Mechanical fuel pumps and pumping foot/leg action....classic. The longer you leave it the more you need to pump it. Looking forward to part 2 BBG.

I just got through talking smack about self tappers in one of my videos. It figures a few days later that you have a totally legit reason for using them. I'll just eat those words now. Got my fingers crossed for your safe trip.

I tell you everything is important, how well we know. Its the twenty four hours in a day and forty eight hours of problems so you only can do as much as you can... somethings just have to wait. Of course there is a small problem, stores want money for pieces an parts and unless your Deboss with deep pockets, you have to pick and chose just who wins the new stuff... like if I am doing it, its done right, no cheap out oil short of a hole in the pan and its rolling fifty feet on its own power. I've used some cheap oil to kinda flush a little of the dirt and crap thats been waiting to come loose. So a hour or three won't kill it. I just don't feed it all its oats and definitely change it right off the get go cause the pans coming down anyway. I have done some wiring I ain't proud of but I will claim any work I did, cause it ain't making new problems. I have seen guys grab for a hot wire and its coming right out of the OBC.... not the smart thing to do. If you have to, string clear to the damn battery till you got some gear an a light to see just what your up against. Those fellows with a PHD in armchair mechanics are brilliant as they can see over three thousand miles away what you are doing. I will just remain humble and do my best not to burn the shop down. Yeah, making a video for a nickel from youtube is harder than most realize... basically why I never started one. Ya did what needed done an will make Ky. with a bit of luck

Its great having you posting again. I found you just before the accident. It is so nice to have people work with you that know what their doing. Its even better when their you're own kids, it means you did great as a parent.
Tool style and brand is a personal preference, a home tool is not the same as a work tool, I own Klien, bluepoint and sad to say Snap-on and Mac tools to work on cars. My choice of wire stripers is my old as heck bluepoints. To wire my machine control panels I used my auto strippers, just easier on my hands stripping thousands of wire ends.
Good preparation is key to a safe and more enjoyable trip.
Do yourself a favor and scrap those hood springs and mount a couple of strong arms, you will not bend your hood in half with that modification.
How much does that old truck weigh? Might have a way to help you get it to you.

I think she weighs about 2500lbs. No motor. I towed it with my wife’s grand Cherokee no problem.
