 23
Hey John. Welcome to the club. Keep playing and keep having fun. Swing as smooth as possible. Be cool. -Jimmy
Jimmy, great tips as usual. You were “low & slow” in a very casual atmosphere. How do you maintain that tempo in a more competitive environment when the pressure ramps up? Good looking beard!
I always try to stay smooth mark. Dont worry about the circumstance
I’ve looked at a lot of golf videos in my day and you are so right on with how to play this crazy game. Thanks and “sorry” 🇨🇦😅I didn’t find you sooner.
It's took me 30 years to learn this, great video.
Glad you learned it though. Some people never do. Thanks for watching. Be smooth
Great tips🧐👍🏻
Thanks Jimmy when are you going to be in Florida?
This is the 1st time I've seen your video....
I'm glad I came across it.
My game has changed through that video.
Please let me know if you're in that area.
Thanks for the tutorials

Agree with this and a lovely relaxing video. Just enjoy but don't expect to turn into Jimmy overnight - or ever! Apart from this there are a huge number of other fundamentals he has in place which we probably don't have 😊
you can aspire to be smooth. thats all that matters. thanks for watching. :) be smooth- jimmy tropicanagolfshop.com
Try both. Tell me which one you hit better. I play everything BACK! Good luck. Please let me know though ;)
Are you putting the ball in the back of your stance for every iron or moving it for every iron?
Your “old” swing describes me to a T. Sitting on the couch frustrated as hell at my game yesterday. The funny part is I hit driver OK and use the low and slow take back. I have to force myself to do this with irons from now on.
You gotta be smooth with them irons too! Thanks for watching. -Jimmy www.tropicanagolfshop.com
I’ve had great improvement since placing the ball towards the back of my stance, but other players chastise me for a wrong ball position at setup. There’s even a bunch of other UA-cam coaches who say ‘don’t do it’. What am I or they missing? Thanks for your help!!!
I also use your chipping method works great so i started to use it in sand traps outstanding who knew
The best thing about this action, is that it helps you maintain your poster (and balance) through to the top the swing. Maintained posture is the easiest, least taught most effective lesson in the golf swing. Low and slow creates good posture automatically.
spot on larry! Thanks for watching . Please visit www.tropicanagolfshop.com for more goodies. - Jimmy
Again, one plane swing of Ben Hogan.
I just started golfing in the past few months and it sounds just like me. I try to hit way too hard and fast. Shanking left and right while getting a few good ones in here and there. I’m going to try this next time I’m at the range. May be tomorrow so I’ll find another video to comment and let ya know how it goes 😄
Practice in your back yard living room in a large room every day .
