Eddie Griffin: Master P Cut Me $1M Check For "Foolish" Script
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лис 2015
- www.vladtv.com - Eddie Griffin has experienced a lot of success during his career, but the famed comedian told us that his favorite film he's done is "Foolish," which was based on his life. Eddie also shared with VladTV how the film came together after he helped Master P during the start of his rap career by letting him be his opening act. The comedian revealed that his gesture led to Master P later offering to do a movie with Eddie and cutting him a $1 million check for the film's script.
While Eddie spoke about some of the highs during his career, he also spoke about his rough start, which included being homeless and "sleeping standing up" when he first landed in Los Angeles. Griffin explained that he juggled three jobs while waiting to break through in comedy, which happened after he caught the attention of Andrew Dice Clay during his set at The Comedy Store.
To hear more from Eddie, including the time he choked out Tiny Lister, hit the above clip. - Розваги
Eddie Griffin is that Uncle who tells the best stories, is a beast at spades, drinks heavily, and is good at grilling. Every Black family has that uncle.
nigga keep a deck of cards and dominoes in the car
+Roy Grimes dead
True shit, lol.
that one drunk uncle that never have you 5$ he owes you but always got money for a beer
+Drunk Drunkington no

+tony garcia lmaoooooooo
+tony garcia I know right that Nigga must be a kid.. I don't even say geek
+Bruce Kent Holy fuck i was just about to type something just like that haha
This is one of the best interviews a black man can watch. He is talking about his struggle ,success and another black man cutting him a million dollar check.
it's a great story whether your black or white
kirkangel525 why never said it wasn’t it’s just a lot more meaningful being a black man
Kaleb Dacres okay explain this. why do you guys get mad at whites for supporting the whites but get all happy when blacks support blacks
Glenn boi I am white 😂😂😂 and I support a bunch of whites from authors to directors to even musicians I just hate when people try to get defensive about black people supporting other blacks it’s not inclusive to them there’s just a lot of black people who don’t and they just are trying to change that is all half of my friends are black and we love a lot of the same white idols but there’s a lot of black idols that deserve more credit it’s really not that deep bro
Glenn so before you assume my skin color from a simple sentence open your mind to what’s real here
I always come back to this interview because this man looks just like my father. I lost my dad to a brain tumor when I was 9. This man is my dads twin I swear!!
RIP JOHN CARDWELL ❤
Looks just my father too denzil adair rest in peace
Bless you my friend
Maybe he is your father
Master P was a real one bought all his artists houses and cars and put them in their names.
Boss Shit
Man me we need more niggas like that in the world
His style of comedy is really smooth....He is old school funny
10GALLEN81 that's kuz he's NATURALLY funny....not "writers" funny
10GALLEN81 more smooth than Eddie Murphy!
Like Richard Pryor
I liked Disfunktional family
10GALLEN81 The force was with master p and Eddie.
Eddie Griffin is one of the most underrated comedians in my lifetime and I'm 56 years old.
Herbert Walker
I agree with you 💯
I’m 28. I agree. The greats will and do agree as well, I guarantee that! 🤙
shun X Godly dad?
Facts!
Wich planet are yall on hes not
Yeah Master.P that Dude if you hear Snoop Dog say how M.P Saved his Career, and then hear Eddie tell his Story,Master.P is that Dude!! But that's how you get yo Blessings?
Master P always been a real dude. Respect the hell outta him
Paid for 50 cents first tour also. Banks said he always felt awkward doing the "ugly like a Master P shoe" line after that.
i always thought p was the shit. as a white dude growing up in baltimore city in the 90s, i use to buy all the soldiers cassettes and hide them from my parents. tru, skull duggery, mr serv on, kane and abel, prime suspects, fiend, mia x, c murder, mystikal, silkk..even had lil italy, lil soldiers, mean greens compilation..i used to watch im bout it and da last don all the time back in the day. i actually have the ice cream man, tru, and no limit records emblems tatted on me.
He is an honest businessman - very rare.
Most so-called business people think business is about exploiting the weak. Master P sees business as a mutual beneficial venture.
Everytime
I dead ass hated for this to end. this is a CLASSIC interview forreal
It really is tho. I enjoyed it. Especially the master p story.
+franchisejr15 I wished it was longer too! FRFR
+franchisejr15 word i wanted to hear more
+franchisejr15 #word one of Vlad's best. Shit was interesting AF.
+franchisejr15 This dude is entertaining as hell. I would love for him to get a radio show or a podcast.
Master-P is hands down the realest rapper of all time. I like 50 and 2pac but Master P has so many stories out there of him doing some positive life changing things.
There isn't a negative story on P from what I can see.
I agree.
P still humble and do shit like that that man gives more than any rapier in the gane NoLimitForever the tank back bitch
P is real af only story I don't like I heard was red man slapping him. If that's true it's because redman and them NY kids hating on the south. They know the south is hardcore not like Cali or NY. P has always been cool with me
+turtleturbo1025 I doubt that really happened.
I love how Eddie just naturally slips in the voices of different people he meets and talks too
Eddie Griffin is the realist, even when he’s serious he’s still funny
That's just the natural aura he carries. Can't copy respect.
I truly believe that is what makes him so funny.
T Realist am I the only one that smells his cologne?
On god
"the realist"m
Eddie is one of the few that can say money has never changed who he is. How can you not love this guy. If not as a comedian you gotta love him as a person
+Mr. Bond He BECAME A DRINKER AFTER HE GOT FAMOUS THO.
+Natsu .D. Uzamaki what's your point?
Mr. Bond Money changed him he started drinking.
+Mr. Bond word
he said in a special he's been broke longer than he's been rich so it's only natural the money didn't change him
Master P is a straight boss
Aye Percy wanna see you 😂🤘
Nigga a scrub
Fuck da World yeah but a really rich scrub.
MASTER P SET UP HIS BROTHER FOR LIFE IN PRISON FOR SUCCESS IN MUSIC
Hell yeah
I love how quiet vlad is when Eddie goes off on a story. The respect is real you can tell
Not only is Eddie Griffin a great comedian and a great actor, he's also straightforward, inspirational and is never afraid to say what's on his mind. In my book, that is what makes him a true legend.
Black men working together. You give love and it comes back. His first million was from Master P
Showing thanks to who helped you speaks volumes.
kerizmaent LoL y'all don't us, you made this comment as if black men working together is out of the norm or something.
@@joshbray5903 Well amongst so called Black men there is more jealousy an hatred towards our own moreso than any other race.
Love
Hear O Israel Facts, black men are typically the biggest haters/crabs amongst each other, so it’s actually rare to see a black male show love to another black man.
People don't see you in a while on TV and immediately think, YOU WASHED! and the funniest thing is, Ed Griffin don't look like he washed up at all...he chillin
+Cookingwith Shiiid yea, dropped 75 for a cheap seat at the Rio...full house.
+Cookingwith Sade he keep the houses full
+TheRadiusMD I agree he eatin' though.
That Netflix money from that special is doing really good & all them movies and tours he worked hard! For everything
I LOVED Eddie Griffin in "double take" with Orlando jones
That's One Of My Favorite Films EVER!!!! FUNNY FROM BEGINNING TO END NO WEAK SPOTS....
studying to be a Biological engineer with a free scholarship just humbled me...man I knew he was smart but wtf?
He's the smartest in the game I'm studying same subject and knew this about him before i found out today he studied bio chemistry, he could of been a docter lol.
Dolph Lundgren has a masters degree in chemistry so its possible
The reason Eddie didn't blow is because he wasn't one of those YES men in the industry. He didn't kiss ass or take shit from people. His whole career was more so him calling the shots and doing things independently but hands down he's one of the funniest, most memorable comedians of ALL time. Also S/O to master p for doing what he did in the Game!!!
Pierre Corleone
YUP. 💯💯👏👏
Sounds like Kevin Hart the king of being a yes man
P
He was too black for the Hollywood execs.
18 minutes went by in a second. I can listen to him talk for an hour straight and be interested.

Us African (meaning Black) folks need to realize the power we have when we come together !!!

Master P gotta be one of the most solid industry cats, every old story I hear about him is about him holding his people down
Master P is the boss. Give that man is props while he's alive
Oh I’ve always admired how he handles business!!!
Hell yeah man give him his props
I applaud Eddie for being homeless rather than play gangster games in Compton.

His Andrew “Dice” Clay was spot on

This makes me want to miss Foolish. I'm bout to watch it now.I miss Eddie Griffen... I'm probably the only person in the world that liked Malcolm and Eddie... Mostly Eddie!
LaLa Knight Me too I loved that show as a kid mainly for Eddie. I think Malcolm was a little dry on that show.
i like the show too but i like both of them. each episode had me with a new fav.
Me too lol
Thats one of my favorite shows its funny as hell
Right! The show was basically trash but it was Eddie on tv getting paid and that was good. Most if not all funny moments were his💯
UA-cam NEEDS another Vlad, Eddie Griffin interview
Homeless and sleeping standing up lol, funny cool cat
picture that shit, that aint funny and wrong for this one but damn i laughed real hard when he said that
You be surprised how many comedians were homeless and doing comedy.
I always liked Master P, because of his humble beginnings, and the positive things he have done.
Miss V master p change Snoop Dogg life around.
N he get it on his own I got mad respect for that
@Buick Regal he is also a great dad
@@justinwilliams9452 plus you don't hear about it him dissing anyone

I keep getting more n more respect for Master P as time goes on. Entertainment is one thing but this dude seems like a solid individual #rns
Master P is a class act. He sets the example and models how a businessman/woman shows respect. And also doesn't forget where he came from and who helped him become successful.
Master P ...this is a true brother.....Master P remembers who gave him a leg up....
every single person no matter where they get interviewed always has something good to say about Master P. I think it can be attributed to his business acumen, integrity, and also his well rounded personality. P is just a kool ass dude. Legend. I miss those no limit days.
I respect master p so much after watching this interview he a real one i didn't know he did all that for eddie that's so nice !
P did that for all of his artists. That's how come you would be hard pressed to find an interview of a former artist bad mouth P.
Even the ones like Marcelo had to come back years later and say that P was right
Eddie is honest dude , I love him .
I literally couldn’t stand up straight after his show.... my stomach was so sore from laughing

Imagine having Eddie Griffin as your godfather. That's some cool stuff right there.
master p is a smart business man
KERVE HITS genius
KERVE HITS eddie griffin man gonna always be a icon legend no body else like him him and mike epps
He was smart in building his empire because he knew how to reach his audience. Once he built No Limit, he made several blunders. The quality of the albums went into the toilet. They favored quantity over quantity. They had several artists that were whack as shit. Master P started selling Master P dolls that yelled “Ugghh.” He came out on wrestling shouting “Hoody Hoo” and had a wrestler named Swoll.
The ultimate mistake was when he became a sports agent. The rookie contract he got Ricky Williams to sign is to this day, the go-to example of a terrible contract. He screwed Ricky Williams out of millions of guaranteed dollars because he was in a business where he didn’t know what he was doing.
In the end, all of these bad business decisions hurt his image as the hardcore dirty rapper from New Orleans/Oakland. He couldn’t capture a new audience with these other business ventures and he alienated his core audience.
To a lesser extent, you saw that with Bone Thugs and Coolio. The white audience came on board with Gangsta’s Paradise and Crossroads, but they alienated the black audience. Once the black audience checked out, the white audience did too because the suburban crowd realized they weren’t cool anymore
StuUngar I agree with some of the points you made. Venturing off into the sports business did hurt his empire to an extent. When KLC (The Medicine Men) left in late 99/early 2000 the music was still good without them but was definitely missing that signature “No Limit Sound.” Then Snoop and Mystikal leaving, and C getting locked didn’t help either. By 2005/2006 everything really started to crumble. He is still one of the greatest/smartest music moguls to ever do it, right up there with Hov, Diddy, Dre, etc. Getting an 80/20 distribution deal like he did with Priority Records back in the day is still to this day considered one of the most savvy music business deals in the history of Hip-Hop music. He and Romeo have been methodically revamping and growing the No Limit Forever brand back up again in the last 10 years with digital music releases and upcoming films like “I Got The Hook Up 2.” They are slowly but surely back on the rise. There is still a lot that P and his empire have to offer us. It’s *far* from over with respect to No Limit that’s for sure. Oh and by the way P is from New Orleans and Richmond, not New Orleans and Oakland. I’m from the Bay myself. Easily 80% or more of the people who live in Richmond, CA came very recently from Louisiana (as in they were born in Louisiana, but came to live in Richmond later, just like P did) while others are like second generation. Regardless, most families in Richmond are originally from Louisiana and to a lesser extent Mississippi. Many Richmond folks still even have strong southern accents in some parts of the city. #nolimitforever
