The thing that annoys me, is that both machines are made by the same company, yet they have 2 different pod capsules. I want to know who's stupid idea was that, to rip off customers to purchasing only Nespresso or Nestle Dolce pods. I think all coffee machine should all have compatible pods universally, that way, each coffee company could compete with their coffee blends, after all, isnt that the reason why people buy these dame things, for the coffee??

+Lumanix1 The tighter the capsule, the more the pressure for the brewing. I guess Dolce Gusto came out first with wider pod, which was later made smaller in the Nesspresso. Now going back to correct the size may cost more. So we are left with it that way....just saying.
My Dolce Gusto is really old school. I can't set the bar thing on it.

If you want an espresso, an espresso with a slightly different flavour, a lungo or perhaps an espresso then the Nespresso will work for you. If you want an espresso, a lungo, a latte, a mocha, a tea, a mint tea, a cold cappuccino or a hot chocolate then the Dolce Gusto is the better choice. Both work well, but there's more variety in you type of drink with the Dolce Gusto - the Nespresso is purely for coffee

imo the dolce gusto have a big advantage in that even if you put no capsule in at all they can provide instant hot water for whatever drink you choose tea ,coffee cuppa soup or whatever by simply putting the flavouring into the cup and using the machine as a hot water dispenser only.

I know this is an old video so the info is out of date but if you were to get one of the two now go for the Dolce Gusto as you can now get
an adapter so you can use Nespresso pods in the Dolce Gusto machine but not vice versa as Nespresso pods are smaller.
just remember when you use the adapter to set the bar level 1 lower and your good.

Important consideration you didn’t mention: Dolce Gusto has milk pods you could use for froth as opposed to Nespresso where you have to buy a frother which in my opinion is quite messy and cumbersome.

I have the Dolce Gusto Majesto (the High End machine) and it was worth EVERY CENT!!!! None of having to adjust anything - you put the capsule in it has a colour screen which shows ALL your coffee flavours you just select your drink ie: Flat White pic which is ON SCREEN, a pic of a Flat White, just tap that - the machine adjusts everything itself then makes your flat white says to you “enjoy your Flat White” then reminds you to take out your used capsule. De scaling only every 3 to 4 months and EASY. Also connectable to internet and when new drinks come out automatically downloads the new drinks, BUY the Majesto - truly worth it!

Basically for the dolce gusto DOLCE GUSTO you can have a variety of different types of coffee-based drinks for example (Cappuccino, Mocha, Latte, and other third party pods like Galaxy, Maltesers....)
Keep in mind that you can do things like latte and cappuccino...... with Nespresso machines as long as you have a milk frother or steamer
●I think Nespresso machines look more premium and well-built that dolce gusto machines

So many Nespresso machines from Nespresso that has these features, Lattissima and Creatista are both coffee machine, has 8 milk temperature, 11 frothing style, automatically creates a coffee milk recipe and also gives you the option to add recipes. These offer 3 cups sizes then you have vertuo that has 5-6 different cup sizes, espresso, double espresso, gran lungo, coffee mug, alto and carafe. For me its Nespresso all the way and you can always get a bundle with these machines and get a milk frother at a low discounted price. Milk frothers can do both hot or cold.

  • @dfernand101

I'm sure I've seen Nespresso machines with fresh milk containers so you can make a cafe latte, the Dolce Gusto (which I bought) usually has in addition to the coffee pod ... a milk pod ... but i like my milk fresh so I add cold fresh milk but it's not the same as warm milk.... I'm on the hunt for the machine to make a killer cafe latte (which my mid range Dolce Gusto isn't)... wish me luck !

It's the milk! Can't believe this review totally didn't mention the lack of milk frother on the Dolce Gusto. The milk pods are rubbish.

I had to keep re-winding the video to make sure I wasn't seeing things, I mean, how about - "adultery who stole line". You can actually get compatible pods for Dolce Gusto now so in terms of versatility and price the Dolce Gusto wins. You can make a wider variety of drinks with it and you are no longer stuck with pods by Nescafe.
Nespresso is good, I have owned a Nespresso machine for a few years now but they are expensive and the compatible pods, whist there are now plenty of them, are not always of great quality. I guess it comes down to personal preference in the end although given our Nespresso machine has now reached the end of it's life I will be giving Dulce Gusto a try.
Oh and yes, that background music needs to go!

My mom had a nespresso before, from delonghi, which was quite pricey tbh, it broke down after 1 year and 3 months of use, so she got herself a Dolce Gusto machine, and she is way more happy about the Dolce Gusto, more choices, she has the Infinissima machine which let you choose how much coffee you want from a pod. I was so impressed by this Dolce Gusto, that we got our own, on sale! We paid 54 euro's, and the machine came with 5 big boxes of all different coffees! So we got the machine for free because we just paid for the coffee boxes! And we got home, and we had the same machine as my mom, and we didn't even notice it :p i am very happy with the Dolce Gusto machine, it brews everything nice and clean, yes, everytime you brew a cup you need to throw it away unlike the nespresso, but if you drink 1 cup of coffee every now and then, i don't want to see those cups in there for weeks on end, it isn't that hygienic after all. It is something extra you need to clean out, while the Gusto Gusto, after each brew, just wrince it underneath a tap and you're done!

Depends where you're based and what the coffee competition is like in your area. Also who you're serving and how many cups you're likely to serve in a set period of time.
Single serve machines aren't the quickest way - so even with hiding the thing in a take-away cup, you need to be able to get the coffee to the customer quicker. You could use the milk pods to speed it up - but.... I won't be coming to your store for that. LOL
When I was living in Hong Kong, convenience stores sold coffee in a can. During the winter these were available in a little heated serving area for drinks, so you could have a can of hot coffee. Of course the same coffee is available with cold drinks. This could be another option for people wanting a quick hot coffee.

Dolce Gusto has NO milk frothing. The annoyance of this is amplified by the fact that many coffee pod packs come with milk pods.... as milk pods are horrible - using them will ruin your coffee if you like a latte or flat white type coffee.
Yes, you can buy a milk frother from another manufacturer - problem there is that you're still buying milk pods with many styles of coffee, paying for something you're not using... OR... not buying those coffee pods but limiting the coffee options available seeing as there's no third party manufacturers adding to the selection of coffee's available... as is the case with Nespresso or Caffitaly.

Most smaller Nespresso machines don't have milk frothing either. I use a separate aeroccino for that, or those cheap handheld frothers. In dolce gusto I don't feel the need to buy coffee + milk pod combinations. I prefer to just do the milk frothing myself as I do with nespresso machines.

Dulce Gusto really need to sell those milk capsules as a separate thing - bundling them together further limits the availability.

why put the music? It's distracting, its annoying, its absolutely extraneous, and I cant even see why you would even consider including it, into such a review video.

“Espresso or coffee” Bro you are so far from an expert... Espresso *IS* coffee. You keep saying that they are different but espresso is coffee, coffee is just coffee... Coffee isn’t a specific type of coffee, it’s just a general term to refer to ALL kinds of coffee. When you say coffee you’re talking about a mug of black coffee i.e. americano..

Crap background music and going to the point. OOhhh..... just get to the point man. The dolcegusto is for making instant coffee like drinks(piss) with already added sugar, milk, whet ever the nespresso is for making a coffee.
Nespresso is actuallu much more louder and vibrates bit more as its using much higher pressure to actually make a coffee from the grinded coffee powder like any espresso machine. Dolce gusto as well as others like Tassimo is using instant blends - so they can make more drinks but not a real coffee.
So the choice is very simple do you want coffee like drinks or real coffee.

This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
