GG Regis. I was the idiot who was running reborn Finley. At first it seemed like a good idea until I realized I wouldn't get any in buckets and every single person was running the busted hero power that completely counters reborn. This is the second time that I know of that I have faced you, and both times you have referred to me as a Hearthstone God. But this time you got the better of me. Keep up the great content!
My thought is that you should actually lower the mana cost of the hero power to 1, but then just cause it to REFRESH on kill, not fire again
That way, you still get those lucky turns where you clear the board with all your missiles, but you have to dump more mana into it
Don't decrease the cost and it's okay, alternatively make it only fire 1 missile
Otherwise, make the extra hero power damage launch an additional missile (Like Arcane Missiles with spell power). Makes it into linear scaling rather than exponential
Wording might get clunky tho
@@BigFatCock0 Stargazing is ultra rare - so I dont think balance needs to be made around stuff that is very uncommonly seen assuming its not absolutely game breaking when seen together.
Blizzard's general approach to stuff that is too strong is dump it in ultra rare tbh

Not very clunky wording. 13 words for 2 effects is not much.
@@JaharNarishma "fire again" might get confused with "repeat this". "Fire an additional missile" might be the best, though maybe hard to fit in the Hero Power tooltip.
They could also just use slightly confusing wording for the sake of brevity, wouldn't be the first time.
Man, those first few matches felt like Regis just had the perfect counter to his opponents' decks.
Felt to me like he was matched up against them and given the perfect to slow EM with forced losses😂
The moment i heard they were putting Tombs of Terror Reno as a playable duels character, i remember thinking: "Man thats cool, but they better nerf craftiness."
I play the Tombs of Terror when i want chill after work. Arcane Craftiness is the easily the most broken hero power. When i saw that it wasnt being nerfred, i knew it was going to absolutely destroy.
It’s so crazy that they buffed Azure Drake, I remember it being hall of famed. Powercreep is crazy
Easy fix:
Deal 3 damage randomly split between enemies
That way, adding 1 damage just adds 1 missile
Still very stronk
Should stay 2 imo, but i like the idea
Yeah, the extra damage to the Reno hero power is nuts. You can't wild fire in the adventure, but randomly getting it from discoveries makes it nuts.
At 26:10 after you play the Thalnos, you still had 5 mana. Siphon (3), Frostbolt (4), and Ignite (3) would have given you lethal. Chat got it right for once!
Otherwise, to fix it maybe more elegantly, you could just say that it fires one more time instead of each projectile dealing one more damage like arcane missiles do.
At 12:00 it couldn't have been yogg too because it was in the first slot meaning it would've gone before counter spell

It was wack in solo runs. I finished a run once by casting Ancient Reflections on it to nuke the plague lord.
Fix idea: 'deal one damage to a random enemy', i.e. just drop the twice -- that way you can still have the cool 'blow up boards' interaction but it spirals way less quickly
Why do you need to fix it? As if balance exists in hearthstone at the moment...

I really really hate this Reno power.
All it took was two games with turn 1 Wildfire and I was already pretty done. Then I do another run as Pirate Brann w/Patches treasure and solely ONLY fight Reno with that power..
Arcanite Crystal can't reduce a cost below 1, those procs were guaranteed to hit the SI-7 Agent.
Aaaand I've gotten to the point in the video where chat tells you this XD. I thought a 5 minute window was enough.
as for the comment thing, i think its kind of a difference of mindset... some people say 'this guy," 'he," etc because they're talking to the other commenters, and other people will address their comments at you. People aren't trying to be rude, (at least not with that word choice alone, some people are definitely rude) its just a thing
during game 5, the discount could only hit the si-7 because the arcane spells can’t discount to 0
He figured it out later and called the chat out for baiting him lol.

The si:7 getting discounted twice was not bad luck, it was guaranteed, the discounts from the arcane spells can’t reduce the cost of cards below 1 and all of your other cards cost either 1 or 0 so there was no other place for the discount to apply :)
Sigh. When wildfire was not baned. Now i just run all discovers for it...

The treasure could only hit the SI:7 Agent because it can't reduce below 1 cost

From their passive "Whenever damage is dealt to a Frozen enemy, double it", and their hero power was 6 damage, so 6x2=12
And the opponent missed lethal
Man even if they somehow manage to nerf this hero power to a balanced point I still feel that its unhealthy.
When you meet this hero power in certain matchups, you will just instantly feel regret for queuing up. I don't see how any balances can change that

I have tried over a dozen times to get Reno in Duels and not once has he shown up, I've wanted to play him since release :(

I think it was the correct play to go in on the Thalnos vs that priest.
The problem is... It doesn't reduce pass 1- so from what I saw, it was always going to hit SI-7.
@@Pyrotro yeah the discounts will always hit SI:7 but it’s a guaranteed bunch of face damage and threat on board that must be removed (+7 spell dmg is a lot) but with the clear you draw 7 and have a full hand to continue the game with plenty of burn in the deck to finish quickly

I that reno's craftiness hero power is good but i don't think it the only broken thing ,
eg I just when 12 and 0 with a bran discover deck I made in like 5 mins
You just draw like a god ever turn
The beck used flag and signet with cheap discovers to make a big board every turn
The starter beck was basically just all the cheap discover cards and Sr Excavator

Each Expansion I try duels, and each time it just feels super unbalanced. And I give up after 3-4 runs... maybe just me

Btw Regis, doesn't the Arcanite just reduce stuff to 1 at most? So during that game with the priest, doesn't that mean it was only ever going to discount SI-7? That'd mean it was the same as Mordresh that one game as well, as he was your only card above 1.

Brann is way more busted, I went against one last night that just went pure face dmg with the hero power and spells and it DESTORYS people

If the gameplay isn't proof enough of the Outrageous damage output Reno has just look at all the other Reno opponents late in the run ... Gonna be nerfed ... lol
They are still whiffing on interactivity

I really want ot try like a guff/deathratlle priest. Guff to 20 mana then play massive deathrattles and then finish with xyrella
Played the exact same thing earlier with the priest deathrattle quest, along with guff and xyralla. I managed to get the treasure that reduces taunt cards by 3. The fact I managed to get 6 wins with a very non optimal list suggests the archetype has potential for sure

Can we all agree here that the problem with this deck is wildfire, not the hero power. Just like in every other hero power mage deck since wildfire was introduced it has broken the game.
Nah it’s absolutely the hp. The constant punish of low health minion decks is too strong. Sure wildfire emphasises the issue, but since we don’t have the same problem with the other mage hps it’s clear that Reno is the issue
@@mikkeljensen9488 I disagree because the the only punish is multiple one health minions, non one health minions are not guaranteed and if it goes face it only two damage equivalent of standard Hunter HP. The HP only becomes a problem when wildfire is included where it can now do 4 damage face and possibly more plus the ability to wipe 2 health minions which are far more common then 1 health minions in order to continue the chain. And even if it doesn’t chain it’s essentially 4 damage face or to a minion which is essentially a better Odd Quest Hunter with a single card.
And I honestly think you can view it in this video, he rarely hit button until wildfire has been played.
And on your next point, the meta has been rapent with wildfire since the past two expansions I believe. Every other person, whether it was in standard or Duels, was a Hero Power mage running wildfire with the Mage Hero Card and it was extremely strong.
@@cmk9089 you have convinced me. While I still do think this hero power is really strong, you are right that wildfire is what sets it off and really limits what the devs can do with hero powers.
