It's gotta be weird going from a company that's so restrictive about what you're "allowed to do" online while also being infinitely supportive of your projects and creativity, it's gotta be like going from prison to living as a millionaire
More akin to going from a slave plantation to being free, you went from earning money for people that hate you to earning money for yourself on your own time.

The fallout is very surreal. I really want to see actual change from the asshole agency of the day, because of how so morally corrupt it felt to be in there, as expressed by the graduated talents that have now become their own talents independent of an overarching corporate culture. I can only hope. People have subscribed to the rrat theories in 4chan so much that it’s basically a Palestine situation between the English speaking fans and them.
Suddenly this has become the religious study of chain of narration in order to ascertain the truthfulness of statements made by different people formerly working in the same agency. We could make a religion out of this.
@@FiredAndIced not sure about the religious bit, but the EN chain goes something like this : -Zaion is terminated for various reasons, several of which boil down to "resisting Niji tyranny". Sayu leaks just about everything people are now accepting as the truth, but back then most considered outright slander. Those who listened become more skeptical, but the overall public impression remains mostly the same. -Nina graduates. First NijiEN liver to even HAVE a graduation stream. -Mysta graduates. He was scheduled to graduate months earlier, even ahead of Nina, but personally chose to release his first original song beforehand. Redebuts as Kuro. Those in the know feel vindicated, public opinion begins to sour. -Matara joins VShojo. Her astonishment at the difference in work environment is plain to see. Public opinion is rapidly approaching point of no return. -Mika graduates and goes quiet. She claims not to know what she'll do after retirement, but most people already speculate she'll move to VShojo, since they've basically earned their "Niji rehab facility" and "VTuber retirement home" labels after Kuro and Matara. -Sometime around Mika's graduation, the Selen megayab happens. Selen is forced into silence. Speculations abound due to NijiEN's tumultuous history regarding stealth suspensions. A few months later, she is officially and unceremoniously terminated. Everyone is outraged. Doki follows in Sayu's footsteps and releases her side of the story. Thanks to her excellent standing in the broader community and overall longer experience in NijiEN (debuted merely a month after Lazulight), as well as Niji's already low reputation by that point, the truth is now accepted as such. Sayu's story is recontextualized and far more readily accepted, now considered a warning that went unheeded. It's kind of a smart business move. They make Nijisanji go through all the trouble and cost of doing the auditions, training the talents, and showing the bad apples. They then pick up the cream of the crop who are discontent, give them a sweet deal and make them happy to join. They are able to avoid the costliest part of building a brand-new talent from the ground up. And if you can survive the Nijisanji black grind (for a while atleast), then you are tough enough to be a veteran vtuber who can bring your fans with you.
Its kind of like business consulting in the corporate world. It is a nightmarish career , but many ambitious people take a few years of it because if you can handle THAT you can handle anything.
This is why I always love the idea of Vshojo, that was form by already establish Vtubers, I hope it doesn't grow so big it becomes like another Corpo, but as we see with those that have left there is little drama compare to others and can keep their channel, so even when it doesn't work they end up with the better deal
Just keep in mind though that VShojo ultimately relies heavily on their talent's brand, which is kind of a blessing and a curse: see how much drama VShojo got caught in their early days, and only when certain members left did VShojo start their rehabilitation to becoming what it is now.

@@shadmanbashar6067 My point is; do not just go all happy go lucky thinking "yay things should be better all is well they learned and it'll never happen again" and this is something even outside company stuff, nobody is ever 100% safe from life troubles, if you have had problems, whether it be from work, or personal, or if it is not even your own and if it is something you have learned from elsewhere, instead of just leaving it all behind, keep a tiny part of it as a lesson in life, and do your best that it doesn't happen again, or if it has not happened to you personally, then take it as a lesson from others, so that you do not suffer the samefate, or that the results are not as terible.

The more I hear about their experiences in Vshojo, the more I believe Vshojo to be a mythical company that allows its members to do fuck all and succeed.
I think that literally started with the Founding members. For example Melody has Epilepsy, so can't play games with flashing lights, Mouse has so many medical problems but they all come down to one thing. Haruka is autistic and Zen has severe ADHD. By the time Kson joined Gunrun had to know that the needs of his streamers came first ad foremost.

I'll never get tired of hearing former talents from Niji getting cultured shock by the amount of freedom and support they get after they leave. They really are like a bird that got put in a cage and was set free.
i mean aside from all the "drama" if you can call it that, nijisanji clearly operates on quantity over quality, they hire too many talents but not enough supporting staff to maximize revenue without spending too much money, on the other hand vshojo has a handful of talents and clearly enough support to handle the needs of the talents
And as a result, the people who thrive the most within the company are the ones that do the bare minimum. Just the occasional song, otherwise just karaoke zatsu and games. They dont do big projects, they dont show ambition, because everything special they want to do comes out of pocket and loses money. They literally force the talents to choose between doing something big to please, or even grow, their fanbase... or actually make money. A literal JOB shouldn't force that kind of ultimatum on someone.

Yep. A real and genuine psychological effect. Spend long enough in any situation and your brain rewires it as "normal", and typically normal is seen as positive, I suspect due to familiarity being wired as "safe". "The devil that you know is better than the one you don't", as the saying goes. So past a point, even people in horrible situations will feel SOME degree of safety within the comforting blankets of being ruthlessly abused. And so when they leave it, some might want it back to varying degrees. But once a genuinely healthy environment becomes your new normal, you'll feel a level of comfort and safety that utterly eclipses the coping mechanism you relied on before. None of this is to say that this is what's necessarily happening to Michi. I have too little information to go on, and this seems to be different. But it can definitely happen to people in her position, even if it doesn't always.
I imagine it's like getting out of a dystopian society and stepping into the wild. There's so much out there but there's no guides and the very idea of not having anything like a map is incredibly terrifying. What if I make a mistake? What if something bad happens? And so on...
The teasers they made were brilliant and so funny. I didn’t think there was going to be a new member. Just though Vshojo we’re trying something new and I was there for it 😭

We could make a religion out of this.
@@FiredAndIced not sure about the religious bit, but the EN chain goes something like this :
-Zaion is terminated for various reasons, several of which boil down to "resisting Niji tyranny".
Makes several comments regarding Niji work environment, on top of his previous thinly veiled complaints as Mysta.
Niji continues to blunder, even remarking that the entire situation's consequences would be "negligible". Everyone with half a brain disengages from Niji entirely. Shares plummet.
-Michi joins VShojo. [YOU ARE HERE]

"These walls are funny. First you hate 'em, then you get used to 'em. Enough time passes, you get so you depend on them. That's institutionalized."
The Shawshank Redemption
