- In mid-2019, the old Stuttgart train station will change - all shops and restaurants will be closed - by the end of the year, the station building will be closed due to renovations. The new station named "Stuttgart 21" will reopen in 2026. the original station was designed by the achitectPaul Bonatz in1911. Now all tracks are moved underground and turned 90 degrees. Take one last walk into the old station building.

Ein architektonisches Meisterwerk!
Selbst entkernt und von Bauarbeiten durchtrennt strahlt dieses einmalige Gebäude noch immer den Stolz und die Würde aus, welche dessen majestätische Geometrie damals als Zeichen der staatstragenden Institution Eisenbahn vor Augen führen sollte.
Ich hoffe, dass dieser Esprit auch nach dem Umbau erhalten bleibt.
Hahahahah, der war echt gut! Der alte miefig-dreckige Klotz, den hässlichsten Schadfleck im ganzen Talkessel, als majestätisch zu persiflieren, ganz mein Humor!

it will be a shame to see it close temporarily, however with the amount of work that needs to be undertaken I understand why. I look forward to regular behind the hoardings footage here of the works.

How old is this train station. Neat building. Thank you
The planning of the station started 1910. Due to World War I and the following financial crises the construction took quite a long time and the first part was opened 23rd October 1922. The second part in 1927.

@@exiownage ja, der Istzustand ist mehr als peinlich.... Wenn man täglich da ist, erscheint es einem als Normalität, schneidet man dann ein Video zusammen und betrachtet die Bilder, denkt man doch: Wie hässlich es da doch eigentlich jetzt da ist...

Würd ich so nicht sagen. Die Kleine Schalterhalle ist ne lieblos Rumpelkammer und die Bahnhofshalle ein Sammelsurium aus Einbauten der Siebziger, höchstens Anfang Achtziger Jahre zugemüllt mit irgendeinem Werbekitsch. Also ich kann da nix von "originaler Größe" sehen..
@@EisenbahnTvVideo Sehe ich genauso. In vielen Stäten im Osten (Dresden, Halle, Leipzig, usw.) hat die Bahn gezeigt wie man alte Bahnhöfe schick macht. So wird das in Stuttgart auch geschehen. Orginal ist am Bahnhof sowieso nicht mehr viel. Von dem war nämlich nach dem 2. WK nur noch die Grundmauern übrig.
I was here a few years ago. In fact I stayed the hotel toward the front of the building.
2026 eh. So at the end of 2020 it will close? There’s a lot of work to be done!

@@gewglesux Same I love this city and the ,,Bonatzbau". One of most beautiful railway halls in Germany! I hope this impressive building will be renovated in the next years because it's really shabby at the moment. Not good to see the building in such a status.
