I think I got more out of this 7:30 than any other guitar lesson. Technique, how to do it, how to apply it with music theory that was very easy to understand. BRAVO!

To really get a taste for the Phrygian mode your chords selection should start on the B minor. By not starting on the B it tends to sound like a major scale.

Great Video clip! Sorry for chiming in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Rozardner Inspiring Chord Reality (probably on Google)? It is a good one of a kind guide for how to play guitar scales without the normal expense. Ive heard some super things about it and my BF after a lifetime of fighting got cool success with it.

@@jhoncanole2979 No I can't say I have heard of it. For me chords come from scales so if you play the right notes that emphasis the chord, a solo, regardless of the scale, will sound good.

I agree, nice video, but the chord progression she selected wasn't the best fit to demonstrate the purpose of showing off the "phrygian sound".

That's funny, none of the comments on Marty Music are saying how nice his smile is.
The strumming during 5:55-6:05 is amazing. The little tap for percussion is a much better way than the full slap I'd been learning, I'll be doing it more that way in future.

What i like about you is your struggle.... Inspite of all those obstacles you are building your up your knowledge and experience. Thats is what i love about you and that is a sign of a true musician. And when you progress ☺️ that's the enjoyment for a musician.... That is the beauty... I can relate to you coz i see myself in you.... Good job and never stop playing, my best wishes

Thank you! I love this comment, I think the true challenge is to keep going when somebody says no. Hey I am going the grades now from acoustic guitar and I am grade 4, June is the next exam for Grade 5, I think thats closer to Spanish guitar than classical, as the exam is about scales chords, rhythms, air traning, improvisation etc. Never stop playing/learning, I hope you have a beautiful day!
