Jimmy, this video is a gem. I watched it once, went down to the range to practise, watched it again and then tried out the 'low and slow' technique in a game. Magic. I scored lots of pars and bogeys (with the occasional double bogey but nothing worse) which is good for a 21-handicapper country club hacker like me. Plenty of shots coming sweetly out of the middle of the clubface, just as you say in the film.
Been playing golf since 1963 and have never come across such simple and effective advice. Many thanks from Paul Mason in Pembury, near Tunbridge Wells in South East England.

I have been striking golf balls, since 1969.
Low and slow is ideal. Pause at the top, totaly unweigt your left side, keep on your right side at transition and slam the unweighted left side down at P5, not P4, in order to stop yourself, from falling over !!!!
What an easy little game 😅

“low and slow” also promotes torso rotation rather than arm rotation, which is so important when learning to hit the ball squarely and straight rather than a slice. That rotation really sets up a nice inside out club path.

I constantly get too quick and my swing falls apart. I start trying to muscle it to get my distance back up to compensate for poor contact, you can imagine how that goes. In an effort to get over the yips, I started trying to slow it down. I came across this video and seeing the tempo of the low and slow just clicked. Went out back and hit 20 shots, all were within 6y from center (Garmin R10). My "normal" distance wasn't there right away, but losing 15y is worth being able to flush the ball in the middle.

I just came across this golf video. I helped teach my daughter to play golf, and this is one of the swing thoughts I used with her. I do think it was helpful, as she now regularly beats any man she dates. The issue is that initially she kept her left arm straight (another phrase I used with her) w/o breaking her left wrist enough. The result was not enough power, and she often pulled the ball left. To remedy this, I worked with her grip (she gripped it very tight), and gave her the Sam Snead suggestion of holding the club like it was a little bird. Voila!

Agree with another commenter sensible straightforward. Now to just implement it. I have had many of the same thoughts he mentioned, especially about the smooth swing. When he talks about 1 or 2 out of 10 good shots or having 2 or 3 good shots in a row then trying to hit harder and farther which usually means farther of course, it's like he has watched me play. Thank you sir for organizing thoughts I have had about my play into a concise narrative and offering a simple common sense solution.

Another great video Jim, I just had a search on your channel to see if you have addressed low point control but can't find any vids.
I love the other concepts though and how simple they are, e.g low and slow, turn back, wave to the camera, turn forward

I’ve been doing pretty well on the course this year, but the driving range mats have been my kryptonite. I’m pretty sure I’ve been too steep and not keeping it low and slow. Timely video as I have an important round tomorrow. Thanks JT!

Sorry to hear about the equipment loss, it will most like show up somewhere. It's hard to work without your tools! I very much enjoy your videos and the "low and slow" is a great way to play, especially when you are feeling rushed or have other things on your mind.

LOW and SLOW.....Just watched your video. I can verify what your teaching. I have played it for about 20 years. Found it on my own. I'm a 72 year old 8 handicap and hit it straight and in the fairway 80 percent of time. That's because this swing will consistently promote an impact on the sweet spot. My pals give me hell cause it is different than most swings but I still take their money...Ha Ha
Keep up your teaching, if applied along with alignment and grip , I believe most will find improvement.
Love your tempo in teaching too. LOW and SLOW

Hi Jimmy, first video I’ve seen from you and you’ve made a new fan! Subscribing now my friend! I’ve been golfing now for a year and I’ve heard that the ball should be more forward with longer irons and all types of other iterations of ball positioning. What does placing the ball back in your stance do? Why do you suggest moving the ball slightly back in stance? Thanks for the great content man!

Jimmy I just saw on your video where you took your three iron and you were talking about ball position being towards your back foot with hands in front of the ball. I don't know how many times I have heard instructors talk about it, especially with woods and long irons to place the ball more towards the inside of the left foot, which is correct?

Your “old” swing describes me to a T. Sitting on the couch frustrated as hell at my game yesterday. The funny part is I hit driver OK and use the low and slow take back. I have to force myself to do this with irons from now on.

I’ve had great improvement since placing the ball towards the back of my stance, but other players chastise me for a wrong ball position at setup. There’s even a bunch of other UA-cam coaches who say ‘don’t do it’. What am I or they missing? Thanks for your help!!!

The best thing about this action, is that it helps you maintain your poster (and balance) through to the top the swing. Maintained posture is the easiest, least taught most effective lesson in the golf swing. Low and slow creates good posture automatically.

I’m going to try this next time I’m at the range. May be tomorrow so I’ll find another video to comment and let ya know how it goes 😄
