This version looks like the pale ale that was said to have gone out of style in the 1890's. I've been researching what I can find of the Burton's history as a home brewer. The #1 Burton that later came to be known as a barleywine is my next go.
I had a couple of pints of this in a pub in Glasgow circa 1992 and it was stunning!
I love the DBA that Burton Bridge brew. Never tried the original.

Check out Gates Brewery. That brewer does proper Burton beer like this.

I think it was brewed in the late 70's or maybe 1980.
