    Check out this video for an in-depth review of the SUNSUN 304B! I love this filter, especially for the price point. If you’re not looking to break the bank with a Fluval or a Marineland, this canister filter might be for you! It filters water at 525 GPH and has a UV sterilizer!

I won't be using it as well it wasn't lighting up when I started it and I was really wondering how to open it with water in it. I tried last night and well, got water everywhere. Add ceramic media at the bottom before you inside the trays. First tray needs to be all the filter pads you plan on using. Everything else bio. Also a prefilter sponge on your intake tube will help tons. I have 2 sunsun 3000s on my 60. Checked one filter at 6 months and it showed me I can go waaaay longer maybe 8 months to a year without filter maintenance.

  • @jl644
    @jl644 2 роки тому +1

    There needs to be a long term reviews on these canister filtration. All I see on youtube is Unboxing and setups... No long term.
    You can add pre-prime water after your cleaning and rinsing with the medias. put water just above the trays, not to over do it because it will cause the water to over flow when you install the top part of the filter. It makes it less of a hassle to prime and it prevents water to drain from your tank while priming.

      Such a great question! I actually still have this exact filter running but I’ll be looking to replace it soon. I like this filter because maintenance for it is easy, the motor being on the top is amazing because it never clogs, and it fits a ton of filter media. Things I don’t like about this filter is that the electricity it requires is more than double what the Fluval equivalent is. Also, I’m just starting to get leaking issues, on occasion, when turning the filter off for water changes. Hope this helps!

    I have owned mine for 3 months. Mine leaks from the main seal, around the lid. It is constant.
    It pulls in air when it's running, and stalls the impeller. If it stalls out entirely, I have to prime it again. Otherwise, the air just makes a lot of noise in the filter.
    I have tried a bunch of methods to fix it. Replaced the main O ring. Added Vaseline and/or silicone grease. Removed the o ring, applied Teflon tape until the clearance was real tight.... Nothing works.
    I recommend against this filter!!!

      Have to make sure the trays come together connecting correctly. Make sure you don't have any filter media too high in the trays. The trays have to connect flush. You can feel it connect when you lay them in there. Sometimes they will lay not connecting correctly then you will have problems. Fill the canister with tank water until you see the water on the top tray. Make sure you have the top flat plate tray that goes to the top on correctly. Should make a good seal. I have 3 of these on my 125g. never a problem for 7 years.
