this really helped me as I'm a year 10 student the problem is I havent been teacher how to use s calculator
ur voice sounds like mumbo jumbo and i love it
I was literally always stressing about why it wouldn’t give me the answer. It would always leave me at a FRACTION.
Hello there. Just press shift then mode set up. Then press again 1. Then press again 2. It would not leave you a fraction answer again
Press shift. Then mode setup. Then press 1. Then press 2 again. It will directly change the display of ur answer.
@@emmanmurillo6956 thank you so much i had the same dilemma!! much appreciated!
@@KAIKARI just press sd
Emman Murillo is it going to reset after I turn offf the calculator or it’ll stay like that
Really well presented. Thank you!
Thanks very much. really handy
Thank you for this video it helped
Fantastic video👍
Thank you. I needed to learn a lot of this calculator’s functions for AMT classes. Now that my old calculator died on me.
Please can you make this video but for the new casio calculator?
Where is / ?
Cheers have a test tmz needed to buy this calculator
How did you move your store your answer 11/12 to the symbol *Ans* ?
How do I use [ ]
Hey, does the fx-85GT plus have constant functions? Features where you can use constants.
It doesn't have the preloaded constants no. You need the 991 or 570 versions for that.
@@TheCalculatorGuide Oh ok
Helped me ALot Thx
I do not have the top arrow on the display window how do I enable it
Where is the "CALC" button on fx-82es plus? Please let me know... I really needed it
I am afraid it doesn’t have that feature. You will have to get a 991 model. Best would be a fx-991EX Classwiz
why none can ever explain how to set up the calculator so it divides the thousands with commas???? i cant get the numbers right as have no idea how to do it?
If you mean how to set up 1000 to look like 1,000 then I don't think this is possible. You can change the decimal point from . to , however.
would be helpful if you told us which mode to set calculator
MathIO Norm 2
Where is the Calc button in the fx-350ES PLUS ?? ;(((
The calc function is not available on that model
What's the difference between Casio fx-83GT PLUS and fx-85GT PLUS (besides the 85 being solar-powered) ? I don't know which to buy
Exactly that difference. Nothing Else. However, both have been discontinued. You would be buying out the last of the stock.
@@TheCalculatorGuide Thank u so much!! Would u say having a solar powered one is better? or is it better to get the battery powered fx83?
@@jiqingyeoh2065 It doesn't really matter. The fx-83 battery will probably last as long as you need it and you can replace it if needed. However, if there is no real price difference, you might as well get the solar powered one.
@@TheCalculatorGuide Ok, Thank u so much!! :)
Can this calculator solve linear quadratic equations like fx 991 es or es plus?? Also does this have constants and unit conversions??? Please reply.....
This particular model doesn’t but the fx-991EX does.
How to put bracket??
Hopefully your model has a bracket somewhere
how to set it to give me 0.5 not 1/2
You need to select LineIO as your Number format in the SETUP menu
Any help my calculator won’t let me edit the number of a to the power of it just deletes
Don’t know. Try the reset procedure if you haven’t got anything stored. Then try it again.
Where did you get the animated calculator from? I am a teacher and would like to embed one into powerpoint to show students how to work out equations :)
Why is when I try to do the square root of 99, I don't get an answer but another square root notation?
Do you mean you want the decimal equivalent rather than the radical. Go to SETUP and then select 1 MathI/O and then 2 LineO to get a decimal answer
@@TheCalculatorGuide I figured it out, just need to toggle with the S-D key. Everytime I was trying to get the square root of 99, it was expressing it as a fraction.
Hi are you planning to male video guide for casio fx-220 plus?
I wasn’t planning to sorry. I don’t own one. It isn’t a natural display calculator so it’s not something we would typically use in qualifications. Is it a calculator that is quite popular where you live?
@@TheCalculatorGuide i dont know.that was my first calculator with thing like that.
do you have merch
Not properly yet. Soon though. Just when there is time to put some together.
Hi what is the 2nd key on the 85GT plus please
Which Key are you referring to. ALPHA or SHIFT?
@@TheCalculatorGuide thank you
Is the 85gt plus allowed in o level cie? I believe it is but many of my friends tell me otherwise.
Absolutely. The rules are here. The 85GT Plus is fine. help.cambridgeinternational.org/hc/en-gb/articles/115005425605-When-can-I-use-a-calculator-and-what-calculators-are-acceptable-
HOW CAN I WRITE OFF ON THE CALCULATOR
How do you mean? Write the word off or switch it off?
Why is my fx 83GTPlus showing my answers in fraction mode instead of the normal decimal? I have set it to NORM Mode and cleared ALL. Casio is a fail on this one. Yes, I know, there is the S-D button, but my point is, why need a calculator if I the device outputs a fraction instead of the calculation result?
+DAVID BLACK I have a video regarding this if you would like to watch ua-cam.com/video/QEJ687hnGu4/v-deo.html
Thank you for pointing me to that other video. It still does not address my question specifically and I think it is wrong for a calculator to give me a "mathematically exact" answer in the form of a Fraction, rather than an "approximation" result in the form of decimals. Would you like to come to dinner and have each of them separate and exact ingredients in fractional little containers than a cooked dish with all of them in one plate? A calculator is not a mathematical tool, but a tool that helps mathematics translated into practically useful numbers. How about a surgeon calculating a 54/61 inches long incision, just how think about the absurdity of the Fraction. Perhaps it is just me, but a calculator is very useful to "calculate" and give me a decimal answer, than "exacate" and give me an exact answer in the form of a fraction.
DAVID BLACK To be honest, there are other calculators available that give you a linear display display. I will have a video of one coming up soon. I think that would address your original question. It appears you are expecting this calculator to be something that it isn't.
Hope you found this out. You do realize that the fraction answer is the same as the decimal one right? It has 'Calculated' the answer and is displaying it as the equivalent fraction. You ask why you need a calculator that shows fractions. What if you are asked to multiply 1 half by 1 fifth? You'd need to convert these to decimal to enter them into a the calculator you describe, multiply these decimals to get 0.1 then manually convert this back to 1 tenth. That's much more effort that pressing SD or changing the IO of the display! If you haven't worked out how to do it, the NORM mode has nothing to do with the answer being in fractions or decimals. Its to do with the 'natural display' eg fractions look like fractions and square roots look like square roots etc. To switch from the Maths Input/output (MthIO) to a linear input/output (LineIO) use Shift > Mode/Setup and choose 2 LineIO.My preference is to choose 1 for MthIO then 2 for LineIO, that gives you the ability to enter fractions in the format of the video but defaults to Decimals for giving the results.
How can i solve matrix using fx-83GT
There isn't a Matrix mode on the fx-83GT so you can't.
There isn't a binary mode on this model of calculator unfortunately
Can I do linear equations on this type of calculator?
It doesn't have a solver function if that's what your looking for. I would recommend the Casio Classwiz for solving equations.
Thank you for responding
Yes you can. Press the mode button in the top right, then press the number 3. After that you just type in your linear equation, the press the equals button. After that your given a choice of what value of X you want to start at, then press equals again. After this it lets you choose what the final value of X you want, press equals again. You then given the option to choose a 'step' which is the intervals between values of X. Press equals again. It will then display a table of values showing what the value of Y is for each X value you have given it.
^can be used for graphs I don't think it can straight up solve for values of X though
Agreed . You are talking about table mode there, which you can use to substitute values as stated.
I trusted my Casio fx-85GT to give the correct answer every time. Then, one day I raised 11 to the power of 6 and divided the answer by 13. Very strange......
Yes it is a strange that quirk
thank you very much. I have problem finding how solve a second degree equation using this calculator, can you help me please. the equation is ×^2+(1.8*10^-5)×-1.8*10^-6=0
+Mohammed Al.zabhawi You would need a calculator with a quadratic silver to do this exclusively with the calculator. On this calculator, you could input it into the quadratic formula.
wheres the 2nd button?
Do you mean SHIFT? Yellow coloured functions are operated using Shift, red coloured using Alpha
339 x 0.52 = 4407 | 25 ??? wtf
Mr. Bruff???
Sorry, no
Stampylonghead?????
I'm afraid not
8/12=?
2/3 or 0.6 recurring
You sound like +BrianDouglas
Without an American accent though!
Can you use this calculator to get roots of a third order polynomial? I mean the Casio fx-85ES - PLUS.
Not easily as the 911 or silver models as there isn't a solver function as there is on those models
I have commented on one of your other videos asking about the memory of the calculator. I think you can find roots by getting the table of values for X's for a range in COMP mode.
You may be thinking of TABLE mode there. Yes you can do this for a range of values (about 20 results). It is essentially a trial and improvement method.
You haven't told us how to get from fraction to linear answers.....how annoying! It took me half an hour to work that out!
Glad you found the SD button tutorial
Have you not heard of Irrelevant Sound Syndrome? It drives away intelligent thought but you have used exactly the wrong soundtrack to get your point across, Supermarkets use it t make you buy things you didn't come in for, Radio 5 destroys weather and accident broadcasts with it - with the sound OFF you its OK. But why put it there in the first place?? Vanity, everybody else has it....
If you are referring to the background music then I disagree.
The music helps to:
Maintain the pace of the video;
Establish brand identity;
Provide background where there is no dialogue, which helps in preventing some viewers from leaving the video;
Appeal to a younger demographic.
I do not consider this irrelevant.
Please also bear in mind that I have different music on some of the other videos which you may prefer and that I am unable to edit this without removing the dialogue or replacing the video.
If you do not like having background music at all then I do have both a free and premium course available which are free of background music during instruction. (They only have music in the intro and endings plus odd bonus videos)
In this situation and as an aerospace and engineering lecturer I would want to appeal to anyone that is interested and if, as I am, a person who is interested is actually put off by the music you have attracted the wrong demographic, whether young or old. I used the term irrelevant sound, not simply irrelevant. I don't know if you listen to Radio 5 but in the cases of the weather and traffic reports they use a background sound that is almost deliberately designed to detract from listening to the reports. If it affects me, it affects others, detrimentally. But thank you I will look into your courses free of background music.
Please do. There are links to the courses in most of the videos. I think you would like them much more.
+The Calculator Guide Hi and thanks. The reason for my original search was that using a Casio fs-85GT-Plus I want the answer to be displayed directly in decimal, short cutting the use of the S-D key but as yet have been unable to change this mode - any ideas, or do you have a video on this subject, please?
Yes I do. Many people have asked about this.
I've had a good explore and it's not good news if you want decimals straight away. I have done a video about it at this link here ua-cam.com/video/QEJ687hnGu4/v-deo.html
