    It is happening around the world. Not only in America racism will always be there no matter what colour and cultural back round we have. And for that, the world will never have peace.

    I have to disagree with one thing.... As a person of color I appreciate the fact the systemic racism needs to be addressed and there needs to be a good system of accountability.... But the larger issue that was not mentioned is the issue of officers not being authoritative but authoritarian.... If you look at what upset the officers and resulted in the escalation, it was the moment when Mr. West questioned them and did not display sufficient deference to their authority. Racists tend to treat certain groups unfairly but with an authoritarian.. Everyone can be victims of police misconduct (Thinking of the 60+ year old man who got beat up because he was sleeping in a parked car in a park after driving 11 hours)... We need change or repeal the contempt of cop laws that enable an officer to arrest someone for questioning their motives and authority)... Resisting without violence... Resisting, Delaying, Obstructing... PC 148... Just about every state has a contempt of cop law....What is needed is a nationwide demotion of all of these "crimes" to being a secondary charge... In other words... How do you resist an arrest if they do not have probable cause that you committed an arrestable offense? We want officers to be authoritative... We do not want the officers to be authoritarian....

      Dear @reelsoffortuneslotsplay427. I didn’t understand some of your comment about authoritative-vs-authoritarian? but what I really wanted to say i was, heard, about the sixty yr old gentleman who was resting in the park after a long drive to see a new granddaughter that cop such be under a prison cell he beat that man so bad his ribs were separated I can’t even imagine the pain that man must have been in a 60 yr old man that was so horrible I was the first video when it happened to him but I don’t remember what if anything happening to the cop probably nothing but if that was my dad I’d be looking for some street justice, that cop is crazy,violent and psycho😮😮😮😮

    • @reelsoffortuneslotsplay4267
      @reelsoffortuneslotsplay4267 20 днів тому +5

      @@debrasnow4261 Thank you for the reply and the chance to clarify... The line between an officer being authoritative and authoritarian is about the bullying that goes on from authoritarians... When a citizen is accused of "Contempt of cop" simply for trying to exercise his rights....I have trouble with that type of policing. The first thing some police say is "Imagine what will happen to you if we don't answer your calls for help" My answer to that is that far too often, some officers do more harm than good.... They may or may not be well intentioned.
      I guess what I am trying to say is that I see a serious risk with police encounters because I don't know if I am dealing with an authoritative officer who is trying to fairly enforce the officer or whether I am dealing with an authoritarian who feels his primary purpose is to control and intimidate the citizenry (regardless of their age, race, or sex)...
      Authoritative officers tend to base arrests and enforcement actions based on the law. Authoritarians tend to treat citizens unfairly when they are questioned or challenged. And of course... They are enabled with contempt of cop laws that allow them to detain and arrest not to serve the community... They serve their egos by letting citizens know that they are in charge and they have the power...
      Unaccountable men with guns....And a legal system that can enable their abuse of citizens... Regardless of the constitution

    Some questions-are United States citizens required by law to carry some form of official identity? Is it not unreasonable for someone who has been accosted by the police to ask for the reason (but in this case, the reason is obvious-black person in upscale neighborhood) ? When police in New Zealand go through training, one thing impressed upon them is that they are policing with the approval and trust of the public, and that they do their best to maintain that status. There seems to be any number of reports of aggresive, confrontational and poor behavior by police officers in the United States.

      Knowing he had stopped this man unfairly and for no reason, he will have hoped that the man would become verbally annoyed thus giving the cop reason - in his eyes at least - more of a reason to exercise his authority, even more agitated when it didn't work. One way or another, it always pays to remain calm.

    This is another WISH Documentary. We only Wish for Law Enforcement to have this much Integrity. The Truth is, We don't have many Sergeants, Lieutenants, Chiefs, or anyone in a Higher Authority to hold Officers Accountable. The Higher Superiors only Protect and Cover-up Police Bad Police Conduct standing by what they Truly took an Oath to Uphold, and that's "THE THIN BLUE LINE. 👺If they really care, they would get rid of this Thin Blue Line BS. How is that even acceptable in Law Enforcement? That tells you what they all are really about. They even have a Flag that hangs in the Precinct reminding officers what comes first, and everything else comes after The Thin Blue Line.
    It's pathetic. Smmfh

    This story makes me wonder if it’s true ? 50 years ago I served in Iraqi army as a reserve officer, the rules then were , if any army personnel whatsoever his rank , requires to face justice, it’s the army police who is supposed to deal with him not the civilians police. The fact that most the armies of the countries which were part of the British Empire colonies at one time must have adapted the rules of British army to certain extent , I do believe that the army officer of the story, particularly he is a high ranking officer, should have immediately told the police officer that he is an army officer and requested the involvement of the army police, rather than been humiliated by been handcuffed and taken to a police station !!
