A few years ago, I stayed at a Element Hostel in San Francisco on Mission Street. I got to see this guy at the BART Station a few times. I'm so glad I did. I loved stopping and just watching this guy go at it before I started my day in SF.
The great die young and Jesse Morris sure was a great, not many people can execute it quite as good as this. As a Cash enthusiast I am very impressed RIP bud
tortured souls have words. make for the best stories, and the best songs. im sad to be one of the people in that demographic but i try to make the best of it
Being a huge fan of Johnny Cash, this guy was the next best thing. Such a shame he took his own life. A great talent. I feel for his family and everyone whose lives he touched.
Jesse was a friend of mine, anyone lucky enough to have met him will tell you he was the kindest, gentlest soul. It's such a shame, but so awesome he lives on through his music. Miss you, buddy, I shoulda let you take me on that date.
If this is the same guy that busked doing Sunday Morning Coming Down, he was really good. Johnny would've liked him, I'd bet money on it. Especially given Johnny's past w/drug addiction and stuff. Sad really. RIP.
I'm sure him and John are singing now, I'm gutted he died so young, I would of loved to watch him live, never got the chance to see Johnny live. Brilliant voice.
Beautiful, simple version of this song. Don't know how Mr. Morris passed, but sad to hear he has. The "Hi Mom" comment at the end particularly painful.
how does he play the solo while still strumming the chords?! anyone have a good tab or tutorial for that? I know the basic solo but I can't figure out how he plays it AND the chords.
Tom. I know man, I thought the same damn thing! I kept thinking, "Wonder who is off to the side playing the lead part?" Then I kept watching closer and noticed he was playing BOTH! I was mind boggled! So sad to lose such great talent man! By what I've researched of him, he's wasn't only an amazing musician and singer but he was an amazing person as well. But sadly he fought with mental illness, which unfortunately won. 😢
Its not too hard if you strum and emphasize the strings/notes you want on the strum up or down. I never had anyone to play with and learned to do the same.
Suicide by hanging. Made the first attempt just a couple months before but survived. And then 2 months later went for the second attempt and succeeded, so to speak. Very sad.
The only place on UA-cam where everyone is just thankful. How it should be. Rest in peace brother.
Hickup couldn’t agree more, it’s beautiful to see. Rest easy Jesse, gone too soon.
Peace not piece
@@cremedelacreme12 you really saw this comment and just couldnt help but be the exception?

R.I.P Jesse - bet you're jamming with Johnny Cash up there in Heaven.
I'd see him 3-4 times a week he'd be playing at the BART station, just an incredible talent. RIP.

Its uncanny.....what a gift
this man was so talented. he could play rhythm and lead at the same time. incredible.
He sure the fuck did, huh? God damn!
Hot damn! THAT'S MY NEPHEW! You go, Jess! Bravo ten times over dude -- you got the Right Stuff. Always has -- always will!
Love,
Uncle Dane
He's a fucking legend ---- massive loss to the world - I hope your all doing tbe best
RIP Jesse Morris!! Johnny truely lived through you for all of us to see. Such a miracle. 11 million hits on Facebook brother. Rest in Paradise.
why is it the most talented souls are the most tortured ?
Because emotions
It’s unfortunately what creates the best music. Rest In Peace Jesse
tortured souls have words. make for the best stories, and the best songs. im sad to be one of the people in that demographic but i try to make the best of it
Because they live the song
Because dumb people don't notice or feel much.
Wow I came across Jesse a few years ago and lately he's been popping up. I get a lot more than a guy doing Johnny Cash songs. RIP
Being a huge fan of Johnny Cash, this guy was the next best thing. Such a shame he took his own life. A great talent. I feel for his family and everyone whose lives he touched.
johnny cash didn't take his own life, he died of old age man

The person did NOT say Johnny Cash took his own life. The guy in this video did. Geez learn to read and comprehend.
@@avenger1888 You obviously missed the humor.
@@nunovyobeeswax4177 That's disgusting... not humor.
Best Johnny cash covers every from the amazing young man. Rip brother 🙏😔
RIP Jesse Morris. A great talent gone to soon.
I watch this everyday.
You would be hard pressed to find a better cover of this song anywhere, obviously the quality was poor but seeing passed that this lad was amazing.
He made that guitar ring out real nice.
Dean Scott yes
Ted Peterson yup
Preach!
Ted Peterson. I know right? Sounded like he was playing lead and rhythm at the same time even. Jesse was amazing! So sad to lose him so soon!

Such a talent. The voice is almost spot on to Johnny! RIP & thank you for sharing with us while you were here
Sooo long agoo...
I hope he's up there jamming with JC 🍻 best JC cover I've ever heard! RIP Jess
The world is just not allowed to have great talent.
freaky!!!....like its JUST like Johnny cash! amazing
An awesome talent !
I just found out about him on Facebook today & was so happy thinking maybe country music could be saved, then I learn he's dead 😭 god he was good
He is a great facsimile of Cash, for sure. I don't know that that would save country music though. RIP to a great artist.
His writing was really good too
Me too.Was thinking cool i'm going to SF watch him sing. Dam
you might like Shakey Graves. I don't even like country music much and I find him really good.
Chris MacNeil yes!
So sad to hear such a tragic thing. This guy was talented i just stumbled across this video
Great voice, playing.
Beautiful, simple version of this song. Don't know how Mr. Morris passed, but sad to hear he has. The "Hi Mom" comment at the end particularly painful.
Dude you were so good
Wow awesome
Thank you so much!
Gosh how sad he has passed too! Its so strange listening to him, like the voice isn't coming from him! Wow
Wow!!!
Jessie died a few years ago, god bless him. RIP.
Rip man ☮️
FFFUUUUCCKKKK!!!! this guy is--was good!!! Now i know why i just went and bought his album!

JC would be very complimented by Jesse's rendition!! Excellent Jess!!

This guys dead? Wtf!!! He sound soooo fucking good!!!!!
RIP
👏👏👏
Could you please let me know where I can get it?
I do
What happened to him?
I read he committed suicide. Was only 28.
Suicide by hanging. Made the first attempt just a couple months before but survived. And then 2 months later went for the second attempt and succeeded, so to speak. Very sad.
bart ghost 🤘
YEAH JESSE! THAT'S MY COUSIN! GO MAN! YOUR AWESOME! ROCK IT LIKE THERES NO TOMORROW! I LOVE YA!
Love Jess
The camera being all out of focus and whatnot is really kinda eerie
Where can I read that he died ?
Google it
it was suicide, right? just goes to show that regardless of talent, money, etc you can never truly tell how much a person is suffering...
I believe having a tortured soul has a lot to with having a ton of talent.
Buy his album here differentfur.bandcamp.com/album/i-wanna-take-it-all-back-in-memory
what a talent!! Waste of greatness.....why does this happen? Hendrix, Joplin, and so on : (
Only the good die young, the bad live on and end up running our government!
Well except of The Rolling Stones 🤘🏽
Goddamn this guy had talent, too bad he can't get on the payload.
He's a dead ringer for JC!!
You sound spot on with the vocals except the diction is a bit too northern to be perfect
JFC...always one!
He's dead.
RIP
