Join me as I share the journey of Buddies of Bremen winning the prestigious "Prosperity" category at the Diaspora Prize event. On Saturday, August 24, 2024, the German Emigration Center hosted the award ceremony for the "Bremer Diaspora Prize for Exceptional Commitment to Sustainable Development in Bremen and a Better World."
This award recognizes individuals (BIPOC) and migrant-diasporic organizations advocating for an environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable society. Projects in Bremen or Global South countries focus on health, education, poverty alleviation, gender equality, sustainable agriculture, and healthy nutrition.
The 2024 awards were presented in the following categories:
People & Peace - promoting social solidarity
Planet - advocating for ecological sustainability
Prosperity - championing innovative business practices
Partnership - fostering cross-border collaboration
